My previous work experience includes working with Barclays Bank and also a project under OXFAM. I have great interest in research and training and I was privileged to undergo various short trainings courses while working with Barclays bank. This enabled me to become a good trainer. My research interests are on monetary and financial economics and econometrics. PUBLICATIONS I have authored a recent publication together with Prof Etyang which was published by the Canadian Centre for Science and Education in Vol. 6, No. 4, April 2014 issue of the International Journal of Economics and Finance. The title of the publication is Stock Market Liberalization, Stock Market Performance and Economic Growth in Kenya. EDUCATION BACKGROUND 2014-: PhD in Economics (3rd Year, On going) Kenyatta University I am currently pursuing my PhD in economics degree at Kenyatta University through course work, examination and thesis which started September 2014. It is a three years programme done through course work, examination and thesis. 2013: Master of Economics (MEC) Kenyatta University. Thesis title: STOCK MARKET LIBERALIZATION, STOCK MARKET PERFOMANCE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN KENYA. 2001: Bachelor of Arts (BA) Kenyatta University. Modules studied include: Economics, Business Studies and Mathematics units. Year : Dec 2010 to Oct 2014 I have worked in various operations departments of Barclays Bank since December 2010 as a Processor where I have made great achievements. I worked in cheque clearing department where we made great success in frustrating numerous frauds. During my one year attachment in a project which was being used by the Bank in migration to new core banking system, we successfully completed the project on time and received numerous awards from the Chief Operating Officer for work well done. Job Title : Customer advisor Organisation: Barclays Bank of Kenya- Customer Service department Year : May 2007-April 2009 I have worked at the Customer service and Contact Centre departments of Barclays Bank where my responsibility included answering customer’s queries and resolving complaints over the phone, creating awareness of Barclays products, monitor and follow up dissatisfaction forms and cascade to the team and initiate actions to overcome problem identified in meeting the service levels. I have also done an Advanced Excel Training at the Institute of Advanced Technology (IAT) enabling me to be competent in aspects of the programme.
