MAY 2017 CARLISLE COA 5 OUTREACH with Angela

Carlisle Community Forum on Dear All:

Happy Spring! The Carlisle Council on Aging does a mostly monthly TV show called the Carlisle Community Forum (previously just listed as the Carlisle COA). You can view this show on your TV on Channel 8 or on line at: http://www.concordtv.org/video-on-demand then on the right find the Council on Aging title under the word “Playing.” We not only highlight upcoming Carlisle COA events, but more importantly, we have a guest who will discuss topics we hope will be helpful and interesting to you! If you view online, you can skip through the monthly material (if you are viewing a past month) and focus on our guests. Some examples are: In February 2017, Gayle Yanall educated us on how anyone who cannot hold a book or whose vision is challenged can take advantage of the FREE books on Tape from Perkins. In December, A Hospice Nurse, gave insight into how he can help folks look at planning for end of life. In November, Chief Flannery and Stacey Palm from Home Instead talked about preventing falls. Other programs included a pharmacist and how they can help folks who have a hard time remembering what pills to take when, and information on “Coalition for a Better Acre,” a non-profit who helps local residents avoid foreclosure. We also record, when the presenters agree, the history, religion and health programs that we co-sponsor with the Library. So check us out on TV and on-line. We have topics planned through October, but if there is something that you would like covered, please give me a call or send me an email and maybe you’ll find what you are looking for on your TV or computer! Best, Angela
