CIRMMT includes Quebec researchers in science, engineering, medicine and music from three institutions: McGill University, the University of Montreal and the University of Sherbrooke. With literally dozens of professors, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows working on issues relating to development, development studies has become core strength of McGill in general. Award Theme: Legal Studies For applications in: Comparative Law and Legal Pluralism Located at one of the world’s leading institutions for the comparative study of law, the McGill Visiting Research Chair provides a unique setting for research into the relationship between Canadian and U.S. law where emphasis would be placed on law as partaking of different legal traditions (the common law, the civil law, aboriginal law, religious law) and as a pluralistic phenomenon whereby law is created not just by the state but by other actors in the North American continent and beyond.
