PGA TOUR Player Quotes on TPC Boston

PHIL MICKELSON : “This is one of my favorite courses we play on TOUR. I think it's one of the best courses we play on TOUR. It's got a lot of character and definition, but more than that it's got a great mixture of holes, from long -5s to reachable par-5s to drivable par-4s to really long par-4s, the fescue grass, the rough. It's just a wonderful way to play the game where you have such a great mixture of every club in your bag. You have birdie opportunities, you have tough pars as opposed to some courses nowadays where it's just hard, hard, hard. Hard is hard, but it's not great, it's not fun. But this course is a great , and it's a fun golf course to play.”

CHARLEY HOFFMAN: ... you obviously feel good going back to a course you've played well on in the past, and what they've done in the redesign at TPC Boston is unbelievable from the first year I played until now. It's really transformed, and it's one of my favorite golf courses on TOUR for sure.

STEVE STRICKER: “I enjoy coming here to Boston… I enjoy this course. I really like what they've done here the last few years, and (architect Gil Hanse) in the redesign of it all. I really like it…the condition of the course is very good. It’s a fun course … I think it’s a good test. It’s one of those if you’re playing well, you can shoot a good number.”

PHIL MICKELSON: “I do like the course a lot. It’s one of the best risk/reward courses that we play. I’m able to be ag- gressive into the greens, which is the strength of my game, my play. So I think that’s why I like this course so much.”

BUBBA WATSON: “I like coming here; I like the golf course and the people.”

ERNIE ELS: “You know, I'm glad I saw Brad Faxon because I congratulated him. I thought they did a magnificent job. I think up here there's a certain type of bunkering at the golf courses, and they brought that into this golf course with the fes- cue grasses and stuff like that, and I think it's a beautiful look. The course plays well. The golf course was in great shape, so I really enjoyed that.”

JASON DAY: “The last six weeks, they've been crazy. U.S. Open, , you mix that in with three other wins. The good thing about it is it's not over. I have this great momentum going into next week to a course (TPC Boston) I absolutely love. It's only positive stuff moving forward from here.”

TIGER WOODS: “I wanted to get back here, this is one of my favorite tournaments. And a golf course I like. I’ve played well here over the years…. The greens are perfect, the fairways are in great shape.”

LUKE DONALD: “...The greens are really putting very pure. These are some of the best bent greens we play on all year, and I've really taken advantage of that and putted really well the last two days.”

BRANDT SNEDEKER : “The greens are perfect to roll on, so if you're hitting your lines you can make a lot of putts, and fortunately enough I did it today, so it was nice.”

KEEGAN BRADLEY: “The wind was up. Greens are firm… It was a lot different than I’ve ever seen. I think this is the way everyone would like to see this course play. It seems like more of championship-style course. And that’s what everyone wants to see.”
