Flighted means that each foursome has players with different handicaps - one player from the A flight, one player from the B flight and so on.

Low Gross/Low Net in Flights

Low gross/low net in flights is played on the first Wednesday of the month.1 Play on this day also includes a “closest to the pin on par 3’s” contest. Cost to play in this contest is $1 and participating players must sign-up on a separate sheet and pay the fee. Everyone who participates competes on each

1 STLGA voted that low gross/low net will be played on the first week of the month and no more than twice a month.

1 March 29, 2018 par 3 hole - no specific holes are designated to any handicap group. A player may win more than one hole. Display the contest sign-up sheet on the day of play as players check-in. Keep the money separate from the regular play monies. The markers are in a separate STLGA bag. Give them to the first foursome out on each side. Remind the last foursome out on each side to collect them.

To determine winners in each flight first, select the 1st low gross and 1st low net and give each the same amount of money. Then select 2nd low gross and 2nd low net and give each the same amount of money. The amount of prize money for each flight is determined by the number of players in that flight.

Crossover

Compare a player’s scores on the first hole of each side (i.e. hole 1 and hole 10) and take the best score. Compare a player’s scores on the second hole of each side (i.e. hole 2 and hole 11) and take the best score. Continue until all holes have been compared and the best score selected. Add the nine scores together and subtract half of the player’s handicap.

S&T, F&T, and O-N-E-S Holes Only

These games use only the holes that begin with specific letters.  S & T holes are: Two, Three, Six, Seven, Ten, Twelve, Thirteen, Sixteen, and Seventeen.  F & T holes are: Two, Three, Four, Five, Ten, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen and Fifteen.  O-N-E-S holes are: One, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Eleven, Sixteen, Seventeen and Eighteen.

Convert One Worst Hole to Par

Only one hole out of 18 may be changed to par. Use the player’s total handicap to determine her net score. For a variation, you can change one hole on each nine to par.

2 March 29, 2018 Tee to Green

Count the number of strokes it takes to reach the green from the tee box. Players must count their putts and subtract the number of putts from their total score for the hole. Putts are not included in the game total.

51, 42, 33

For a foursome, use one score on each par 5, two scores on each par 4, and 3 scores on each par 3.

Stableford Team Game (54 point)

For a 4-person team, subtract each player’s handicap from 54, giving you the point quota for each player. Add each player’s point quota together and subtract from 216 (54 x 4) for the team’s quota for the game.

Use gross scores only to meet quotas. Once the quota has been met, the team making the most points over the quota is the winning team.

Individual quotas should be put on the cards by the player’s name and the total team quota should be indicated.

For a 3-person team, the same procedure would be followed but the total of the three individual quotas would be subtracted from 162 (54 x 3).

Points in a 54-point Stableford are awarded as follows:

Double Bogey 1 Bogey 2 Par 3 Birdie 5 Eagle 7

3 March 29, 2018 Angel Team Game

This is a 4-person game counting one best gross and one best net score per hole. It must be two different golfers’ scores unless the golfer is an Angel. On the holes you have an Angel you can use the Angel’s score for both gross and net; either gross or net; or not at all. It’s the team’s choice. Sixteen holes will have a designated Angel (cards will be highlighted). Hole #5 and Hole #14 will not have a designated Angel.

Match Play

The game consist of 2 players A & B. Unlike match play scoring consists of individual holes won, halved or lost. On each hole, the most that can be gained is one point. Golfers play as normal, counting the strokes taken on a given hole. The golfer with the lowest score on a given hole receives one point. If the golfers tie, then the hole is halved. Match Play is played in flight and is handicapped. Complete rules and handicapping will be given to each group.

The 1-2- 3 Waltz Team Game
