Brief Information About the Activity (Criterion No: 2 AND 7 )

Objectives 1.History can be better understood if we experience the places where the historical events took place. Therefore to familiarize the students with places of historical importance, the monuments, palaces, gardens built by a particular ruling dispensation,: all these exercises upgrade the knowledge of a historian. Udaipur has a very chequered history as the bastion of the rulers, especially after the capture of by . The Udaipur Palace preserves the splendour of Rajput architecture. Similarly, Mount Abu is famous for its religious and mythological importance. 2.To make the students bond with each other and with the teachers, to teach them coordination, planning, execution and management skills, to enhance their observation, listening and learning skills, to make them knowledgeable about the historical intricacies of a particular place. Methodology Trip is organised by the students, Funds are generated internally through collection from students and teachers. Tour operators are hired, tickets booked and the journey is undertaken by train. Visits to historical sites is undertaken by bus. Government authorised Guides are enlisted and they conduct the visits to monuments which prove to be an immensely enriching experience. local cuisines explored thus expanding the knowledge base of students. Outcomes Their historical knowledge about this place(Udaipur/ Mount Abu) is enhanced. They understand the intricacies of the architecture/ art/sculpture/ painting style of a particular historical period. Students come back refreshed, energised and more friendly with each other. They have gained practical knowledge about sharing and travelling in a group. They gain knowledge about history of Udaipur and Mount Abu
