This is a pretty good bookBy Donald M BennettThis is a pretty good book. I love the characters but Loth was a little disappointing. I don't like that Lolth was more a demon queen than the queen of the drow. The drow were not really shown as minion of lothin this book. I love the characters but like some of the forgotten realms characters they become too much like immortal super heros. But the story was not much like the DD module. This module was really cool.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Paul Kidd rocksBy Esper RangerExtremely funny and interesting DD adventure novel featuring the Justicar (who would make Batman proud), Escalla the faerie and the rest of their friends. This is part three of a trilogy by the way. Be sure to pick up the first book of the series "White Plume Mountain" and the sequel "Descent into the Depths of the Earth" both by the same awesome author. I wish he'd do more with these characters. FYI, there is also a short story called "Keoland Blues" in Dragon Magazine #278 (Dec 2000) that takes place between the first and second novels.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. More awesome retro memories from one of my favorite old school DD modules.By TomHunter1968More awesome retro memories from one of my favorite old school DD modules. Paul Kidd did an admirable job bringing QDP to life, and, for me, brought back reminders of the campaigns we ran 30+ years ago, when negative armor class was a good thing :) Anyway, as far as the novel goes, it's well in line with most ADD novels - a fun, light, quick read, as you may have come to expect from most of these books. Kidd spins a good yarn, obviously built on the classic module. I'd recommend it to anyone, but especially to all those old school module players who remember this one, Keep on the Borderlands, and the rest of the best. :) Queen of the Demonweb Pits was one of the most popular adventures ever created for the Dungeons Dragons game. This novelization appeals to those who have played through the adventure, as well as to those who have an interest in drow elves--one of the most popular races in the game.
