The Northern Regions Junior Championships and Platinum Offroad Club series for Motorcycles and Quads as well as Northern Regions and Platinum Offroad Series for Cars.

Held under the General Competion Rules (GCR's) and Standing Supplementary Regulations (SSR's) of Motorsport - (hereafter referred to as MSA), and these Supplementary Regulations (SR's) together with any Final Instructions and/or Official Bulletins, which may be issued to competitors.

On Friday evening there will be braaipacks with pap and salads available as well as fires for those who wish to braai. A cash bar and kiosk will also be in operation.

5. FORMAT AND STATUS 5.1 The event will be known as the VRYBURG – PIET PLESSIS 200 and will be run in the PIET PLESSIS area. The event will start at 07h00 on Saturday 28th May 2011 and will be deemed to have finished once the results are final. 5.2 The MSA flag will be flown for the duration of the event. 5.3 The event will count towards the 2011 Northern Regions Motorsport Off Road Championships as well as the 2011 Platinum Off Road Series. 5.4 Race Headquarters will be at the PIET PLESSIS BOERESAAL, about 2km from PIET PLESSIS on the VERGELEË road. Follow markers on all main roads leading to Piet Plessis.

6. DESCRIPTION

6.1 Competitors who have not completed documentation and scrutineering will not be permitted to start. Competitors will be required to complete the documentation and scrutineering formalities as detailed in SR 4.2. Car competitors will be allocated a starting position as their time trail results with 1 minute intervals. 6.2 Car Racing Sections Racing section 1 (Time Trial) of 1 lap of 20km. Racing section 2 will be approximately 200km, comprising of 2 laps with a service point after each lap.

6.3 Jnr Motorcycle and quads Racing Section The junior Motorcycle and Quads racing section will comprise of three or four 30km loops or 1h30 / 2hrs racing time respectively. NOTE: THIS IS A LAP RACE AND THERE WILL BE ONE DESIGNATED SERVICE POINT AT THE END OF EACH LOOP.

6.4 Food and beverages will be on sale at PIET PLESSIS BOERESAAL on Saturday 28th May 2011

6.7 The Clerk of the Course reserves the right (subject to the approval of the Stewards of the meeting) to: 6.7.1. Alter the departure times and route if forced to do so through weather conditions, or for any other reason; 6.7.2. Alter the scoring methods, if it is found to be necessary to do so; 6.7.3. Alter the times stated in the clauses of these Supplementary Regulations

6.8 The promotors/organisers reserves the right (subject to the approval of MSA to postpone or cancel the event for reasons of “force majeure” Refer to GCRs 62 and 244 of the 2010 MSA Handbook.

7.2 Judges of Fact The names and responsibilities of the appointed Judges of Fact will be displayed on the Official Notice Board prior to the start of the event. ROVING JUDGES OF FACT WILL BE APPOINTED TO OBSERVE COMPLIANCE WITH SSR 309. (i) COMPETITORS ARE REMINDED THAT IT IS COMPULSARY FOR THEM TO STOP AND ASCERTAIN WHETHER IT IS SAFE TO CROSS IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER AN OFFICIAL (TRAFFIC OFFICER OR OTHERWISE) INDICATES THAT THEY SHOULD PROCEED.

8. ELIGIBILITY AND PRE-START REQUIREMENTS 8.1 Competitors 1. All competitors must comply with SSR 300 2. All competitors to have medical tag on wrist 3. Competitors require a minimum of a club licence in order to participate in the Platinum Off Road Series event & a regional licence in order to participate in the Northern regions Championships. 4. No club licence will be for sale on the day 8.2 Advertising Refer to GCR 246 (iii), GCR 247 and SSR 301 (I). 8.3 Acquintance with and submission to the Rules Competitors attention is drawn to GCR 122

9. CREW AND CHANGE OF CREW OR VEHICLE 9.1 Refer to SSR 300 (iv). 9.2 A change of crew or vehicle, but not both, may be permitted by the Stewards of the Meeting, in terms of GCRs 99 (vii), 152 (viii), 238 (I) and 259. Any application for such change must be made, in writing, and will only be permitted prior to the crew having completed documentation, refer SSR 300 (iv). 10. CLASSES

10.1 DESCRIPTION OF JNR BIKES AN QUAD CLASSES:

Class 1: Jnr Motorcycle 65cc, 85cc and Pitt bikes 150cc (4 stroke Ages 8-12yrs) Class 2: Jnr Motorcycle 85cc, 105cc (2-stroke) and 150cc (4 stroke Ages 12 – 15yrs) Class 3: Jnr Motorcycle 125cc, 200cc and 250cc (4 stroke) Class 4: Jnr Modified Quads 200cc and 300cc (4 strokes) Class 5: Jnr Hybrids Quads (Hybrids and 400cc 4 stroke STD) Class 6: Junior Open 450cc

10.2 DESCRIPTION OF CARS CLASSES

10.2.1 Vehicles will be divided into classes as contained in Part 11 for Vehicle Specifications part IV of the Off Road Regulations in the MSA handbook as ammended 10.2.2 Special Vehicles – B , P (Northern Regions) , B, P, C (Platinum) 10.2.3 Production Vehicles – D , E (Northern Regions) D, E, F (Platinum)

11. ENTRIES 11.1 GENERAL Entries open immediately and close at 17h00 on Thursday, 26th May 2011, by which time properly completed entry forms accompanied by prescibed fee must be in the possession of the organisers. The organisers reserve the right to limit the number of entries to a maximum of eighty (80) per category. Entries in excess of this will be selected in accordance of GCR 101 and SSR 300 (v). Should a competitor be uncertain of whether he will be able to compete, he should nevertheless submit an entry. Should he then be unable to compete he should inform the organisers, in writing, by no later than 17h00, Friday 27th May 2011. If the organisers are in receipt of such a withdrawal of entry they will refund the entry fee less a R50-00 handling fee to the entrant.

11.2 ENRTY FEES

These entry fees include the regional Levy as well as MSA Levy but DO NOT INCLUDE a meal ticket.

11.3 FAXED / EMAIL ENTRIES Faxed or e-mailed entries will be accepted in accordance with GCR 96.

Competitors wishing to enter by fax or email may deposit their entry fee directly into the PROMOTORS bank account as detailed below and are to fax a copy of the deposit slip together with their entry form to the number given below. PLEASE ENTER YOUR COMPETITION NUMBER AND NAME UNDER THE REFERENCE ON THE DEPOSIT SLIP TO ENSURE THAT IT GETS CREDITED TO THE CORRECT ENTRY. 11.4 LATE ENTRIES No late entries will be accepted on the day.

12. RACE HEADQUATERS AND OFFICIAL NOTICE BOARD

12.1 RACE HEADQUATERS Race Headquaters will be situated at Piet Plessis Boeresaal, District Piet Plessis 12.2 OFFICIAL NOTICE BOARD The Official Notice Board will be situated at Piet Plessis Boeresaal. All results and Official Notices will be posted on this board and competitors are requested to check the Official Notice board periodically. 13. DOCUMENTATION AND PRE-EVENT SCRUTINEERING 13.1 All competitors will be required to complete documentation and pre-event scrutineering as detaled in SSR 3.2

14. PIT AREA 14.1 The Sponsors, Promotors and /or Organisers cannot be held liable for any loss or damage to vehicles left in this area. 15. REFEULING AND DESIGNATED SERVICE POINT 15.1 Designated Service Point The designated Service Point will be at Piet Plessis Boeresaal. 15.2 Competitors attention is drawn to SSR 316 regarding refuelling regulations and to GCR 240 regarding fuel. 16. FINISH AND ROUTE CHECK CONTROL CARDS 16.1 The finish of the event will take the form of a timed control point, refer SSR 306 (I). The chequered flag will be shown to the leading competitors in all categories, however, they will not necessarily be the winners of the event. The competitor's elapsed time on the Vryburg – Piet Plessis 200 together with any penalties, will be used to determine the competitor's total time for the event. The competitors in each category with the least total time will be declared the winners of the event. Refer also to SSR 307. 16.2 All competitors will be issued with a route check control card at documentation. Loss of this card may result in the competitor concerned be classified as a non-finisher of the event. The onus rests with the competitor to hand in his route check card on completion of the event.

17. PARC FERMÉ 17.1 Refer to GCR 252, SSR 310 (ii), and SSR 335. The organisers may, at their discretion, carry out post-event scrutineering. Refer to GCR 254. 18. TIME BAR 18.1 The Time Bar for the VRYBURG – PIET PLESSIS 200 on Saturday 28th May 2011 will be held as stipulated in Programme of events. In terms of SSR 307 (ii) the Clerk of the Course may extend these time bars at his descretion. A time bar will operate at the Designated Service Point, refer SR 4.3. 18.2 Should a competitor arrive at the Designated Service Point after the time bar specified in SR 3.3 (or extended by the Clerk of the Course) he will be time barred from the event. He will be required to hand in his route check control card, will be excluded from the results and will be instructed to return to Race Headquaters by the most direct route. The Organisers will not be responsible for sweeping and/or medical recovery of any competitor who disregards a marchal's instructions in this regard. 19. SWEEPS AND RECOVERY 19.1 A radio sweep will be conducted. The Organisers will not be responsible for recovering stranded crews, vehicles or spares, but will endeavour to provide service crews with as much information as possible regarding stranded crews. 20. COMPETITOR CONDUCT 20.1 Accidents/Incidents Refer to SSR 317 (i) and SSR 344 20.2 Incident Report Forms Refer to SSR 317 (iii) and SSR 343 (I) The onus rests on the competitor to ensure that he SUBMITS HIS incident report form. 20.3 Retirements Refer to SSR 317 (v) 20.4 Route 20.4.1 Livestock and game may be encountered along the route and you are requested to give them the right of way at all times. 20.4.2 In many places the route may be narrow and dust may be a problem, you should therefore afford any competitor who has caught up with you every opportunity to overtake. 20.4.3 The residents in the area have afforded the Organisers the priviledge of staging this event through both populated and remote areas. Please exercise caution through villages and cultivated areas and where livestock is encountered. In order that this event may be staged in the future, competitors are requested to act responsibly. 20.4.4 Passage through villages: Please note that the maximum speed through villages or settlements is 60kph. 20.4.5 Competitors are not permitted to overtake within the confines of a village or settlement. 20.5 Medical Assistance The following medical assistance will be available to competitors during the course of the event: 20.5.1. Two medical rescue teams will be based at Race Headquaters and will be in radio contact with Race Control and the marshals along the route.

Competitors are requested to be considerate to landowners when retrieving stranded racing vehicles from the route and to ensure that the damage to cultivated and grazing land is avoided. Failure to comply with this will result in disciplinary action being taken against the competitor concerned.

21. PENALTIES 21.1 Refer to SSR 318 and SSR 343 21.2 The penalty for contravention of SR 20.4.4 and 20.4.5 will be fifteen (15) minutes. 22. RESULTS 22.1 Provisional results for the event will be posted as soon as possible after time bar on Saturday, 28th May 2011, at Race Headquaters. Refer SR 4.3 and GCR 200. 22.2 Competitor's attention is drawn to parts IX an X and Appendix “R” of the MSA Handbook regarding protests and appeals. 22.3 Should there be an unreasonable delay in announcing the results the Stewards of the Meeting may postpone such announcement, refer to GCR 280 (ii). 23. PRIZE GIVING 23.1 Prize Giving will commence once the results are final on Saturday 28th May 2011. The venue for the prize Giving will be Piet Plessis Boeresaal. 23.2 Refer SR 4 – Programme of events and SR 22 – Results 24. AWARDS 24.1 All awards will be presented to the crew of the vehicles unless the entrant claims the awards in writing upon entering the event. Refer to GCR 281 (I). 24.2 Competitors must be classified as finishers of the event to be eligible for awards that are based on the final results of the event. Refer to GCR 281 (iv). This however, does not apply to any awards based on the results of the Prologue, or certain special awards, which the organisers may choose to make. 24.3 All awards will be distributed at prize giving. Any competitor not present and who has not made a prior arrangement with the Clerk of the Course or Secretary of the Meeting shall forfeit all such awards. Competitots attention is drawn to GCR 280 (iii).

24.5 Class Awards

CARS:

Class awards will be made to competitors placed first, second and third in each class for special and production vehicles.

MOTORCYCLES AND QUADS:

Class awards will be made to competitors placed 1st to 5th in each class.

25. RIGHTS OF THE CLERK OF THE COURSE/PROMOTORS AND ORGANISERS 25.1 The Clerk of the Course reserves the right (subject to the approval of the Stewards of the Meeting) to: 1. Alter the departure time and route if forced to do so through weather conditions, or for any other reasons; 2. Alter the starting and scoring methods, if it is found necessary to do so. 25.2 The Promotors/ Organisers reserve the right (subject to the approval of MSA) to: 1. Postpone, abandon or cancel the event for reasons of “Force Majeure” (Refer to GCR 62 and 244). In the event of postponement for more that 24 hours, entrants will be entitled to a refund of their entry fee, refer to GCR 109 (iv); 2. Postpone, abandon or cancel the event if fewer than fifty (50) paid entries are received by the date and time of entries closing, refer to GCR 99 (v); 3. Refuse any entry, refer to GCR 99 (I) and 100.

26. ENVIRONMENTAL CODE 26.1 Competitors attention is drawn to MSA Environmental Code 18.7 and 14.13.3 26.2 The use of Environmental mats during servicing is compulsary. IN THE CASE OF CONFIRMED SPILLAGE, A FINE OF R1000 WILL BE LEVIED AND THE RELEVANT CREWS WILL HAVE TO CLEAN UP THE SPILLAGE TO THE LANDOWNERS SATISFACTION AND PAY THE COSTS THEREOF.

Crossing of Public/District Roads

As the organizer we have fully acquainted ourselves with SSR 341 of the MSA Non Circuit handbook with regards to crossing of public/district roads. We the organizers are also aware and have acquainted ourselves with the provisions of Section 317 of the Road Traffic Act and confirm that the event officials have been made aware of the above section. By allowing the event to proceed we accept that all requirements are complied with and where applicable all relevant permissions are in place.

27. GENERAL We thank all the sponsors for their contributions. In the event of anyone being injured, competitors must stop and render whatever assistance may be necessary. The next marchal must be informed as soon as possible in order to summon medical assistance. WHEN AN ABULANCE IS ENCOUNTERED ON THE ROUTE, IT HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY AT ALL TIMES!

ROUTE TO PIET PLESSIS

There are two routes that can be taken to reach Piet Plessis. One route starts at Stella, and the other at Vryburg.

1. From Vryburg on the Mafikeng road up to Stella. Turn left in Stella and follow the Dirkiesrus road to Piet Plessis – 70 km 2. From Vryburg on the road. Approximately 1,5 km out of Vryburg, turn left on the Beesdam road. Keep on until you reach Piet Plessis – 100km 3. From Mafikeng. On the Mafikeng road up to Stella. Follow instructions of nr1 4. From . Follow Delareyville Vryburg road. Approximately 2 km out of Delareyville, turn right on the Kameel road. Through Kameel up to Stella. Follow same route as in nr1 from Stella.

Roadmarkers are on both routes. Route signs will be available in Piet Plessis on both main routes to reach the Boeresaal.
