QUESTIONS

1. KGOSI R. BANIKA (CHOBE): To ask the Minister of Agricultural (287) Development and Food Security whether there are any plans to preserve the reservations and cattle crushes constructed by the Colonial Development Corporation.

2. KGOSI E. JOEL ( REGION): To ask the Minister of Transport (288) and Communications: -

(i) if he is aware that the gravel road linking the villages of Motlhabaneng and Mathathane is in appalling state, if so;

(ii) when will a proper road be constructed; and

(iii) what interim solution will be put in place to arrest the prevailing situation especially during the heavy rains that the country is experiencing.

3. KGOSI E. MOLEHELE (GHANZI EAST REGION): To ask the Minister of (289) Defence, Justice and Security whether he is aware that Ghanzi Region operates with only one Magistrate; and if so, state when he intends to assign other Magistrates to that region.

4. KGOSI O. SETLHODI (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of (290) Agricultural Development and Food Security if he is aware of transport shortage for officers who patrol along the Mowana gate fence.

5. KGOSI C. R. HENDRICKS (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister (291) of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism to consider engaging local farmers living along the park fence which stretches from Two Rivers to Khawa to maintain the fence and not Ipelegeng programme as it is currently the case.

6. KGOSI T. MUNDUU (NGAMI REGION): To ask the Minister of Local (292) Government and Rural Development to explain when Gwexwa settlement will be merged with Komana village following an agreement made between the villagers and council authorities.

7. KGOSI R. BANIKA (CHOBE): To ask the Minister of Transport and (293) Communications whether there are any plans to bituminize the Kachikau/Parakarungu road.

8. KGOSI E. MOLEHELE (GHANZI EAST REGION): To ask the Minister of (294) Defence, Justice and Security to state what caused the delay in the construction of the Ghanzi Magistrate Court which was included in the NDP 11.

9. KGOSI E. S. GOBUAMANG (THAMAGA REGION): To ask the Minister (295) of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism to consider promoting recycling and re-using litter to reduce the amount of waste taken to landfills and maintain a clean environment.

10. KGOSI D. S. TOTO II (KGALAGADI SOUTH REGION): To ask the (296) Minister of Defence, Justice and Security to update this Honourable House on renovation, upgrading and extension of Tsabong Police station taking into consideration that Tsabong is the headquarters of Kgalagadi District and that the station is already serving a large population.

11. KGOSI M. KAHIKO III (GHANZI WEST REGION): To ask the Minister (297) of Local Government and Rural Development if he would consider absorbing intern officers attached at the Department of Tribal Administration since the said officers have different skills such as Information Technology (IT) and Administration.

12. KGOSI T. MUNDUU (NGAMI REGION): To ask the Minister of (298) Agricultural Development and Food Security to update this Honourable House:-

(i) on the number of cattle that were sold to Meat-Co of Namibia from Ghanzi region;

(ii) on the number of farmers who benefited from the sale;

(iii) if the process can be extended to Ngamiland farmers after COVID- 19 pandemic; and

(iv) if the deal was facilitated by the Government or it was between farmers and Meat-Co of Namibia.

13. KGOSI O. SETLHODI (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of (299) Defence, Justice and Security to state:-

(i) the reasons for stopping Kgomokhumo operation;

(ii) if there are any intentions to continue with the operation in the North West District; and

(iii) when he intends to provide stock theft unit in Maun with adequate human resource, office space and transport.

14. KGOSI M. MONYAMANE (KGALAGADI NORTH REGION): To ask the (300) Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development to:-

(i) apprise this House on the number of officers on internship programme in Kgalagadi North Region;

(ii) explain if he is aware that most intern officers are reluctant to accept the offer to work in Kgalagadi North due to limited resources in the area; and if so,

(iii) explain how he intends to address the situation.

15. KGOSI E. JOEL (BOBIRWA REGION): To ask the Minister of Transport (301) and Communications if he would consider tarring the 19km stretch of gravel road from Platjaan Bridge, especially that the construction of the Platjaan Bridge at / border is complete; if so when.

16. KGOSI S. MOSOJANE (NORTH EAST): To ask the Minister of Local (302) Government and Rural Development if he would consider transferring Plot 1130 in Francistown to the Department of Tribal Administration and house Customary Court of Appeal since the department has been desperately in need of decent office accommodation for the past 29 (twenty-nine) years.

17. KGOSI O. SETLHODI (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of (303) Agricultural Development and Food Security if there are any plans to assist farmers to curb cattle movement between communal and Haina Veldt ranches.

18. KGOSI R. BANIKA (CHOBE): To ask the Minister of Environment, Natural (304) Resources Conservation and Tourism if she is aware of any heritage sites in Chobe; and if any, does she have any plans in place to preserve them.

19. KGOSI S. MOSOJANE (NORTH EAST): To ask the Minister of Local (305) Government and Rural Development to update this Honourable House on progress made regarding the appointment of the Director of Tribal Administration after its advertisement.

20. KGOSI O. SETLHODI (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of (306) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism to apprise this Honourable House of plans to resuscitate the tourism sector in the North West District.

21. KGOSI E. JOEL (BOBIRWA REGION): To ask the Minister of (307) Agricultural Development and Food Security to:-

(i) update this Honourable House on the status of Motloutse Farms electrification project along Bobonong-Tobane gravel road;

(ii) state the number of farmers who benefited from it;

(iii) state how many farmers are in production and what they produce; and

(iv) explain the challenges encountered by the farmers.

22. KGOSI S. MOSOJANE (NORTH EAST): To ask the Minister of Local (308) Government and Rural Development to apprise this Honourable House when he would consider implementing Section 41 of Customary Court Act (Cap 04:05) which was amended in 2013 by appointing a President of Customary Courts of Appeal since this is long overdue.

23. KGOSI O. SETLHODI (SPECIALLY ELECTED): To ask the Minister of (193) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism to state:-

(i) interventions planned to assist Tsibogolamatebele farmers in Chanoga area on human wildlife conflict and reasons for the delay;

(ii) when she intends to address shortage of transport at Problem Animal Control Unit in Maun.

24. KGOSI E. JOEL (BOBIRWA REGION): To ask the Minister of (201) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism if she is aware that most villages in Bobirwa have given up on farming due to continuous destruction of their crops by wild animals and if so, what permanent solution she will put in place to avert the occurrence of this problem.

25. KGOSI R. RANCHOLO (TUTUME REGION): To ask the Minister of (254) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism if she is aware that there are Heritage Sites at Gweta village and what measures are in place to protect such sites.

26. KGOSI T. MUNDUU (NGAMI REGION): To ask the Minister of (259) Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism if she is aware that Khoemacau mine has closed the fire breaks that run from Makalamabedi to Old Ghanzi gravel with a gate hence making it difficult for farmers to access their farms through the fire breaks; and if so, how she intends to rectify the problem.
