HYMN LYRICS SEE THE DESTINED DAY ARISE Orig. words by Venatius Fortunatus (530-600); Music/alt words byMatt Merker © 2014; CCLI #3044672

HIS FOREVER See the destined day arise! See a willing Sacrifice! Orig. words: James G. Small (1863); Music/alt words: Pat Sczebel; 2003 Sovereign Grace Worship; CCLI #3044672 Jesus, to redeem our loss, hangs upon a shameful cross: Jesus, Friend of sinners, loved me ‘ere I knew Him, Jesus, who but You could bear wrath so great and justice fair, Drew me with His cords of love, tightly bound me to Him. Every pang and bitter throe, finishing Your life of woe? ‘Round my heart still closely twined, the ties that none can sever For I am His, and He is mine forever and forever. Refrain: Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Lamb of God for sinners slain! Jesus, Friend of sinners, a crown of thorns You wore for me, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Bruised for my transgressions, pierced for my iniquities. Jesus Christ, we praise Your Name! The wrath of God that I deserved was poured out on the Innocent— He took my place, my soul to save; now I am His forever. Who but Christ had dared to drain, steeped in gall, the cup of pain, And with tender body bear thorns and nails and piercing spear? Jesus, Friend of sinners, I love to tell the story— Slain for us, the water flowed, mingled from Your side with blood: Redeeming love has been my theme and will be when in glory. Sign to all attesting eyes of the finished sacrifice. (Refrain) Not death nor life nor anything can ever separate me. O Love that will not let me go, yes, I am His forever. Holy Jesus, grant us grace in that sacrifice to place All our trust for life renewed, pardoned sin, and promised good. Grant us grace to sing Your praise ‘round Your throne through endless days. JERUSALEM Ever with the sons of light: “Blessing, honor, glory, might!” (Refrain) Niki Shepherd; 2014 CityAlight Music; CCLI #3044672 (repeat underlined phrases)

See Him in Jerusalem, walking where the crowds are. THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S Margaret Clarkson, 1962; CCLI #3044672 Once these streets had sung to Him, now they cry for murder.

Such a frail and lonely Man holding up the heavy cross. The battle is the Lord’s! The harvest fields are white; See Him walking in Jerusalem on the road to save us. How few the reaping hands appear, their strength so slight! Yet victory is sure—we face a vanquished foe; See Him there upon the hill, hear the scorn and laughter. Then forward with the risen Christ to battle go!

Silent as a lamb He waits, praying to the Father. The battle is the Lord’s! Not ours is strength or skill, See the King Who made the sun and the moon and shining stars But His alone, in sovereign grace, to work His will. Let the soldiers hold and nail Him down so that He could save them. Ours, counting not the cost, unflinching, to obey; And in His time, His holy arm shall win the day. See Him there upon the cross, now no longer breathing. Dust that formed the watching crowds takes the blood of Jesus. The battle is the Lord’s! The Victor crucified Must with the travail of His soul be satisfied. Feel the earth is shaking now, see the veil is split in two, The pow’rs of hell shall fail, and all God’s will be done, And He stood before the wrath of God shielding sinners with His blood. Till every soul whom He hath giv’n to Christ be won.

See the empty tomb today—death could not contain Him. The battle is the Lord’s! Stand still, my soul, and see Once the Servant of the world, now in vict'ry reigning. The great salvation God has wrought revealed for thee. Lift your voices to the One Who is seated on the throne. The, resting in His might, life high His triumph song, See Him in the New Jerusalem; praise the One Who saved us. For pow’r, dominion, kingdom, strength to Christ belong!
