We want to see 50 people join the conference, swap ideas and feel equipped afterwards. • We are also preparing for Global Haverim, and hoping to have many people outside of Pais will experience Haverim. Pray that 50 groups across Germany will participate in Global Haverim. • Many teams are preparing for our Pais weekender and BYL campaigns. Pray that they continue to invest in teenagers they already are connected with, as well as invite those that haven’t experience Pais yet. Pais South Africa Prayer Request • Additional new apprentices for January teams. • The visa applications for our January apprentices. • Pray for a refreshing and new strategy for Pais Africa, as we have the Africa mini summit in November. Paul & Lynn Gibbs Pais Global Prayer Request • That many people will get involved in Global Haverim. • For 10,000 teenagers to become part of the Pais Youth Academy over the next 2 years. • For Paul and Lynn’s trip to an Arab nation that wants Pais for the first time. Like other Africans, Nigerian migrants live in countless locations around the world and are connected to their homeland through contingent transnational networks. This thesis explores the onward migration of Nigerian migrants towards, within and beyond Europe and analyses the motivations, patterns and outcomes of their multiple movements. Six cities in Germany, the UK and Spain are the main research locations for the fieldwork that took place over 17 months. The three countries are important destinations for Nigerian migrants in Europe and also the principal destinations of intra-European onward migrants. The cities included in this study are the capital cities Berlin, London and Madrid, as well as Cologne, Manchester and Málaga.

While most of these new parties remain ephemeral, some manage to establish stable ties with voters and win substantial electoral support over repeated elections. This divergence raises the question why some new parties are able to take root in society, establish stable ties with voters, and successfully compete in elections over time, while others fail to do so. Despite a vibrant literature on both the stability of party identification and de- alignment away from traditional parties, we do not have a good understanding yet of why some new parties succeed in taking root in society, while others fail to do so. This dissertation attempts to fill this gap. It explores different paths that new parties take to build mass support, i.e. to secure electoral support and build partisan attachments in the electorate, in the context of the recent wave of party formation in Latin America.
