ZOMBIES COVERS PAGE (Last Updated 12/3/16) ZOMBIES COVERS PAGE (last updated 12/3/16) This is a list of covers of songs by The Zombies and some affiliated entities. For the most part, the covers are commercial recordings, issued on 45s, LPs, CDs, or other accepted media. We also allow live covers and even YouTube submissions by reasonably professional or competent artists. Some songs incorporating samples, altered versions of the original Zombies issues, and plagiarisms are also included. Some of the inclusion decisions may be deemed as arbitrary, and can certainly be discussed among us friends. This is currently the first such version of the list that has been posted, and so it’s only a minimalistic version that is wildly incomplete. In fact, we have not included numerous fields from the database such as label, city, and YouTube access information, nor have we included numerous interesting notes regarding several of the entries. In addition, there are still many, many covers that we haven’t gotten around to entering yet (e.g., the entirety of Ben Mason’s wonderful Odessey and Oracle tribute, among lots of others). Moreover, we’re still playing around with the format. So please be patient… lots of good stuff is coming up. In any case, if you have any comments, inclusions, etc., please send an email to [email protected]. All are cheerfully accepted. Sincere thanks go to the terrific folks who have contributed to the list over the years. Here is a partial list that will be updated shortly: Andrew Deas, Alec Palao (Zombieheaven), Charles Patton, Christine R, Dave Goldsman, Frans deGraaff, Greg Russo, Hitomi Ishikawa, Jorgen Johansson, Jerry Ramsey, Liz Hays, Lisa Siegel, Mike Goldsman, Mike Griffiths, Shane Stein, Ted Zeppelin, Ugly Things. Mixed Media December Online Supplement | Long Island Pulse http://www.lipulse.com/blog/article/mixed-media-december-online-supp... currently 43°F and mostly cloudy on Long Island search advertise | subscribe | free issue Mixed Media December Online Supplement Published: Wednesday, December 09, 2009 U.K. Music Travelouge Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out and Gimmie Shelter As a followup to our profile of rock photographer Ethan Russell in the November issue, we will now give a little more information on the just-released Rolling Stones projects we discussed with Russell. First up is the reissue of the Rolling Stones album Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out!. What many consider the best live rock concert album of all time is now available from Abcko in a four-disc box set. Along with the original album there is a disc of five previously unreleased live performances and a DVD of those performances. There is a also a bonus CD of five live tracks from B.B. King and seven from Ike & Tina Turner, who were the opening acts on the tour. There is also a beautiful hardcover book with an essay by Russell, his photographs, fans’ notes and expanded liner notes, along with a lobby card-sized reproduction of the tour poster. Russell’s new book, Let It Bleed (Springboard), is now finally out and it’s a stunning visual look back on the infamous tour and the watershed Altamont concert. Russell doesn’t just provide his historic photos (which would be sufficient), but, like in his previous Dear Mr. Fantasy book, he serves as an insightful eyewitness of the greatest rock tour in history and rock music’s 60’s live Waterloo.

I mentioned many weeks ago, if veteran military man, Putnam had served we made it back to these levels it would get very interesting, as those who took the as a lieutenant in the Connecticut militia tumble would have an opportunity to get out of the market with most of their money during the French and Indian War, where back in their account.

  • "WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC: POLKAS, PARODIES and the POWER of SATIRE by Chuck Miller Originally Published in Goldmine #514
"WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC: POLKAS, PARODIES AND THE POWER OF SATIRE By Chuck Miller Originally published in Goldmine #514 Al Yankovic strapped on his accordion, ready to perform. All he had to do was impress some talent directors, and he would be on The Gong Show, on stage with Chuck Barris and the Unknown Comic and Jaye P. Morgan and Gene Gene the Dancing Machine. "I was in college," said Yankovic, "and a friend and I drove down to LA for the day, and auditioned for The Gong Show. And we did a song called 'Mr. Frump in the Iron Lung.' And the audience seemed to enjoy it, but we never got called back. So we didn't make the cut for The Gong Show." But while the Unknown Co mic and Gene Gene the Dancing Machine are currently brain stumpers in 1970's trivia contests, the accordionist who failed the Gong Show taping became the biggest selling parodist and comedic recording artist of the past 30 years. His earliest parodies were recorded with an accordion in a men's room, but today, he and his band have replicated tracks so well one would think they borrowed the original master tape, wiped off the original vocalist, and superimposed Yankovic into the mix. And with MTV, MuchMusic, Dr. Demento and Radio Disney playing his songs right out of the box, Yankovic has reached a pinnacle of success and longevity most artists can only imagine. Alfred Yankovic was born in Lynwood, California on October 23, 1959. Seven years later, his parents bought him an accordion for his birthday.

It is the .580" Wicked Piston!” Mike Mangini Dream Theater L. 16 3/4" • 42.55cm | D .580" • 1.47cm VHMMWP Mike Mangini’s new unique design starts out at .580” in the grip and UNIQUE TOP WEIGHTED DESIGN UNIQUE TOP increases slightly towards the middle of the stick until it reaches .620” and then tapers back down to an acorn tip. Mike’s reason for this design is so that the stick has a slightly added front weight for a solid, consistent “throw” and transient sound. With the extra length, you can adjust how much front weight you’re implementing by slightly moving your fulcrum .580" point up or down on the stick. You’ll also get a fat sounding rimshot crack from the added front weighted taper.
