It covers the local authority areas of Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Wirral and Sefton. Education & Skills Capital Programmes (LGF) Transport • M58 Junction 1 Improvements £ 5.50m • Maghull North New Station £11.70m • Switch Island Capacity Scheme £ 2.36m • Sustainable Transport Programme £ 3.08m Education & Skills • Port Academy Hugh Baird College £ 2.00m • Southport College Improvements £ 0.66m • Health Engagement & Training Hub £ 3.99m Business Capital • Chancery Gate Development £ 0.95m Inward Investment Working with colleagues at Sefton Council we have supported the following: New Investments • Kura – Call Centre in Bootle (400 jobs) • Santander – Retention Project Current Investment Enquiries • US Biomanufacturing Co.; Digital & Construction Account Management • Huber Packaging Bootle – LCR4.0 / MTC • Stork Technical Services Southport – MTC • Domino UK – Ongoing support and link into MIF • Green Core; ODL Europe - Potential expansions Business Growth Growth Hub Working with Sefton Council to simplify the business support landscape by providing brokerage service to businesses to help them get the support they need • 450 Sefton Business supported to find the right support for their business in 2018 • £50,000 partnership fee paid to Sefton Council to support the Growth Hub Programme New Markets Programme Intensive consultancy support for growing businesses to help access new markets • 26 Sefton Businesses Supported • £75,000 in grants paid towards agreed growth programmes Sector Development Visitor Economy SLA (£10.5k) with Sefton Council to support strategic, funding and marketing initiatives including: • Sector intelligence – Volume & Value, hotel occupancy and segmentation analysis. • Business Planning – Marketing Southport/BID alignment and commercial development plan. • Marketing – Produced Southport’s 3 year destination marketing strategy commencing 2018 • Funding - €40K Interreg for heritage development and tourist information fort Lord Street in Southport ; SIF Project - 1 additional member of staff for the Southport Convention Bureau, £150K support for Conferences & a new commercial subvention model. • Research - Southport visitor survey work and a yearlong programme of visitor survey work for the Sefton Coast • Governance – Inclusion of Sefton/Southport on the LEP’s Visitor Economy Board and the LCR VE officer group • Strategy – Commissioned by Sefton Council to write the 3 year Visitor Economy Strategy that will focus on Southport and the Sefton Coast. Sector Development Advanced Manufacturing Working with manufacturers across the City Region to help LCR become the UK’s leading location for digital manufacturing • LCR 4.0 working with UoL, LJMU and others to deliver the UK’s leading 4 th Industrial Revolution Business Support Programme • Digital Manufacturing Week 2017 and 2018 – Brought Europe’s leading event to Liverpool with 4,000 delegates and innovation showcase for local businesses • 2018/19: £20m Smarter NW Pilot secured launched in LCR to help our businesses to digitise for growth Health, Life Sciences, Digital • Health Innovation Exchange with Innovation Agency supporting 60 SMEs in the sector across LCR • Digital Infrastructure Action Plan for City Region developed with CA – inc realising Hibernia link potential • Funding Bids support for new Healthy Ageing and Infectious Diseases Programmes Education & Skills Schools Enterprise Advisor Network Volunteer enterprise advisors working with schools to embed and coordinate enterprise learning for children • 14 Sefton Schools Engaged Stanley High School; Holy Family Catholic High School; Christ The King Catholic High School and Sixth Form Centre; Birkdale High School; St Michael's Church of England High School; Meols Cop High School; Maghull High School; Formby High; Range High Newfield School; Rowan Park School; Merefield School; Crosby High School; Hugh Baird College Careers Hub Support for 34 Schools with enhanced support to improve the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks in every school • 8 Sefton Schools Engaged Chesterfield High School; Deyes High School; Greenbank High School; Hillside High School; Litherland High School; Maricourt High School; Sacred Heart Catholic High; Savio Salesian College Thank You Any Questions?.
