More Than a Game: Sports-Themed Video Games and Player Narratives Garry Crawford and Victoria K. Gosling University of Salford This article considers the social importance of sports-themed video games, and more specifically, discusses their use and role in the construction of gaming and wider social narratives. Here, building on our own and wider sociological and video games studies, we advocate adopting an audience research perspective that allows for con- sideration of not only narratives within games but also how these narratives are used and located within the everyday lives of gamers. In particular, we argue that sports- themed games provide an illustrative example of how media texts are used in identity construction, performances, and social narratives. Cet article considère l’importance sociale des jeux vidéo sur le sport et, plus spéci- fiquement, il porte sur leur utilisation et leur rôle dans la construction des récits de jeu et des récits sociaux. À partir de nos propres études sociologiques et de jeux vidéo, nous favorisons une perspective de recherche fondée sur l’auditoire qui permet de considérer non seulement les récits au sein des jeux mais également la façon dont ces récits sont utilisés et situés dans la vie quotidienne des joueurs. En particulier, nous suggérons que les jeux à thème sportif offrent une illustration de la façon dont les textes des médias sont utilisés dans la construction de l’identité, les performances et les récits sociaux.

    Katowice, 2020.12.28 Regulations of the "Rawa Katowice" Baseball Sports Club – youth section § 1 General rules 1. The Rawa Katowice Baseball Sports Club, hereinafter referred to as the Club, was entered by the decision of the President of Katowice of September 25, 2006 to the Registration of Sports Club under number 21/06. The club acts as a physical culture association. 2. According to the statute, the Club is a voluntary self-governing association of people with the aim developing and promoting physical culture, in particular baseball and softball. 3. The term Participant means a player of the Club for whom the legal guardian is responsible. 4. The Club gives regular classes throughout the year, excluding summer holiday time. 5. The Club may suspend giving classes for an indefinite period by informing the Participants of the reasons for the decision. 6. Classes are conducted by baseball and softball coaches, instructors and people who help in conducting the classes. Education through sport is promoted in accordance with the rules of didactics, ethics and Fair Play. § 2 A Player's rights and obligations 1. The condition for membership of the Club and participation in classes is the submission of the Player Application Form (KZZ) filled in by the legal guardians. When filling in the KZZ, it is obligatory to include all information that the person conducting the classes should know about (ailments, pa st injuries - fractures, sprains, medications taken regularly, etc.) 2. Each participant is obliged to have valid sports medical check-ups. In the absence of medical check-ups, legal guardians take full responsibility.

    Women’s Club Volleyball Constitution Preamble For the purposes deemed wise and good,hereinafter set forth, this organization is hereby established submitting itself to be by, and dedicating itself to uphold the following constitution. Article I Women’s Club Volleyball Article II Requirements for Membership: 1. Membership shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age etc. 2. Regular membership shall consist of those students of the Sam Houston State University who have agreed to uphold the constitution and to participate fully in the activities of this organization. 3. Participants must be able to attend games and practices 4. Members pay Club dues in order to be apart of the Club 5. Members must attend all meetings. 100% attendance is required unless you will not be able to attend due to unforeseen circumstances. Selection of Teams: The Coach/President will select members for the competitive teams. He or she will evaluate the player’s skills without biased and decide whether or not the player will be able to contribute to the competitive teams for the club. Rights and Responsibilities: Each member has the responsibility for their grade to continue membership in the club. Those that can not will be in violation of the requirements set by the Sam Houston State and will be handled accordingly. Volunteering and Fundraising : Each member of the club is required to be involved in ​ volunteering and fundraising. The president of each year will inform the club members on the amount of hours that are required from the Sports Club Handbook or the Sports Club Director.

Coaches are expected to teach and train Kraken approved Gold Medal Squared curriculum.     Club Sports Handbook 2014-2015 Introduction There are currently Competitive Sports and Recreational Sports Clubs administered by the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Center for Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation (CIAR) and Center for Campus Life (CCL) and recognized by Student Government (SG). Each club is comprised of enthusiastic, hardworking, and dedicated athletes who organize, fund, and promote their clubs with the ultimate goal of competing against other colleges on both a regional and national level, or playing recreationally for the love of sports. Sports Clubs provide unique opportunities for students to participate, compete, and develop skills in a variety of sports. These clubs actively recruit both new and experienced student athletes during the year, and through weekly practices, prepare for intercollegiate competitions. Competitive Sports Clubs are governed by regulations of both the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation and the Sports Club Federation. The success of the Club Sports Program at RIT is the result of dedicated student leaders volunteering their time, effort, and guidance to their respective clubs.     Starting a Collegiate Club Volleyball Program There are several basic steps to starting a collegiate club volleyball program at your institution. Within these steps there are several methods, suggestions, requirements and helpful hints to help you guide you along. This is by no means a comprehensive list of everything you will need and need to do but it will provide you some information to get you started. There are also many resources in place at your college or university to in the process of starting a club. You should refer to those resources as much as possible. Here are the key steps in starting a club; 1. Gathering members and accessing facilities 2. Finding a coach/advisor 3. Becoming sanctioned by the college/university 4. Meet with the Sports Club Director, Dean of Student Life or Director of Student development. Gathering Members Finding participants should be the number one priority. College campuses offer many opportunities to promote your club to your fellow students. Try some of the following ways to get your club noticed.: *PLACE ADS IN THE SCHOOL NEWSPAPER-You can also call the editor. Many times student newspapers are looking for articles. *HAND OUT FLIERS-Provide fliers to incoming freshman or at busy campus areas. Make sure you include meeting times, practice, and game location. *HANG POSTERS ABOUT THE CLUB-Rec Centers, gymnasiums, student unions, cafeterias, libraries, study areas, kiosks and other gathering places are a great place to post information about your team.
