Il mese scorso le 4 Ore di Silverstone ha creato le premesse per una stagione 2016 della ELMS avvincente e spettacolare. Il tempo tipicamente inglese ha giocato la sua parte. Nella mattinata del giorno di gara è nevicato, lasciando, una volta sciolta, la pista molto bagnata per le qualifiche. La gara è iniziata asciutta, ma l’arrivo di un acquazzone ha reso ancora più avvincente lo spettacolo. Le difficili condizioni meteo non hanno scoraggiato un buon numero di appassionati delle corse endurance, che si sono divertiti durante la sessione degli autografi, il pit walk ed assistendo alcuni dei migliori intrattenimenti in pista offerti nel Motorsport europeo. Alla fine della gara di 4 Ore, la numero 38 G-Drive Racing Gibson-Nissan di Harry Tincknell, Simon Dolan e Giedo Van der Garde è risultata vincitrice la termine di una sfida emozionante, che ha visto diverse vetture lottare per il comando durante la corsa di 240 minuti. Grande festa nel box della United Autosports dato che la squadra anglo-americana ha portato a casa una doppietta al debutto nella LMP3, con vittoria della numero 2 Ligier JS P3 di Alex Brundle, Michael Guasch e Christian England. I sostenitori della ELMS JMW Motorsport avevano festeggiato una durissima vittoria nella gara di casa nella classe LMGTE ma la “corsa” non si è conclusa con l’esposizione della bandiera a scacchi. Nelle verifiche tecniche post-gara un problema tecnico ha infatti portato alla esclusione del JMW Motorsport Ferrari, consegnando la vittoria alla numero 99 Aston Martin Racing Vantage V8 di Andrew Howard, Alex MacDowall e Darren Turner. The 2016 European Le Mans Series arrives in Italy for the second round of the six race series and the first of the five 3-day events that will feature a regular support races from the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup and the Renault Sport R.S.01 Trophy. Last month the 4 Hours of Silverstone set the scene for a season of dramatic racing in the 2016 European Le Mans Series. The typically English weather played its part. In the morning of race day it snowed but soon cleared to leave the track very wet for qualifying. The race started dry but a rain shower spiced up the show. The weather didn’t put off a good number of endurance racing fans, who enjoyed the autograph session, pitwalk and some of the best on track entertainment on offer anywhere in European Motorsport. At the end of the action packed 4-hour race the no38 G-Drive Racing Gibson-Nissan of Harry Tincknell, Simon Dolan and Giedo Van Der Garde was victorious at the end of a thrilling encounter that saw several cars challenging for the lead during the 240 minutes of racing. It was all smiles in the United Autosports garage as the Anglo-American team took a 1-2 finish on their LMP3 debut, with the no2 Ligier JS P3 of Alex Brundle, Michael Guasch and Christian England.

For more than 115 years Renault has embraced the challenge of motorsport in multiple guises.
