UNIVERSAL PICTURES’ RIDE ALONG 2 + TWO OF ITS STARS – ICE CUBE AND KEVIN HART -- HONORED WITH STARS ON THE MIAMI WALK OF FAME!
Miami, FL (January 7, 2016) – On Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm, at Bayside Marketplace, 401 Biscayne Blvd, The Official Miami Walk of Fame, Inc., a Florida Not-for-Profit Corporation dedicated to supporting the arts in Miami, and Bayside Marketplace, with support from the Greater Miami Host Committee, the City of Miami, Miami Downtown Development Authority the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, Creative Terrazzo Systems, Inc. and Miami Club Rum honored Universal Pictures’ Ride Along 2 with a star on the Miami Walk of Fame.
The Official Miami Walk of Fame, Inc. immortalizes the entertainment industry's biggest names, many whom are hometown celebrities in entertainment, film, television, theater, sports, music and beyond. Inductees are chosen by a selection committee of industry peers, and honored with an induction ceremony.
The star-studded public ceremony took place with the induction of the film Ride Along 2 as well as the induction of two of its stars – Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. Stars were designed by pop artist Romero Britto and the event was live- streamed on VarietyLatino.com.
Mayor Tomás Regalado presented the Ride Along 2 star and proclamation of “Ride Along 2 Day” to the film’s director, Tim Story, and producer, Will Packer - who then presented a $5,000 donation to the Miami Police Athletic League (PAL). Additional cast members Ken Jeong, Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn and Tika Sumpter also attended the ceremony to accept the film star and support Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, their fellow cast members.
Each inductee received a small duplicate of the star and recognition from the Florida Film Commission for contributions to the industry in Miami and the State of Florida.
