Armagh pipemaker, William Kennedy. • Learned about various aspects of traditional music performance, formal and informal. About the Programme This programme introduces us to uilleann piping through interviews with and performances by professional and amateur pipers. The pipers discuss their feelings about the instrument, its attraction for them and the challenges it presents for the creative musician. Close-up Þ lming of classic pipe tunes enable viewers to see how the chanter is played and the way in which the melodies are ornamented and developed. The role of uilleann pipes over 200 years of music- making is analysed. Its early function of accompanying social dancing is illustrated through the work of 18th and 19th century painters. The impact of the travelling pipers on the dissemination of the music is explained.

Specifically, For members, The Community Band of Brevard will provide: Enjoyable and meaningful music experiences; Opportunities to utilize their music performing skills and broaden their music horizons; Opportunities to develop and improve their performing skills both as individuals and as an ensemble. Summer 2016 Ashland, Oregon Allen Vizzutti, Trumpet Soloist Allen Vizzutti has performed in 60 countries with an array of artists and ensembles including Chick Corea, Doc Severinsen, The NBC Tonight Show Band, the Airmen of Note, the Army Blues, Chuck Mangione, Woody Herman, Japan’s NHK Symphony Orchestra and the Kosei Wind Orchestra. He has performed on more than 150 motion picture soundtracks, such as: Back to the Future, Star Trek, The Black Stallion, Rocky II, Poltergeist II, Fire Fox, Sudden Impact, 10, Under the Cherry Moon, Broadcast News, The Electric Horseman and 1941. Allen has composed many orchestra works leading to world premieres by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic and the Tonight Show Orchestra. He has recorded works with the Royal Philharmonic of London, the Woody Herman Band, the Summit Brass and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has taught at the Eastman School of Music, the Banff Center for the Performing Arts, Kansas State University, West Texas State University, the University of South Carolina and the Skidmore Jazz Institute. The Allen Vizzutti Trumpet Method, published by Alfred Music, have become standard works for trumpet study worldwide. Born and raised in Missoula, Montana, Vizzutti first learned the trumpet from his father, Lido Vizzutti. At age 16, Vizzutti Vizzutti has three children with his wife Laura, all successful won the concerto competition and was awarded first chair in the musicians. Celtic music festivals flourish in Tokyo or in Buenos Aires, Riverdance shows and their offshoots appear on several stages simultaneously, and hundreds of tourists invade Doolin’s two main pubs every week for a little bit of “the pure drop”. L'idea è quella di riportare il piede al passo sulle pietre e sui tratturi della Murgia, recuperando quel rapporto ancestrale con la terra, i silenzi, i paesaggi e le voci della natura viva che abbiamo perso con la frenetica modernità. E di farlo unendo natura e musica in un progetto unico nel suo genere in tutto il mezzogiorno d'Italia. Per questo, sono bandite le auto e si privilegia il contatto fisico: runners, trekkers, ciclisti, passeggiatori, osservatori degli spazi saranno i principali fruitori di questo progetto. Il progetto Suoni della Murgia nel Parco parte dal radunare musicisti da tutto il mondo sulla Murgia barese, impegnandoli in concerti all'aurora, al crepuscolo, alla sera, nei luoghi naturalistici più belli ed affascinanti del Parco Nazionale dell'Alta Murgia. I concerti saranno tutti ad impatto zero, eseguiti in acustico ed inseriti nel circuito delle masserie del Parco. Tutti gli eventi in programma saranno raggiungibili esclusivamente a piedi ed in bici, accompagnati nel percorso dal punto di raccolta al luogo dell'evento dalle guide del Parco. Il punto di raccolta fungerà da parcheggio per le auto. Gli itinerari per cicloturisti, runners ed escursionisti saranno realizzati dal Parco dell'Alta Murgia e collegati agli eventi di Suoni della Murgia.
