- Boise Music Week 2017 - Music - An Adventure for Life Ninety-nine (99) years and counting! What a wonderful tradition of music to have in our community. Boise Music Week has been providing a marvelous week of music of all kinds for such a long time that we often forget who and what makes it possible. YOU! All the time, talent, and enjoyment would go unappreciated if generous people did not continue to support Music Week with their donations. Beginning with International Dance Night and ending with the production of this year’s musical Mary Poppins, our community, especially our youth, are showcased. We will have music and fun for everyone – School Night, Music in the Park, Church Night, All That’s Jazz, Organ Concerts, and Showcase. Rehearsals have been going strong since February and volunteers will be spending many, many hours preparing for the events. All of you help make this week possible and all for free of charge. No admission charges will be required at any of the events. Boise is a great city, made better by its strong support of the arts. We are indeed fortunate. In addition, we are already starting the planning process for next year - our 100th Celebration of Music Week! Wow, that is going to be exciting. In the meantime, enjoy Music Week 2017 by attending the events. Roger Lingle, President, Boise Music Week

forever grateful ... Harry W.Morrison, co-founder of the Morrison Knudsen Construction Company, and his wife,Velma V. Morrison shared a love of music and Broadway theatre, and dreamed of building a performing arts center in their beloved Boise. The dream finally became reality in 1984, long after Harry’s passing in 1971. Velma, who had long been a Boise Music Week supporter, offered the use of the Morrison Center, for the highlight event, the Broadway Musical production, beginning in 1988. Since then thousands have had the thrill of performing on that stage and thousands more have enjoyed the productions. Everyone is invited, regardless of their ability to pay, to experience the grandeur of the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts, during Boise Music Week.

Velma passed way in 2013. Boise Music Week remains forever grateful to Harry and Velma Morrison for their passion, foresight, determination and generosity, and now appreciates the wonderful opportunity to continue working with the Morrison Center Endowment Foundation to perpetuate their legacy in this community.
