These activities contribute to an array of problems and associated environmental impacts and socio-economic consequences, when managed inappropriately, as illustrated in Table 7.1 and Table 7.2. From these tables it is clear that there are no one-to-one linkages between the activities, problems and impacts – several activities can contribute to one or more problems which, in turn, can contribute to more than one impact, and vice versa. -
