Men’s Golf The golf team won the school’s first NCAA Division II Super Regional Championship as they took home the title at the Atlantic/East Super Regional held in West Virginia. This paved the way for their first team appearance at an NCAA Division II National Championship, which was held in Kissimmee, Florida. There the team finished in 19th place, following three days of play.

The team is coached by Keith Prokop, a former Dominican College student-athlete. As a player, Prokop won four collegiate tournaments including the individual Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship in his senior year. Baseball The Chargers baseball team finished the season with a 22-29 overall record and an 11-1 CACC record. The team finished in sixth place in the conference and earned the sixth seed in the CACC Championship Tournament. After winning a play-in game against the third seed, Post University, and defeating the second seed, Wilmington University, and the fourth seed Chestnut Hill College, the Chargers reached the championship, where they defeated Chestnut Hill College to win their 17th CACC Tournament Championship.

The team is coached by Rick Giannetti, who has guided the team to 15 CACC championships, 10 regional tournament appearances, one Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship and two National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) World Series Appearances. Women’s Lacrosse Dominican College women’s lacrosse coach Jim Drivas was named the BSN Sports CACC Coach of the Year after guiding the team to an impressive 8-5 overall record and an 8-1 mark in league play. Last year, the team missed the CACC playoffs.

Professor Teaches Summer Engineering Course in Rome Assistant Professor of Physics and Mathematics Kathleen Conlon Hinge, Ph.D., taught an engineering course at John Cabot University in Rome this past summer. Hinge said the experience was deeply gratifying. “To be in a city that has seen so much history is overwhelming. My favorite is the Pantheon because of the engineering behind it. It’s just a marvel of architecture and engineering, as well as history,” she said.

This is Dr. Hinge’s second summer teaching at John Cabot University. She said she and her husband are embracing the Italian culture and learning to speak Italian.
