Received: July 02, 2019; Published: August 22, 2019 DOI: 10.31080/ASNH.2019.03.0421 Abstract Mango is probably the most variegated fruit of India. Mango fruit is not only rich in macro and micro nutrients, but also rich in natural antioxidants. Phytochemical and nutrient content appears to vary across mango cultivars. Seven varieties of mango available were purchased from the local market by following a sampling plan. The pulp was recovered, blended and used for further extraction and analysis. Three solvents namely ethanol, methanol and water were used for extraction. Total phenolic content was determined by the Folin-Ciocalteu method. The TPC of mango varieties were from 111.73 ± 3.56 to 889.72 ± 15.73 µg of GAE/g FW. The results were of total phenolic components would be used to evaluate antioxidant activities superior in water extracts, medium in ethanol and least in methanol in all the mango varieties except Alphonsa mango. Imam Pasand Grapes Research Station, TNAU Anaimalayanpatty, Rayappanpatty Post, Theni, Tamil Nadu, India G Panjavarnam and M Selvarajan M Selvarajan Abstract Grapes Research Station, A field experiment was conducted to assess the effect of different chemicals, soil application of TNAU Anaimalayanpatty, Rayappanpatty Post, paclobutrazol and combined application of paclobutrazol with chemicals as foliar spray on flowering Theni, Tamil Nadu, India physiology and yield in mango cv. The experiment was laid out with sixteen treatments and two replication in a Randomized Block Design. The soil application of -2 paclobutrazol @ 0.75.a.i. m of tree canopy diameter during September month along with foliar spray of KNO3 @ 1 per cent twice during October and November at 20 days interval was very effective in physiological parameters, soil application of paclobutrazol along with KNO3 foliar spray increased leaf nitrogen (1.75 %), phosphorus (0.16 %) and potassium (0.86 %). The same treatment registered the -1 lowest gibberellic acid (1.39 µg g ). In both the treatments viz., foliar spray of KNO3 combined with soil application of paclobutrazol @ 0.75.a.i. m-2 of tree canopy diameter and application of paclobutrazol alone were recorded the highest yield characters viz., panicle length (34 cm & 33.63 cm), hermaphrodite flowers (12.62 % and 12.58 %) and fruit yield (33.50 kg tree-1 and 31.40 kg tree-1) respectively are on par and statistically significant.
