Being fully vaccinated, I’m enjoying Susan Ohmer, Ph.D. opportunities to socialize, but I’m still being cautious. I plan to take some time off this summer, sure looking forward to it! Vice Chair Robert G. Douglass PBS Michiana – WNIT is declaring this summer one to “Celebrate the St. Joe.” On September President and 9th, we will premiere the documentary Then, Now and Always…The St. Joseph River Story. To lead General Manager up to the premiere, communities from the headwaters (Hillsdale County, MI) to Lake Michigan Greg Giczi are going to be recognizing the importance of the St. Joseph River to our region. There will be Treasurer festivals, art exhibits, museum exhibits, special events at libraries and other creative expressions of William J. Schmuhl, Jr. our love of the St. Joe. Ganey, Ph.D. Susan Ohmer, Ph.D. Dear WNIT Supporters: President and General Manager I wish our WNIT Planner magazine could be monthly, rather than bimonthly. I always have Greg Giczi so many interesting items to share with you and I hate to wait so long between editions to pass Treasurer them along. I am particularly proud of the special local programs coming up in May and June. Thomas E. Slager The next of our “Legends of Michiana” series of documentaries will have its broadcast Secretary premiere on Monday, May 25th at 8pm. We will honor Elkhart’s own Arthur J. Decio – father, Cari Shein grandfather, entrepreneur, businessman, philanthropist, mentor, and Michiana’s mayor of Directors . Those of us who have previewed this program have all been inspired by it. I think David L. Bankoff, MD Sesame Street Thomas G. Coley, Ph.D. you will be too. Marvin Curtis Katy Demarais The City of South Bend has a big birthday this year. It celebrates its 150th year as a city, Robert G. Douglass “SB150”. WNIT will contribute to marking this event with three programs. The first two are Irene E. Eskridge coming up in May and June. Rebecca Espinoza-Kubacki William A. Gitlin On Friday night, May 22nd, we will have a special Experience Michiana with Gordy Young. -

Douglass everyone for making that stretch to either maintain your current annual gift or increasing it a bit. President and I have to plug our Sustainer Plan as making it easy on your budget. I hope you can sense my continual General Manager appreciation for your support, your viewership, your advocacy, and your financial support.
