Punjab Land Records Society,Rupnagar 12-Apr-18 29 Sewa Kendra In order to provide efficient and transparent governance to the people at their doorsteps, the Government has setup 'Sewa Kendras' where people have been availing 243 services under one roof. This is a step towards ensuring governance reforms in the state. These centres have been acting as a catalyst to help people in getting their routine administrative works done in a speedy manner. The kendras have minimized public interaction with various offices and enhanced the efficiency of the administration and delivery of services to common people.  72 Sewa kendras are operational at District Rupnagar for Citizen service delivery which are divided as follows:-

Type 1- 1 Type 2 -15 Type 3 -56 Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MG-NREGA) Scheme

The MGNREGA scheme was initiated with the objective of "enhancing livelihood security in rural areas by providing at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year, to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work". Another aim of MGNREGA is to create durable assets (such as roads, canals, ponds, wells). Employment is to be provided within 5 km of an applicant's residence, and minimum wages are to be paid. If work is not provided within 15 days of applying, applicants are entitled to an unemployment allowance. Thus, employment under MGNREGA is a legal entitlement

MG-NREGA Scheme, started in April 2008, has been successfully implemented in district Rupnagar and has clearly established the efficiency of Panchayati Raj system. The Sarpanches, Panches and all the employees of Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Nodal Officers, Panchayat Samitis, Zila Prishad and other village organizations have contributed for the implementation of this scheme. Concept of social audit by villagers also used in checking the scheme provided transparency and accountability mechanism. There have been lot of improvement in the villages and personal life of beneficiaries also improved substantially. Atta Dal Scheme

Atta-Dal Scheme was launched by the Government of Punjab (Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs) in 2007 for distributing food grain at a subsidized rate. Under this scheme, Punjab government distributes food grains at the highly subsidized rate to the poor below poverty line (BPL) families. The AAY (Antodiya Amm Yojna) ration card holders are also eligible for the Atta-Dal Scheme. Under the New Atta Dal scheme, the government decided to double the number of people who would benefit from the scheme. People who own less than 2.5 acres of land and have income of less than 60,000 per annum are eligible for Atta-Dal Scheme. The distribution will be done at the doorstep of the beneficiary directly by the department. The objective of Atta-Dal Scheme is to provide food grains to the BPL families on really low economical rates. The price of the food is increasing day by day due to inflation and under such circumstances, the condition of the poor families has become vulnerable since they do not have resources to purchase food grains at market rates. This is a very noble initiative taken by Punjab Government for helping the poor and deprived families to provide them wheat and rice at low price Mahatama Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna Punjab state government has started the Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojana (MGSVY) to provide benefits of the govt. schemes to the rural people. Subsequently, this scheme aims to promote inclusive development through socio-economic development schemes for those people who are eligible but are not getting the benefits. Accordingly, Punjab govt focuses to identify such people and ensures that they get due benefits of various government schemes.

Under this scheme, Punjab govt. will provide financial support to weaker sections who are deprived of benefits. This scheme includes old age pension schemes, marriage/shagun scheme, education schemes and scholarship schemes. This scheme will ensure Gender Equality and Social Justice to the poor sections of the society. Subsequently, this scheme will provide benefits to the debt ridden farmers, persons suffering from severe diseases, students belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(Gramin) PMAY (G) was implemented by the Government of on 20-11-2016 with an aim to provide affordable housing to Rural poor.

The beneficiaries found eligible for a new house would have to pay Rs. 120,000 in three installments for the first installment of Rs. 30,000 (25% ) After the completion, second installment of Rs. 72,000 (60%), after the completion of the house level of the buildings and the mobile inspection, the house will be given 18,000 rupees (15%) after inspection. In addition to this, the amount of Rs. 12,000 will be given separately by Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) or MG-NREGA to make a toilet for the house. Under MG-NREGA Scheme Rs 233 per day (maximum Rs 20, 970 for 90 days) will be given to the any one family of beneficiaries for construction of the house. Under this scheme, 2626 beneficiaries were selected in the Dist. and in the year 2016-17
