Proposed Change to the Designated Area of Carterton Community College from 1 September 2018

The designated area of Burford School surrounds the town of Carterton. Addresses in the designated area of Burford School to the east, south-east, south and south-west of the town of Carterton are closer to Carterton Community College than to Burford School.

PROPOSAL Change the designated area of Carterton Community College to encompass most addresses that are closer to this school than to other Oxfordshire secondary schools.

Burford School is an academy and this proposal does not affect the designated area of that school. All addresses currently in the designated area of Burford School are expected to remain in the designated area of Burford School.

The proposal will mean that, from 1 September 2018, Clanfield will be considered to be a split village for school transport purposes because more than 20% of the addresses in the village will be closest to their new designated area school (Carterton Community College).
