Family learning International Literacies week Day

The views family learning as an 8th September was International Literacies Day. To mark the “investment in ’s future, as it contributes to occasion learners in our ESOL class discussed the meaning and equality of opportunity by changing learning pattern importance of literacies for them and read about the history of within families. Families had an opportunity to enjoy doing relaxing activities with their children. Activities on offer included: board games, colouring/crafts, bag decorating and cake decorating.

We held a successful SQA ESOL preparation course and 11 “They wouldn’t do this at home but love it today – Parent Syrian Learners passed their National 2 ESOL Literacies

qualifications. Male learners are volunteering locally to give something back to the community.

Adult Learning in Ross &Cromarty

Supporting Literacy in Summer family and outdoor learning Academy During the Summer holidays we organised activities for We are continuing to work together with Dingwall Academy families in and Dingwall. We had nature walks to develop the skills of senior pupils to support adults and with the Country side Ranger family fun days. (outdoors other young people with their literacy skills. photo to add)

5 young people achieved module Unit: Raising Awareness of Adult Literacies earlier this year.

This term there are 6 young people aiming to complete the PDA SAAL- “Supporting Adult Literacies Learners.” The young people doing the award are volunteering at Ben Wyviss Primary, as part of the Pupil Equity scheme, which aims to improve literacy and numeracy of children and young people.
