DECLARATION OF DISASTER FOR VILLAGE OF GLENDALE HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS
Upon the authority of Chapter 20, Act 3305, Section 11 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, and Article C, Section 6-2-C- 1 of the Glendale Heights Village Code I, Linda Jackson , President of the Village of Glendale Heights do hereby declare that a State of Disaster exists , in the Village of Glendale Heights, DuPage County Illinois, for the fo llowing reasons : On March 9, 2020 , the Governor of Illinois issued a disaster proclamation for the State of Illinois in response to COVID 19. On March 11 , 2020 the World Health Organization declared COVID 19 a pandemic. On March 13, 2020 , The President of the United States declared the COVID-19 outbreak a national emergency. On March 16, 2020 the DuPage County Board Chairman issued a disaster proclamation for DuPage County in response to the Coun ty's first confirmed case of COVID-19. This declaration with assist the Village of Glendale Heights in coordinating wi th Federal , State and County agencies and resources, in preparation for any action that may be necessary related to the potential impact of COVID-19 in the Village of Glendale Heights, DuPage County, Illinois.
Departments and agencies, charged with response and recovery activities under the Village of Glendale Heights Emergency Operations Plan , are hereby directed to respond with haste, in accordance with the plan , to bring said emergency to a rapid conclusion for the best interest of the residents of Village of Glendale Heights, Illinois pursuant to the Illinois Emergency Management Act and Article C, Section 6-2-C-1, of the Code of the Village of Glendale Heights, DuPage County, Illinois.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 11 , th is proclamation shall be in effect when signed , and shall expire at midnight seven days from the date shown , unless extended by resolution of the village board .
