Ministry of Information : 97 Israeli Violations Against Palestinian
Ministry of Information Government Media Office Ministry of Information : 97 Israeli violations against Palestinian journalists in latest aggression on Gaza The Government Media Office - Ministry of Information has documented an unprec- edented attack against press freedom by the Israeli occupation army in its most re- cent offensive against the Gaza Strip last May. The Office reported more than 97 violations against Palestinian journalists and their homes, vehicles and media offices. This attack is intended to suppress the truth and cover up Israeli violations against the Palestinian people by silencing the media or preventing media workers from as- suming their role, as the Israeli occupation government believes it has immunity from prosecution and accountability and acts above international law and norms, especially as no perpetrator of crimes against journalists and civilians have been p r o s e c u t e d . In a report, the office’s Monitoring and Follow Up Unit said that such violations marked an increase in violence against journalists and media organisations by Israeli occu- pation compared with the 2008, 2012, and 2014 onslaughts against the Gaza Strip. During its aggression on Gaza, Israeli occupation forces perpetrated several severe and grave violations against journalists and media outlets that amount to war crimes. The vast majority of these attacks were complicate crimes that have widespread short-and long-term consequences, paralyzing some media outlets for long periods of time. Also, there is a growing concern about many social, economic, physical, environmental and urban problems that have been attributed to many circumstances. Therefore, an exhaustive development process has to be implemented and significant efforts have to be made toward reforming sustainable development. Gaza city is taken as study area to model a new pattern of sustainable urban developmental planning, which supports land use, transportation planning, environment and all fields of growth management. While more empirical evidence is needed to verify cause and effect, and while all urban and technological aspects turn to reshape the starting point in planning process, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is seen as efficient and energetic trend to resolve the existing hard situations and actualize sustainable urban developmental planning. The thesis defines indicators, strategic transactions and scenarios that support the approach and help decision makers to identify priorities and develop quality of live. Also, it encourages community and stakeholders collaboration in developmental process. Besides, it explores new points for future development suggestions for further researches. The approach toward smart and sustainable urban development, and Transit Oriented Development that presented in this study is different from a transportation planning that envisions a comprehensive and complete plan as the final product of the process. -

Abstract The main objective of water resources management is to secure adequate quantity of good quality water in equitable manner. This could be achieved through a proper institutional management and participation of all stakeholders. The water management process in Palestine started since 1995-1996 by establishing Palestine Water authority (PWA) as water sector regulator and still ongoing up to date. In this study, various regional and international institutional configurations were reviewed and how those entities managed the sector. The state of problem in this thesis divided into two main parts the legal part and the institutional framework of the sector. Adaptive methodology was used through reviewing and comparing the four main laws (Water Law, Environmental Law, Agricultural Law and Public Health Law) together, and the institutional framework was restructured based on duties of each competent agency stated in laws, the principles of the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and the concepts of the Management and Transnet Framework (MTF).
