Sony reveals that PS Now subscribers can download PS4 and PS2 games instead of streaming, eliminating the need for a constant high-speed internet connection. Sony’s introduction of PS Now a few years ago was both a defining and exciting moment for players of Sony’s home consoles. Of course, the idea of paying a monthly subscription to gain access to a library of games, which are playable via streaming, seemed like a step towards the future of gaming. However, PS Now has an essential requirement that not everyone has access to, which is a constant high-speed internet connection. Now Sony has a solution for players who wish to subscribe to PS Now but lacks the required internet speed to seamlessly stream games. In an announcement via the PlayStation Blog, Sony revealed that the streaming service will now allow players to download almost every single PS4 and PS2 game, which players can then play offline. Regarding save data from previously streamed games, Sony explained that these could be transferred to downloaded games, provided that the player has an existing PS Plus subscription. Moreover, players are required to connect online a few times a week to validate their PS Now subscription. It is worth noting that currently, not all games on the streaming service are eligible to download. As of now, confirmed titles include Bloodborne, God of War 3 Remastered, NBA 2K16 and many more.
