Loving ministration to the needy has ever been a part of God's plan to save man. From early times when Moses, through inspiration, the spirit gave definite directives to the children of Israel regarding the care of their own poor as well as of the stranger within their gates, down to apostolic days when provision was made for the widows in , God's own people have ever been admonished to lovingly to the poor and clothing, and who needed for quoting it here, we suggest that the unfortunate. sympathy, and she freely minis- you read verses 6-12 for a descrip- Among many Biblical characters tered to the wants of both classes. tion of the various types of Dorcas who have received heavenly ap- And when Dorcas died, the church welfare service, and receive your probation for r their unselfish in Joppa realized their loss. Rangoon Hospital Capping Exercises

On the evening of January 12th a very interesting and inspiring service was conducted in the Rangoon church. It was the capping ex- ercises for the new nurses who were about to start their training in the Rangoon Seventh-day Adventist hospital. Doctor R. S. Lowry gave the address and emphasised the "Marks of Distinction" which should be manifested in all Christians, and in a special way, in those who are in the medical profession, as they minister to people of all walks of life and of various beliefs. It was very impressive to hear these new recruits, with candles in hand signifying, "The Lady With the Lamp," make their statement of dedication, in unison, to the work which they had chosen. The whole service was well organized in real hospital-style by Miss E. Mann. -Doctor Stockhausen added to the inspiration of the exercises by singing a song of dedication.
