Outcome: Improved accountability, transparency and efficiency in public service delivery through the use of ICT Activity Funding (US) Timeline Status Adoption of e- World Bank (500k) 2019 The evaluation to select a Government: Phase 1 – consulting firm is underway and Development of Master it is expected to complete before Plan end of this year. The evaluation and selection process are following World Bank procedures. The firm will assist Government to develop a Master Plan for e- Government.

Development of Cyber Security 2019-2020 A team from International Telecommunication Strategic Plan Union (ITU) came in this month, Nov assist Government to conduct consultation to develop a comprehensive Cyber Security Strategic Plan Review of the National ICT policy Q3-Q4 2018 A technical assistant engaged to assist the Government with the revision of the National ICT Policy to include future directions of the country in regards to ICT. Delays in rollout of mobile and internet services due to various reasons Maintenance costs for submarine cable for Tarawa particularly within the first 5 years are not clear Sustainability of satellite communications on the outer islands will be a challenge in the long run Difficulty in estimating costs related to eGovernment infrastructure due to lack of experience
