This is part of the wider project to create modern leisure facilities, suitable for all, in Hyndburn over the next 3 years. Cllr Miles Parkinson OBE, Leader of Hyndburn Council said: “Hyndburn Borough Council have owned this land since 1938 and it has been a great source of joy for many grass roots organisations over the years. Community football has changed the way it operates, and over recent years and this land no longer gets the use it deserves. Prior to Covid-19, our King George V playing fields were booked just 2 hours per week on average, booking pitches to play through the council was not something our community was utilising. The lease with Accrington Stanley FC means that going forward the pitch will be used for around 30 hours per week and we will also establish a community use agreement which will be approved by Sport England and the Football Foundation.” Visit our showroom or shop online Accrington Stanley FC have offered £550,000 for the grant of a 100-year lease of the playing fields and associated ameneties. www.themattressworld.co.uk Health inequalities remain higher than the national average in Hyndburn and this income generated will contribute towards the wider MATTRESS WORLD transformational change of leisure facilities in Hyndburn. Many of us have welcomed a new pet into our home or have had to say goodbye to a beloved pet, while others have become first time pet owners. Pet charities and rescues have had their work and services tested like never before. Veterinary practices have had to adapt to changes in the way they work while continuing to care for our sick and injured pets around the clock, often under intense pressure. THE ONLY CARING, STRONG VOICE FOR LOCAL PEOPLE.

After covid, we all deserve more from our county councillors. Local politics has gone sour! Labour are like clones voting to spend all our money on buildings – not people or community needs. They should have more concern for all our townships.

Rishton, Clayton and Altham have not got a penny to assist their areas in next years capital spending. Because of my strong campaigning, Harwood has got cash for Lowerfold childrens park repairs. The L.C.C. never consult the voters about their preferences – yet increase the rates for us all. The Tories are in chaos – toothless tigers – with poor, bullying leadership – incapable of seeing what you need, want, and deserve. It is time to vote for someone different whom you can trust. I resigned as a Tory but am well known in Harwood, Rishton, and Clayton as a local councillor who passionately cares, listens, J

Recycling aluminium is vital to achieving the UK’s climate change targets. Stuart Rogan, Managing Director of HML Recycling, explained: “Producing new aluminium is very costly in terms of energy and environmental impact. One tonne of new material requires an eyewatering 22 megawatts of electricity per hour. To put it into context, that amount of electricity would power 300 houses for an entire day. On top of that there are lots of toxic by-products released into the environment.” “Recycling aluminium uses a 20th of the energy. It has none of the toxic by- products and every tonne recycled saves 12 tonnes of Co2 from going into the atmosphere.” So far, the project has raised £1000 for the Accrington Stanley Community NEW HOME FOR CLAYTON BOXING BRITANNIA CAR SALES LTD RECYCLING PARTNERSHIP: BAKING Trust and it will be an ongoing process.
