Everyone should arrive 5-10 minutes early, dressed and ready to go. More instructions on costume care and wear are included with the costumes. Times listed below. For Picture Day: Every group will be taking off their masks briefly to take the group photo and will put them back on after it is taken. Once the group photo is taken, your dancer can change into their other costume for an individual photo (if you choose to order), or they can line up in the costume they are already wearing for their individual. For their individual photo, they can wear their mask or choose to take it off; the decision is up to you. Integer metus. Change a sleeve, a collar, the shape of a skirt – and you’ve just designed a new style! 4 When paging through a magazine or watching TV or a movie, do you notice what people are wearing and think, “That looks fabulous!” Or – “Wow, that’s not a good style for her shape.” One of the first steps to designing your own clothes is recognizing good design and what appeals to you when you see it on someone else. Do you often look at a garment and think, “I love that neckline”, or “What a beautiful sleeve”, or “I love the way that skirt flows”. If you do, then you are a designer! Being able to pick out styling details – and identify why you like a particular garment – allows you to get inspiration from those details and use them in your own designs.

A Canine Musical of Kindness, Courage, and Calamity 2nd Grade Musical February 13th 6:30 show (students arrive at 6pm) Johnson/Phipps/Ramirez/Suggs 7:15 show (students arrive at 6:45) Gensler/Brumfield/Casey/Espinoza Dear parents, We are excited about our upcoming show and can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on! Auditions are complete and below you will see the costume assigned to your child’s class. If your student is bringing home a script they need to be dressed as the character listed for their assigned part. Costumes can be as simple or elaborate as you would like to make them! A very basic costume idea would be to do a solid color sweat suit with a pair of ears on their head. Please do not cover their faces, but a little faceprint would be great! If you want to attach ears to a headband or ball cap that might help them stay on. See below for more detailed description of costume for your class! Military Dogs - Johnson and Espinoza Everyone needs either a green camo shirt or pants. Use a brown or black top/pants to go with it along with pointy ears and tail! Ears can be attached to a camo hat as well. Instead of a collar, dog tags would be great! Dalmations - Suggs and Brumfield Solid white shirt and pants. Add black spots however you would like. They need a pair of matching ears and tail, and a red “collar” - a red ribbon around their neck would be perfect! Boxers - Boys from Phipps, Ramirez, Casey, and Gensler Brown sweatpants and sweatshirts.

    Broadway Costumes Costume Rentals How-To’s, Contract Terms & Conditions Rental Rates & Deposits: The basic rental period is 2 nights. We do not charge for any days that Broadway Costumes is closed. Additional days rent at the rate of 20% per day plus tax. Special weekly rates and “play” rates may apply. Just inquire as to your special needs. Deposits are required and are usually twice the amount required as the stated rental rate up to and including the current retail value. Minimum deposit is $20. Deposits are not refundable for any cancellations unless 1 (one) week or more in advance, then 50% refunded. The deposit is NOT part of the rental balance. The entire rental balance is due when the costume is picked up. Deposits may be made by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) or by cash. Deposits are refunded after costume return and any applicable fees are paid. Rental Return: You must return all rented items by the date stated on the contract. Items not returned on the specified date are subject to a late fee of 20% of the basic rental rate per day late plus tax. Alterations by Broadway Costumes: Alterations and cleaning are normally included in the rental price. However, alterations may take up to two weeks at peak seasons; faster service may require an additional service charge. Alterations by Customer: NO ALTERATIONS are allowed by the customer. Any alterations done outside of Broadway Costumes will be considered as damage and will result in assessed fees. Smoking and Eating While in Costume: Be very cautious.

By learning about skirts, including how they are defined and the types of skirts available, shoppers are able to learn the differences between high-waist and low-rise skirts. Customers can see how women wear these types of skirts, and how they can be seen as appropriate or inappropriate in daily life. What are Skirts? Skirts are generally classified into categories due to distinguishing features. Most all skirts follow the same basic concept: a piece of fabric formed around the waist into either a tube or cone shape. Most often, these skirts are women's wear. However, in certain cultures, men wear skirts. Scottish men sometimes wear a kilt to express their national identity. Over time, skirts have evolved from metres of fabric to just enough fabric to cover one's bottom. Types of Skirts There are dozens of types of skirts.

  • Consequence for Inappropriate Dress Code
    Students and faculty are encouraged to exhibit their Trojan Pride Homecoming week by participating in the following Show Your Trojan Spirit days. All students must adhere to the school dress code policy as stated below and in the Parent and Student Handbook: Shorts and skirts MUST be the proper length Jeans, sweatpants, yoga legwear and/or anything with glitter are not allowed Do not bring toys/items as props, which may be considered weapons such as plastic knives/swords, toy guns, etc. Clothing and/or make-up should not be degrading to any culture, ethnicity, gender, etc. Masks/paint may be worn to cover one’s face; however, it must be removed immediately upon request of a faculty member. Caps/Hats must be removed upon entering each classroom and when eating lunch in the cafeteria area. When in doubt, ask the administration before arriving to school out of dress code. CONSEQUENCE FOR INAPPROPRIATE DRESS CODE If a student chooses not to follow the school’s dress code guidelines, he/she will be asked to immediately contact his/her parent/guardian and receive consequences deemed necessary by administration. MONDAY – DECADE DAY: Dress in a poodle skirt or slick back hair for the 50’s, a “hippie’ from the 60’s or Disco style for the 70’s, etc. TUESDAY – OCCUPATIONAL DAY: Dress as your future profession – Physician/Medical Field, Coach/Teacher, Pilot, Police Officer, Fireman, Military, Zookeeper, etc. WEDNESDAY – HOLIDAY DAY: Wear your favorite holiday attire - Santa, Mrs. Claus or elf for Christmas, Easter Bunny, Leprechaun for St. Patrick’s Day, Pilgrim for Thanksgiving, etc.

The first division is the three (3) digit NATIONAL COSTUME CLASSIFICATION. The second division is the three (3) digit LITTLE THEATER PLAYERS CLASSIFICATION. The third division is the three (3) digit item sequence number. EXAMPLE: COSTUME # 185-601-003 185 – FRONTIER 601 – MEN’S LONG JOHNS 003 – THIRD ITEM OF FRONTIER MEN’S LONG JOHNS Preprinted file cards will be filled out for each costume. The nine digit costume number will be placed on each item. The number may be placed on the costume using one of three ways. 1. printed on a label and ironed onto the costume 2. printed directly on the costume using a laundry marker 3. printed on a tag and attached to the costume. The cards will be entered into a computer database file. A list of costumes can be printed and an inventory can be taken as needed. Missing cards can be reprinted when necessary. The inventory cards will be placed in a file in the costume room. Costumes should be placed in numeric order for easy access and inventory control. As each costume is rented, the card will be pulled from the file and placed in the DATED RETURN FILE. Each numbered costume will be inspected when leaving and arriving at the costume room. Notations will be made on the file card listing costume defects and a hash mark will be recorded in the space called USED TO DATE to record each time rented or used.

    Introduction: Clothing is defined, in its broadest sense, as coverings for the torso and limbs as well as coverings for the hands (gloves), feet (socks, shoes, sandals, boots) and head (hats, caps). Humans nearly universally wear clothing, which is also known as dress, garments, attire, or apparel. People wear clothing for functional as well as for social reasons. Clothing protects the vulnerable nude human body from the extremes of weather, other features of our environment, and for safety reasons. But every article of clothing also carries a cultural and social meaning. People also decorate their bodies with makeup or cosmetics, perfume, and other ornamentation; they also cut, dye, and arrange the hair of their heads, faces, and bodies (see hairstyle), and sometimes also mark their skin (by tattoos, scarifications, and piercings). All these decorations contribute to the overall effect and message of clothing, but do not constitute clothing per se. Articles carried rather than worn (such as purses, canes, and umbrellas) are normally counted as fashion accessories rather than as clothing. Jewelry and eyeglasses are usually counted as accessories as well, even though in common speech these items are described as being worn rather than carried. Among the clothing, skirt is a tube- or cone-shaped garment which hangs from the waist and covers all or part of the legs. Unlike trousers, a skirt is "unbifurcated" — that is, not divided into separate legs. A dress (also frock, gown) is a garment consisting of a skirt with an attached bodice or with a matching bodice giving the effect of a one-piece garment.

It is an urban comprehensive high school with a student body of diverse abilities and backgrounds. We are working hard to create an environment that will allow our students to reach their goals and full potential both academically and socially. The students I teach vary through grades nine through twelve. Their ability and general knowledge of the subjects also varies. Some students deal with many problems and many lack a strong feeling of self-esteem and basic reading and math skills, yet the school is unique in its own way because there are many schools within this school. My school offers programs such as the Macy's Programs, School to Work, Art Magnet, and many more; however, there are some programs in the school that are given little and insufficient attention, including the family and consumer science program, better known as home economics. This program is offered as an elective and due to its mandating through the state, only fifteen students are allowed per class. The program, given the appropriate attention, will allow our students to excel. The benefits of taking Family and Consumer Science classes are it builds self-esteem through the knowledge of applicable skills that can be used in later stages of life, for example, as a vocation or possible career, a better understanding of how clothes are influenced by styles of the past, gain an insight into fashion that will satisfy both immediate and long range goals, improving social skills and decision making skills, selecting appropriate clothing for different occasions, personal satisfaction, and increased understanding of history, literature, and art to build knowledge about artist and designers.
