По результатам изучения собственных сборов автора фауна пресноводных двустворчатых моллюсков (Mollusca, Bivalvia) бассейна р. Таз включает 70 видов из 6 родов, 4 подсемейств и 2 семейств. Приведен аннотированный список видов двустворчатых моллюсков бассейна р. Таз. Анно- тации видов содержат сведения об их ареале, находках в Западной Сибири и бассейне Таза, биономике и относительном обилии в водоемах и водотоках рассматриваемого бассейна. Впервые для района исследований зарегистрировано 45 видов. Распределение видов по представленности в составе коллек- ции и по встречаемости крайне неравномерное, видовое богатство большинства малакоценозов невы- сокое. Редкими в составе коллекции являются 22 вида. Наибольшее видовое богатство зарегистрирова- но в придаточных водоемах рек, реках и ручьях, наименьшее – во временных водоемах. The purpose of this and succeeding guides or handbooks is to introduce various groups of freshwater invertebrates to persons working in any of several areas of the freshwater ecology of Massachusetts. Although the guides are limited in tl1eir geographic scope to areas within the political boundaries of Massachusetts, many of the organisms treated, and information regarding their ecology and biology, will be applicable to neighboring regions. To increase the usefulness of mis and following guidebooks, complete regional bibliographies of me distribution of included species are provided. -

These taxonomical characters are still poorly known in Japanese species species of Pisidium. An anatomical study of P. casertanum 仕om Lake Biwa (Komiushin, 1996) was 祖巴arly report. Onoyama et al. (2001) described differences in the arrangement of gonadal tissues tissues in P. parvum and P. casertanum. Mori (1938) classified Japanese Pisidium into 24 species and subspecies based on minor differences differences in shell characters. For a critical revision of Japanese Pisidium, it is important to study as as many species as possible from various locations in and around Japan. The Asiatic Clam Corbicula Fluminea (Müller, 1774)
The Asiatic clam Corbicula fluminea (Müller, 1774) (Bivalvia: Corbiculidae) in Europe R. Araujo, D. Moreno and M. A. Ramos Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (CSIC), José Gutiérrez Abascal, 2. 28006, Madrid, Spain Abstract. Two populations of Corbicula fluminea were found in the Iberian Península; one in Spain and the other in Portugal. A detailed description in terms of ecology shell morphology and microstructure, morphometrics and anatomy is given for the Spanish population from the Mino River. Lectotypes for Tellina fluminea and T. fluminalis, and a neotype for T. fluviatilis are designated and illustrated. Distribuüon and spread of C. fluminea in Europe are revised. Comparisons among some European populations and the populations from Cantón, China, and the Mino River are made. Results suggest that, except for one doubtful population, all records of Corbicula in Europe are attributable to C. fluminea. Moreover, a thorough review by freshwater and estuarine habitáis from Southeast Asia, the Britton and Morton (1979) lead the authors to consider that Indian subcontinent, the Pacific islands, and the easternmost most Asiatic species previously described could be attributed part of Europe and África (McMahon, 1983). -

Signed: 3 4 Abstract Our understanding of early human behaviour has always been and continues to be predicated on an archaeological record unevenly distributed in space and time. More than 80% of British Lower-Middle Palaeolithic findspots were discovered during the late 19th/early 20th centuries, the majority from lowland fluvial contexts. Within the British planning process and some academic research, the resultant findspot distributions are taken at face value, with insufficient consideration of possible bias resulting from variables operating on their creation. This leads to areas of landscape outside the river valleys being considered to have only limited archaeological potential. This thesis was conceived as an attempt to analyse the findspot data of the Lower-Middle Palaeolithic record of the Chalk uplands of southeast Britain and northern France within a framework complex enough to allow bias in the formation of findspot distribution patterns and artefact preservation/discovery opportunities to be identified and scrutinised more closely. Taking a dynamic, landscape = record approach, this research explores the potential influence of geomorphology, 19th/early 20th century industrialisation and antiquarian collecting on the creation of the Lower- Middle Palaeolithic record through the opportunities created for artefact preservation and release. -

HUMAN-MEDIATED DISPERSAL OF AQUATIC NONINDIGENOUS SPECIES: IMPACTS AND INTERVENTIONS A Dissertation Submitted to the Graduate School of the University of Notre Dame in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy by John D. Lodge, Director Graduate Program in Biological Sciences Notre Dame, Indiana August 2009 HUMAN-MEDIATED DISPERSAL OF AQUATIC NONINDIGENOUS SPECIES: IMPACTS AND INTERVENTIONS Abstract by John D. Rothlisberger The introduction and establishment of species beyond the boundaries of their native ranges is an environmental issue of increasing scope and seriousness. This dissertation examines the consequences of the establishment of aquatic nonindigenous species (NIS) in the Laurentian Great Lakes (GL) region and also investigates alternatives for reducing anthropogenic spread of nuisance aquatic NIS. I first investigate the pathways by which aquatic NIS are introduced to the GL to learn if introduction pathway is related to where species originate and how likely they are to have spread beyond the GL basin. My analysis shows that ballast water release is highly likely to introduce new aquatic NIS to North America, whereas unauthorized release of organisms in trade tends to introduce to the GL aquatic NIS already established in North America. Moreover, it appears that it is primarily a matter of time before novel NIS that become established in the GL appear in other North American waterways. I also consider the relationship between introduction pathway and species impacts, finding that John D. Rothlisberger there is an apparent relationship, but that further study of species-specific impacts is needed to verify this finding. Given the importance of ballast water release in bringing novel species to the GL, I use a novel technique to estimate the economic impacts in the region of ecological changes caused by populations of aquatic NIS introduced by this pathway. -

This and Co-chairs . 20 Workshop team includes freshwater malacologists and experts in animal health and disease from: the School Parting Shot . 21 of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota; School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Wisconsin; School 1 Ellipsaria Vol. 19 - No. 4 December 2017 of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Aquatic Sciences, Auburn University; the US Geological Survey Wildlife Disease Center; and the US Fish and Wildlife Service Fish Health Center. The opening session of this three-day Workshop will include a review of freshwater mollusk declines, the current state of knowledge on freshwater mollusk health and disease, and a crash course in disease organisms. The afternoon session that day will include small panel presentations on health assessment tools, mollusk die-offs and kills, and risk characterization of disease organisms to freshwater mollusks.
