  • Aikidó a Jeho Styly…
V nejrannějších knihách bylo Aikidó překládáno jako "The Way of Chivalrous Spiritual Harmony".

Aikido Times July 2011 Newsletter of the British Aikido Board Weapons Protocol he Board have recently approved a new Protocol for the use of weapons in Aikido training and all members should be Tmade aware of its requirements, particularly in relation to the use of “live blades” in training Additionally the requirements of the Protocol will now be incorporated into the BAB Coaching Syllabus. The great news is that following the change to Endsleigh, as our insurers, the BAB’s policy will, for the first time, now include cover for: • Training with wooden weapons, including those with rounded points. • Training with live blades, subject to strict adherence with the Weapons Protocol. A copy of the Weapons Protocol is available on the website: http://www.bab.org.uk/downloads/3C9_Weapons_Protocol.pdf Dan Grade Certification ts great to hear that Venue Managers ( Local Authorities, Leisure Centres, Charity premises etc) are increasingly requiring those Iwishing to set up martial art classes to prove their authenticity. Often the Instructor will not only be required to provide evidence that they are affiliated to the National Governing Body, but may also require authentication of their Gradings, from the NGB. Whilst the award of grades is the responsibility of Member Associations, it was therefore agreed that the British Aikido Board should hold a Register of Dan Grades awarded and issue certificates confirming that the individual holds a dan grade awarded by a recognised Member Association. If you are interested in obtaining a Certificate, which is If you have a news story, an event, or a view you would in the BAB “house style” you can do this through the BAB like to contribute to the newsletter, please feel free to Website www.bab.org.uk .

This study investigated whether training in the martial art of aikido is associated with efficacy in the constructive handling of social conflict in the workplace. Aikido practitioners (N = 143) from a diverse sampling of occupations participated in a battery of assessments. Aikido experience was primarily measured by cumulative hours of training. Core aspects of aikido were measured with the Body Insight Scale and the Spirituality in the Workplace Scale. The Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory II was used to assess workplace conflict styles. Integrating style is regarded as the most efficacious in the constructive handling of conflict followed by compromising. Avoiding style is considered the least efficacious and dominating is next to last (obliging was not considered).

The guiding principle of Aikido is HARMONY: inner harmony of mind and body; harmony with others people; and oneness with Nature. The name AIKIDO means, “The Way of Harmony with Life-Energy.” Aikido was developed in the early 20th century by Morihei Ueshiba O- Sensei. He mastered many martial arts and combined them with his spiritual and ethical insights to form modern Aikido. He taught, “Aikido is love. If you think that ‘martial art’ means to have enemies and opponents and to be strong and defeat them, you are mistaken. The true martial art is to be one with the universe and to have no enemies. The essence of the martial art is the spirit of loving protection of all beings.” Koichi Tohei Sensei was born on January 20th, 1920 in Tokyo. He graduated from the Economics Department of Keio University. When he was young, he suffered from pleurisy and he was very weak.

  • Notes on Trends and Problems of Psychotherapy in Japan
Psychologia. 1958. 1. 231-236. NOTES ON TRENDS AND PROBLEMS OF PSYCHOTHERAPY IN JAPAN T ADASHI TSUSHIMA Kyoto Prefectural Saikyo University INTRODUCTION As it was so in the West, there have been various kinds of pre-scientific ideas and techniques of psychotherapy in Japan since several hundred years ago. Some of the famous books written by Japanese old scholars and wise men such as Yojokun-" The dis ciplines for good health" by Ekiken Kaibara (1630-1714) who had a very rich back ground in Chinese philosophy and literature, and Yasenkanwa-" Free talking on a night boat" by Hakuin (1685-1786), a Zen-Buddhist monk who suffered from a kind of serious neurosis are considered to have very fruitful scientific implications even from the viewpoint of the contemporary psychosomatic medicine (3). These kinds of psychothera peutic or mental hygienic ideas are deeply rooted in Buddhism, Yoga, Chinese philo sophies, Bushido-training and some Japanese religions centered around Shinto-a kind of national religion in Japan before World War n. However, we may say that considerable scientific interest in psychotherapy started after Japan had been baptisized by the western medical and psychological sciences about half a century ago. In the present-day Japan, one might find there almost any schools or orientations of psychotherapy in the West. But generally speaking, most of them have not well matured yet because of the lack of training system and agencies as well as research works in this field. It may be legitimately said that the interest in counseling and psychotherapy both in the academic and civil worlds has greatly developed after World War n under the influence of the West, especially the United States of America.

Review Article Yoga and stress management during and post COVID-19 urban lifestyle in Japan Akiko Kato and Rajib Shaw Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University, Japan ABSTracT When COVID-19 started spreading in Japan, the government announced national emergency in April-May, and requested people to stay inside home for a prolonged period of time. This has caused significant stress in different groups of urban residents in Japan, where close contacts were the key issue. An online survey conducted with urban residents have pointed out that 78% were under stress, and 18% were using yoga to relieve from the stress. Although the percentage of people conducing yoga was less, but they wanted to continue it even after the COVID-19 is over. With some literature review, the paper argues yoga as an effective means of stress and health management during as well post Corona time. This is especially relevant to urban lifestyle, since yoga can be done by any age group, including physically challenged people. It is argued that yoga can also release stresses in different disaster situation, especially in the evacuation centers.
