Aiming to explore the evolution of Latin American cinema, this film screening will focus on 1970s Latin American cinema, following the retrospective initiated in the previous two editions which showed films from the origins of cinema until the 50s and the 60s. There she spends her first days absorbed and aloof. Two characters enter her life. One is Marta, a fellow inmate who has reared two children in prison and who becomes her guide and counselor; the other is Sofía, Julia’s own mother, an ambiguous character who Julia meets up with again after many years. Sofía attempts to repair the mistakes of the past; she helps her daughter, gets her a good lawyer, sends her baby clothes, and slowly reestablishes her relationship with Julia. The legal case involving the death of Nahuel, has two possible guilty parties: Julia and Ramiro, both in prison in different penitentiaries. Their testimonies are contradictory, one incriminating the other. The child is born, a baby boy whose name is Tomás. Bringing up a child in prison is difficult.

Su personalidad pública es un retrato compuesto por elementos intrafílmicos y extrafílmicos, y se caracteriza principalmente por presentarse como una imagen del argentino medio, del hombre de la calle que opina sobre los problemas sociales de su país, interpelando directamente al poder político desde tribunas mediáticas controvertidas. Este artículo analiza cómo estos factores contribuyen a dar forma al papel del Padre Julián en Elefante blanco (Pablo Trapero, 2012) y cómo, a su vez, la marca de celebridad creada por Darín in- teractúa con la figura histórica del Padre Carlos Mugica y con el trabajo de los curas villeros en las villas de emergencia que la película describe. Al igual que el sacerdote a quien representa en la película, el actor habita el espacio entre lo ordinario y lo excepcional, entre la vida privada cotidiana y la actuación como figura pública. Ferruccio Busoni, 1907 Throughout his lifetime, Ferruccio Busoni was a trailblazer – a pioneer in search of the new and the unexplored. In this sense he never viewed piano activity as an end in itself, but rather as a tool that furthers experimentation. The Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition not only affords contemporary music its due regard, but also selects its repertoire in keeping with Busoni’s penchant. Thanks to a fruitful collaboration with the Orleans International Piano Competition, which dedicates itself with the utmost professionalism to contemporary piano music of the twentieth and twenty-first century, the 27 finalists of the 61st Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition will be able to choose from 13 new works for solo piano that offer a wide aesthetic variety and an array of technical challenges. Handling repertoire that embraces the many facets of that which is contemporary is a fundamental trait for any performer at the apex of his or her day. This collaboration with the Concours d'Orléans is an important first step towards this end.     FOTOCINEMA, nº 21 (2020) E-ISSN: 2172-0150 | | La poética de Pablo Trapero: impotencia, catábasis y corrosión de la ley Pablo Trapero’s poetics: impotence, cathabasis and corrosion of the law Alfredo Dillon Universidad Católica Argentina, Argentina [email protected] Resumen: El objetivo de este artículo es analizar algunos rasgos de la poética de Pablo Trapero, uno de los directores más relevantes y prolíficos del cine argentino contemporáneo. Para eso se recorta un corpus de cuatro films –El bonaerense (2002), Leonera (2008), Carancho (2010) y El clan (2015)–, representativos de distintas etapas de su filmografía. El estudio apela a una perspectiva autoral, conciliándola con una lectura sociológica de los films. El análisis de la poética autoral de Trapero se despliega en función de tres ejes: la construcción de los personajes, la configuración diegética del hogar familiar y la emergencia de un diagnóstico sobre lo social signado por la corrosión de la ley y la normalización de la transgresión en la Argentina post crisis de 2001. El abordaje autoral aporta a la comprensión del llamado “Nuevo Cine Argentino” y del devenir industrial de algunos de sus representantes, entre quienes Trapero ocupa un lugar destacado. Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyze some features of the poetics of Pablo Trapero, one of the most relevant and prolific directors of contemporary Argentine cinema. For this purpose, we have selected four films –El bonaerense (2002), Lion’s Den (2008), Carancho (2010) and The Clan (2015)– that are representative of different stages of his filmography.     Cine argentino y dictadura Por Mariana Amieva, Gabriela Arreseygor, Raúl Finkel y Samanta Salvatori Del cine militante a la censura y represión Si bien el 24 de marzo se ha constituido como fecha emblemática para comenzar a hablar de la dictadura militar, lo cierto es que resulta inevitable remitirnos al período previo para poder comprender y preguntarnos el porqué de los hechos. Indagar sobre las prácticas autoritarias vividas en la Argentina durante los años 60 y 70, las transformaciones en el plano político con el surgimiento de nuevas organizaciones, el arte como espacio de acción política, las disputas y tensiones entre diferentes proyectos económicos, etc., permite comprender al golpe de Estado de 1976 no como un hecho aislado sino como parte de un proceso en clave con los gobiernos autoritarios anteriores. Y el cine argentino no fue ajeno a las transformaciones de aquella época: es en esos años que se gestaron las bases de un cine político que, si bien fue alcanzado por la censura y represión, dejó sus huellas en el mundo del cine y hoy en día se constituye como referente para muchos jóvenes realizadores. Es en este sentido que, al reflexionar sobre las narrativas de la última dictadura militar, partimos de ese cine político que, a través de sus producciones, nos ayuda a comprender cuál fue la magnitud de las transformaciones del propio cine durante el gobierno militar, por qué fue importante para las FFAA gestar nuevos discursos funcionales a los objetivos del golpe, y también apropiarse de este espacio como herramienta para la difusión de ciertos valores.
