Skate Canada is looking for a local host for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships ® 2024 to be held March 14‐24, 2024. Skate Canada is now accepting expression of interest (EOI) from interested parties to be the local host for this event.

The local host will have two (2) primary functions to execute for this Championship  Provide team of volunteers to carry out required functions under the direction of Skate Canada  In cooperation with Skate Canada, plan and execute Community Engagement strategy

The EOI process and vendor selection for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships ® 2024 will be managed by Skate Canada.

The hosting of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2024 requires a strong partnership among the Host Skate Canada Section, the Venue, the Local Municipality and the Province or Territory. THEREFORE, the aforenamed partners must endorse the Bid in writing.

2. Bid Considered Official

The delivery of a Bid provides the Bidder’s formal intention to be considered as the Host of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2024 and is considered binding on the Bidder.

3. Host Skate Canada Section Payment

Following the selection process, Skate Canada will enter into a Hosting Agreement with the successful Bidder that describes the rights and obligations of both parties. Among other things, the agreement will provide for a payment to be made to the Host Skate Canada Section for their contributions. For clarity, the Host Skate Canada Section payment will not exceed ten percent (10%) of confirmed local municipality and provincial government funding plus twenty percent (20%) of the cash value of any local sponsorship or VIK incentive sourced by the LOC to a maximum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000). Skate Canada confirms that a legacy plan to benefit figure skating in Canada will be developed in connection with the event. Should a legacy be generated from the hosting of the event, the host local community and province will benefit.

PART 2: OVERVIEW

4. Scope

Skate Canada is searching for a host for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2024. An official application to host this event will be submitted to the ISU in accordance with the ISU’s call for applications in 2021. Should Skate Canada’s application be successful, this event would be organized and executed by Skate Canada in collaboration with the International Skating Union and the successful Bidder.

The arena will be required from March 14, 2024 (06:00) until Sunday, March 24, 2024 (23:59) according to the following schedule:

The ISU World Figure Skating Championships is the pinnacle event of the . Approximately 190 skaters from 50 countries compete for World titles and to secure the maximum amount of entries to the following years’ Championships.

Previous ISU World Figure Skating This prestigious international event is hosted by a different country each year; Canada has typically hosted the World Championships Championships Host Cities approximately every 7‐8 years. The EOI process and site selection for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships is managed by Skate Canada.

5. About Skate Canada

Skate Canada is the nation’s governing body responsible for the development and administration of skating in Canada. Sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU), we are dedicated to creating a nation of skaters both recreationally and competitively.

Over 130 years old, Skate Canada is the world’s oldest skating organization and Canada’s preeminent leader in skating training and education. Over 1,200 skating clubs provide skating development and high‐performance programs to more than 180,000 Canadians each year. More than 5,900 certified professional coaches work with all ages to encourage Canadians to skate together as a family, pursue competitive ice sports and enjoy an active lifestyle.

Skate Canada’s mission is to be a leader in the delivery of skating programs and to have a continuing legacy of champions.

6. Definitions

The following definitions are applicable to this EOI: “Bid” refers to the response to this EOI. “Bidder” refers to the Host Skate Canada Section submitting a response to this EOI. “Competition Schedule” refers to the document(s) set forth in Appendix G. “Host Skate Canada Section” refers to the Skate Canada Section where the host city is located. “Host Skate Canada Section Payment” refers to the payment made to the Host Skate Canada Section under the terms of the agreement made between Skate Canada and the Host Skate Canada Section selection pursuant to this EOI. “Hotel Requirements” refers to the document(s) set forth in Appendix E. “IMG” means the International Management Group. This is the ISU’s worldwide partnership/sponsorship and television sales company. “ISU” means the International Skating Union. It is the international governing body for competitive ice skating disciplines: figure skating, , speed skating and short track speed skating. “Local Organizing Committee (LOC)” is determined by the Host Skate Canada Section and is made up of individuals with the skills necessary to execute the event, as such skills are determined by Skate Canada. “Non‐Disclosure Agreement” refers to the document(s) set forth in Appendix A. “Organizing Committee (OC)” refers to the core management group and Skate Canada as ISU Member host of the event (under the terms of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships Hosting Agreement with the ISU).

The OC consists of Skate Canada National Service Centre staff and such others as may be appointed by Skate Canada. “Skate Canada National Service Centre” refers to the office operated by Skate Canada in Ottawa. “Skating Family” refers to the (1) competitors, coaches, team leaders, medical staff, and chaperones, (2) ISU and Skate Canada representatives, Skate Canada Board of Directors, Skate Canada staff, LOC, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers, and (3) television staff and crews, media and observers. ”Venue” refers to the facility where the event will be held. ”Venue Management Advertising Waiver” refers to the document(s) set forth in Appendix D. “Venue Terms of Agreement” refers to the document(s) set forth in Appendix C. “Value‐in‐Kind (VIK)” refers to goods and services provided at no cost that are approved by Skate Canada.

7. Benefits of Hosting

Economic Impact

The economic impact generated in a host community is significant. London, Ontario, Canada played host to the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2013 which included over 150 skaters from approximately 50 countries. The total economic activity generated by the event was $42.6 million in the Province of Ontario, with $32.1 million occurring in London.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada was set to play host to the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2020. The total economic impact estimated to be generated by the event was $40 million in the Province of Quebec, with $36 million occurring in Montreal. This event was cancelled due to the COVID‐19 pandemic.

Local Visibility

The ISU World Figure Skating Championships attracts visitors from across Canada and around the world and requires approximately 5,000 hotel room nights for Staff, Officials, Competitors, Media, TV, and other Skate Canada and ISU Representatives.

The host city will also benefit from tourism and additional accommodation requirements booked separately by spectators and others attending the event. In 2013, approximately 74% of event ticket buyers travelled from outside of London, with 64% requiring accommodations. In 2020, approximately 90% of ticket buyers were expected from outside Montreal with 85% requiring accommodation.

Historically, several Tour Operators have sold packages to the event that comprise of accommodations, ground transportation and event tickets. In 2020, this would have accounted for approximately 5,250 room nights booked, for spectators from all over the world. The Tour Operators will often organize pre‐ or post‐event tours and excursions throughout the event around the competition schedule, resulting in more tourism in the host city and surrounding area.

8. National and International Visibility

The positive media exposure generated by hosting an event of this stature provides the host city with a strong platform to promote itself as an international sporting destination. More than 200 journalists and 100 photographers were expected to cover the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2020.

The ISU World Figure Skating Championships has typically been televised in Canada by the ISU Canadian rights‐ holder. Additional international ISU rights‐holder crews will broadcast from the competition while others will pick up the host television feed to broadcast worldwide. In 2020, the event was estimated to reach 50 countries internationally, totaling 900 hours of live and delayed broadcast hours that measured over 300 million television viewers, worldwide.

Skate Canada live streams practices and any non‐televised competition, where possible.

Hosting the ISU World Figure Skating Championships also provides the opportunity to welcome and showcase the host city to a number of government officials from the local to federal levels, as well as many prestigious members of the figure skating world.

9. Objectives of the 2024 World Championships

In preparing Bids, bidders should consider Skate Canada’s objectives for the event as noted below:

Event Objectives

 Operate a financially successful event, which includes achieving or exceeding revenue targets.  Present a world‐class event to a local, regional, national, and international audience.  Delivering a “Best in Class” execution that supports athlete success and delivers a safe competition environment.  Provide a superior entertainment experience for all spectators and viewers.  Successfully engage the host community to generate event awareness and provide an inclusive festival atmosphere.

Additional Aspirations

 Exceed the ISU’s expectations ensuring future Championship hosting opportunities in Canada.  Showcase Skate Canada as the preeminent leader in the sport of skating from the local to international levels.  Maximize exposure and promotion of the event through media, television, participants, and spectators.  Put Canada on the map as a prime tourist destination by showcasing our culture and hospitality to international participants, media, and spectators.

PART 3: CONTENTS OF A BID

10. Information Required

The Bid should be structured to provide the information requested herein. Where a form or documentation is listed as mandatory, failure to include that form (in substance), or documentation or to meet the mandatory requirements thereof, may result in disqualification.

12. Format

 Bidders can choose to submit their Bid in either official language of Canada. However, it is acknowledged that all submissions to the ISU must be in English. Accordingly, all French language bids must be accompanied by a complete English translation including endorsements and/or attachments provided by third parties.

 Bidders should provide clear, complete, and concise responses to EOI requirements. The Bidder is encouraged to organize their response to the EOI in format that best meets their needs.

13. Bidders to Express Intention to Submit

Bidders are asked to express interest in pursuing this opportunity in writing by December 4, 2020. Expression of intent to respond to this EOI is non‐ binding and will be used for purposes of obtaining contact information of interested parties in the event an addendum is issued.

PART 5: THE DELIVERABLES

The Bid must contain the following:

Non‐Disclosure Agreement

A signed Non‐Disclosure Agreement substantively in the form provided in Appendix A is required. This agreement must be signed by all endorsing parties including the Skate Canada Section, the Venue, the Local Municipality, and the Province.

Letters of Support

The hosting of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2024 requires a strong partnership between the Skate Canada Section, the venue, the local municipality, and the provincial government. Accordingly, a letter of support must be provided by the following 4 parties (individually or collectively or some combination thereof):

Potential Funding Partners

Funding partners are an important part of the revenue picture, but also a source of the important connections that can make the event truly memorable. Skate Canada will work with the successful bidder to source the funding opportunities available from the following sources:

 Local Municipality  Regional Government (if applicable)  Provincial Government  Local or regional tourism and/or economic development bureau  Tourism Grants & Funding

Bidder Experience

The Bidder is required to indicate if their organization has been a successful recipient of funding from any of the sources noted above in the past. The Bidder should also provide evidence that a potential funding source has been approached and will consider supporting this event. Finally, the Bidder should provide details of Skate Canada events previously hosted by the Bidder and the level of success in executing those events.

Venue Requirements

All arena requirements must be met in substance, as outlined in Venue Requirements described in Appendix B. In addition, the venue operator should be prepared to enter into an agreement with Skate Canada which includes terms as substantially set out in the Venue Terms of Agreement provided in Appendix C.

Venue Management Advertising Waiver

The Bid must include a Venue Management Advertising Waiver, for each proposed venue, in the form attached hereto as Appendix D.

Hotel Requirements

All hotel requirements must be met in substance, as outlined in Hotel Requirements described in Appendix E. The Bid must include these requirements for each hotel proposed.

Host City Profile

The Bid must contain an overview of the host city and surrounding community. The host city profile should provide significant detail about the community and its offering to visitors and may include, among other things:  Demographic Data  Diversity Profile  Transportation Hubs (airports, highways, etc.)  Public Transportation Networks (trains, buses, etc.)  Media Support (local, regional, national, etc.)  Active Volunteer Community  Tourist Attractions  Any other additional information pertinent to the Bid  Any unique factors about the host community.

Community Engagement Plan

Hosting the ISU World Figure Skating Championships is an opportunity to showcase the host city and the diversity of Canada to the international audience. To do so, it is vital that communities are engaged in the event.

The Bid must contain information that demonstrates how Skate Canada and the Local Organizing Committee will engage communities and generate excitement leading into and throughout the event. This will enhance the fan experience and will offer an opportunity for those who are unable to purchase tickets to be a part of the action!

The Community Engagement Plan portion of the Bid should include the following:

1. Awareness  How will you draw the crowds to take part in the festivities – especially those who may not have tickets to the event? How do local communities feel included?

2. Festival Location Details  Where will the Community Engagement take place? Proximity to competition venue should be indicated.  Indicate if an existing facility or are tents/trailers will be required as well as the capacity, on‐ site washrooms, access to power, food and beverage on‐site, etc.?

3. Programming  Indicate the types of entertainment, interactive fan activities, local talent, displays, suitability for event ceremonies, viewing area/lounge for live streaming of the competition, etc.

4. Local Business Engagement  Provide information as to nearby restaurants and shops  Potential on‐site vendors  In‐store programming (store front skating themed decorations, signage, skating related menu items, etc.).

5. Heritage  Provide opportunities to showcase Canadian and local culture with an emphasis on the diversity of the communities.

6. Other  Skate Canada welcomes additional Community Engagement ideas from the Bidder.

In previous events, hosts have created a physical environment outside the Venue where a broad range of free activities were provided including a vendor marketplace, interactive fan zone, viewing lounge with live coverage of the event, autograph signing sessions and live performances by local artists. The atmosphere created by these activities contributed to a new following of skating fans.

Advance promotions were done with local schools, community groups, skating clubs, city recreational programs, and community centres, senior’s centres, and day camps, as well as retail outlets in the area. The key target audience for the Community Engagement activities include:

 Local residents  Young families  New Canadians  Indigenous Communities  Racialized Communities  Multi‐Cultural communities – 50 countries are represented at the Championships

 National and international guests – people who have purchased tickets to the event spend time in the Community Engagement area, mixing with local residents, seeing the crowds and being part of the action. It enriches their overall event experience.  Competitors – the athletes will visit the Community Engagement area once they have finished competing. They also like to experience all that the event has to offer.

PART 6: EVALUATION

14. Site Visits – if Required

All shortlisted host communities will be responsible for providing travel and covering expenses for up to 3 individuals from Skate Canada for a site visit (if one is required) to determine suitability of the host city. Expenses may include air travel from Ottawa, food and beverage, ground transportation, etc. The proposed host hotel is required to provide up to 3 complimentary room nights for the Skate Canada representatives in the case where an overnight stay is required. Skate Canada will advise the successful bidder two‐weeks in advance of any required site visit.

15. Evaluation Criteria

When choosing the location for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2024, Skate Canada will evaluate Bids based on the following criteria:

If the host city has not previously held a Skate Canada competition, it may be required to host one of either Skate Canada International or the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships in preparation for hosting the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2024.

PART 7: OBLIGATIONS

16. Host Skate Canada Section Obligations

The typical obligations of the Host Skate Canada Section set out in Appendix F hereto are subject to change based on the capabilities and needs of Skate Canada and the Host Skate Canada Section and will be specifically provided for in the Hosting Agreement executed by Skate Canada and the Host Skate Canada Section.

APPENDICES

18. Appendix A - Non-Disclosure Agreement

This Non‐Disclosure Agreement (the "Agreement") is entered into by and between Skate Canada with its principal offices at 261–1200 St. Laurent Blvd, Box 15, Ottawa ON K1K 3B8, ("Disclosing Party") and , located at ("Receiving Party") for the purpose of preventing the unauthorized disclosure of Confidential Information as defined below. The parties agree to enter into a confidential relationship with respect to the disclosure of certain proprietary and confidential information ("Confidential Information").

1. Definition of Confidential Information

For the purposes of this Agreement, “Confidential Information”) shall include, without limitation, technical and business information relating to Disclosing Party’s proprietary ideas, costs, profit and margin information, finances and financial projections, customers, clients, marketing, and current or future business plans, and all information or material that has or could have commercial value or other utility in the business in which Disclosing Party is engaged, regardless of whether such information is designated as “Confidential Information” at the time of its disclosure.

2. Exclusions from Confidential Information

Receiving Party's obligations under this Agreement do not extend to information that is: (a) publicly known at the time of disclosure or subsequently becomes publicly known through no fault of the Receiving Party; (b) discovered or created by the Receiving Party before disclosure by Disclosing Party; (c) learned by the Receiving Party through legitimate means other than from the Disclosing Party or Disclosing Party's representatives; or (d) is disclosed by Receiving Party with Disclosing Party's prior written approval.

3. Obligations of Receiving Party

Receiving Party shall use the Confidential Information only for the purpose of evaluating and participating in the Disclosing Party’s EOI process with regard to the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2024. Receiving Party shall carefully restrict access to Confidential Information to employees, contractors and third parties as is reasonably required, and shall require those persons to sign non‐disclosure restrictions at least as protective as those in this Agreement. Receiving Party shall not, without prior written approval of Disclosing Party, use for Receiving Party's own benefit, publish, copy, or otherwise disclose to others, or permit the use by others for their benefit or to the detriment of Disclosing Party, any Confidential Information. Receiving Party shall return to Disclosing Party any and all records, notes, and other written, printed, or tangible materials in its possession pertaining to Confidential Information immediately if Disclosing Party requests it in writing.

4. Time Periods

The non‐disclosure provisions of this Agreement shall survive the termination of this Agreement and Receiving Party's duty to hold Confidential Information in confidence shall remain in effect until the

Confidential Information no longer qualifies as a trade secret or until Disclosing Party sends Receiving Party written notice releasing Receiving Party from this Agreement, whichever occurs first.

5. Relationships

Nothing contained in this Agreement shall be deemed to constitute either party a partner, joint venturer or employee of the other party for any purpose.

6. Severability

If a court finds any provision of this Agreement invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement shall be interpreted so as best to affect the intent of the parties.

7. Integration

This Agreement expresses the complete understanding of the parties with respect to the subject matter and supersedes all prior proposals, agreements, representations, and understandings. This Agreement may not be amended except in a writing signed by both parties.

8. Waiver

The failure to exercise any right provided in this Agreement shall not be a waiver of prior or subsequent rights.

This Agreement and each party's obligations shall be binding on the representatives, assigns and successors of such party. Each party has signed this Agreement through its authorized representative.

19. Appendix B – Venue Requirements

Overview

Two arenas are required and should be situated in the same area of the city, not further than a 15‐minute drive, under normal conditions, from each other or the official hotel where participants are housed.  The arena is to provide the base colour as specified by Skate Canada to cover all existing logos and lines.

 Ability to install on‐ice logos.

 Depth of ice must be 3.5 to 4.0 cm, with no less than 3.0 cm above the paint.

 Surface temperature should be consistent at ‐4 degrees C or 25 degrees F. (Brine temperature, where applicable, must be within the range of ‐7.7 and ‐5.5 degrees C, or 18 to 22 degrees F.).

Advertising Signage, Digital Signage and Rinkboards

Advertising Signage

The entire bowl inside of the arena and what the spectators see from their seats when watching the competition must be:  Free of all advertising and commercial branding  The only acceptable advertising will be the event logo, host city logo and/or logo of the rink  Existing signage or advertising must be removed or covered for the duration of the competition

Digital Signage & Video Board

In order to deliver entertainment along with replays/scores in the bowl to spectators, Skate Canada requires a video board which would ideally be 16:9 aspect ratio and HD output. Video board technical package and specifications should be provided with submission of Bid.

Rinkboards  Arena will be able to accommodate static rinkboards and will allow 3 full days for the installation of the static rinkboard advertising prior to the first practice session.  Rinkboards Inc., the Official Supplier to the ISU, must have the exclusive ability to install event rinkboard signage, at both the Competition and Practice venue. This must be guaranteed, in writing.

TV Compound

The venue must have the ability to house the television compound with a minimum of two production trucks and associated vehicles in immediately outside the venue or in the loading dock area. The space requirement is 2,000 square meters.

Box Office

Venue naming signage is excluded and the clean venue as described above is required regardless of terms of sponsorship rights sold by the venue subsequent to the signing of this agreement.

Overview

An Official Hotel and a minimum of two secondary hotels required and should be situated in the same area of the city, not further than a 15‐minute drive, under normal conditions, from each other or either arena. Ideally the official hotel where the majority of the participants including the teams, International Skating Union and officials are housed is within walking distance to the competition venue.

Skate Canada reserves the right to use a third party as the official hotel negotiating agent for Skate Canada and will be responsible for the negotiation and recommendation of hotels for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2024, and rooms must be commissionable.

Bids must include for each hotel, Banquet and Meeting Room maps of all levels and areas.

23. Appendix F - Skate Canada and Host Skate Canada Section Obligations

Typical obligations of Skate Canada and the Host Skate Canada Section are provided below. Responsibilities of both parties will be discussed following the awarding of the Bid and will be included in a Hosting Agreement between the parties.

SKATE CANADA OBLIGATIONS

1. Hosting an ISU Site Visit

Skate Canada will host the Sport Manager Figure Skating, the ISU Event Coordinator, the Representatives of the Host Broadcaster, TV rights holders, IMG and, if necessary, the Result Service Provider for a joint inspection visit. On‐site costs (meals, hotel, transportation) are the responsibility of either Skate Canada or the ISU.

2. Registration and Accreditation

Skate Canada will lead the registration process and will approve and prepare all accreditations. The ISU will approve media accreditations.

3. Event Officials

The ISU and Skate Canada are responsible for identifying, inviting, scheduling and overseeing the event officials (Technical Panels, Judges, and ISU Regional Event Coordination Assistant (RECA)).

All costs related to officials are the responsibility of either Skate Canada or the ISU (accommodations, meals, travel, ground transportation honorariums).

4. Event Technicians

Skate Canada is responsible for identifying, inviting, scheduling, and overseeing the event technicians (announcers, music technicians).

All costs related to event technicians are the responsibility of Skate Canada (accommodations, meals, travel, and ground transportation).

5. Broadcast Operations

Skate Canada is responsible for the planning, preparation and provision of services and facilities for broadcast operations.

6. Media Operations

7. Live Streaming

Skate Canada is responsible for the planning, preparation, provision of services and facilities for Live Streaming.

8. Transportation

Complimentary ground transportation is provided at Skate Canada’s expense as follows:  Airport transfers and transportation between the hotels and rinks − Competitors, coaches, team staff for all competing countries − Event Officials & Event Technicians − Skate Canada Staff − Skate Canada Guests (VIPs, Board of Directors) − ISU Staff & Officials  Transportation from the official media hotel(s) to the competition venue.  Competition venue should be easily accessible by public transit.

9. Meals & Accommodations

 Skate Canada will appoint a Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and a Chief Therapist (CT) as part of the LOC.  The CMO and CT, in combination with Skate Canada staff, will be responsible for overseeing and planning medical services on‐site as per the Skate Canada and ISU’s standards.  A minimum of forty medical volunteers (physicians, physiotherapists, athletic therapists, etc.) are required.

10. Media and Promotions

Skate Canada and the LOC will work together to generate media interest for the event. All official event communications are the responsibility of Skate Canada and must be released simultaneously in both official languages (English and French), and this includes:  Press releases & conferences  Social media and website activity  All promotional materials (i.e. posters, ads, signage, etc.)  In‐venue announcements & signage

11. Awards & Ceremonies

The ISU will provide all medals and Skate Canada will provide the flower bouquets for the winners. Skate Canada, in conjunction with the ISU, will determine the protocol and will lead the Opening Ceremony, Victory Ceremonies, Small Medal Ceremonies, and Exhibition Gala.

12. LOC Accommodations

Skate Canada will provide for the LOC, at Skate Canada’s expense, 5 double rooms (with shared accommodations), in addition to 3 single rooms for the CMO and CT, will be provided by Skate Canada.

Skate Canada will provide shared accommodations for those LOC members that are specifically selected and appointed by Skate Canada and are from outside of the local area.

13. Social Functions

Skate Canada is responsible for the planning and costs associated with various Social Functions during the Event. Details will be provided to the LOC upon being awarded the event.

HOST SKATE CANADA SECTION OBLIGATIONS

1. LOCAL ORGANIZING COMITTEE

The successful Bidder will be responsible for forming a LOC consisting of volunteer supervisors/coordinators to successfully plan/execute this event.

The LOC should be made up of people with expertise and knowledge in a variety of different fields relevant to the LOC roles, including some previous experience at figure skating events. Skate Canada will lead the selection and appointment of LOC members with assistance provided by the Host Skate Canada Section. Skate Canada reserves the right to appoint experienced individuals from other Skate Canada Sections. The LOC can include representatives from the city or municipality and the venue as well as a third‐party event promoter. The LOC must include representatives from the Host Skate Canada Section.

2. LOCAL VOLUNTEERS

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will be responsible for the recruitment, selection, and scheduling of a contingent of approximately 400 volunteers for the event to run efficiently.

Volunteers will work in a variety of capacities to ensure that the event is planned and executed to the standards of Skate Canada and the International Skating Union (as applicable). Typically, volunteers are required as follows.

This above areas of volunteers is subject to change, based on the needs of Skate Canada, and the event.

The Host Skate Canada Section will assume responsibility for the actions and activities of volunteers selected to execute the event, including the development of volunteer schedules by area which meet the needs of the event.

Any expenses incurred by the Host Skate Canada Section or its volunteers related to the recruitment, scheduling and monitoring of volunteers or any other event related expenses that are not pre‐approved by Skate Canada in advance, will be on the Host Skate Canada Section’s account and not covered by Skate Canada.

Responsible for sourcing service providers during practices and competition for athlete hair and makeup services and subject to Skate Canada approval. Artist(s) must be experienced with applying makeup for television.

Local Supplier Program

Responsible for the sourcing support through the Local Supplier Program including:  Local business and community support through value‐in‐kind (e.g. hospitality, meals, office supplies, transportation) or cash contributions to help offset event expenses.  The Host Skate Canada Section agrees not to solicit local partners that are in the same categories as ISU sponsors.  A list of ISU sponsor and event supplier opportunities will be provided with the Local Supplier Package.  Skate Canada has final approval of all Local Suppliers

Local Promotion

Responsible for seeking out and executing promotional opportunities within the host community and region. Promotions should be pre‐approved by Skate Canada who will supply any materials required. Promotions can be run through:  Local skating clubs  Group sales opportunities  School programs  Other community awareness activities

4. Post‐Event Report

The Host Skate Canada Section is responsible for the creation and submission of a Post‐Event Report. The report must capture comprehensive information from the onset of the planning stage to the conclusion of the event. The Post‐Event Report is the final obligation of the Host Skate Canada Section in hosting the Event and is required prior to the payment of the Host Skate Canada Section Payment. A Post‐Event Report template will be provided to the successful Bidder.
