STATE SOLO & ENSEMBLE INFORMATION - VOCAL & PIANO EVENTS PERRY MERIDIAN HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL All times are E.S.T. (Indianapolis time) All Vocal Events will be held at Perry Meridian High School, 401 W. Meridian School Road. All Piano Events will be held at Perry Meridian Middle School, 202 W. Meridian School Road, on the north side of the street. MAPS & SCHEDULES: Directors: Give your students a copy of the building map along with the schedule! NOTE: Vocal Warm-up rooms and Performance rooms will be located on both the First and Second floors. A Teacher Workroom will be available to directors at PMHS in room 11M (located across from the cafeteria). PARKING: Parking for this event is very limited. Please make arrangements to carpool or travel in vans and minibuses to limit the number of vehicles at the site. Parking at Perry Meridian H.S. is available on the East side of the building, and parking at Perry Meridian M.S. on the South side of the building. PLEASE, NO PARKING ALONG THE STREET! Additional parking at Perry Meridian Middle School is available to assist with overflow from Vocal events at the High School. Please park only in areas designated for parking. No parking on grass, street, or where prohibited. No parking in fire lanes. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense. BUSES: Students may be dropped off on the East Side of Perry Meridian High School and enter through the Main Entrance (#1). After drop-off, buses will be directed to park on the North and West side of Perry Meridian H.S.

I’m sure you are all as happy as I am to see the first semester come to an end. Our students and staff have been working extremely hard and I know they are all ready for some much-deserved time-off. Here are some of the highlights from our fall semester: Speech-language pathology staff members are committed to ensuring that all students have a meaningful mode of communication. The group has been working on both high- and low-tech options for Assistive and Augmentative Communication tools for our stu- dents. Several staff members will also be attending professional development related to apraxia in January. Dr. Cathy Pratt will be working with our teachers of students with Autism throughout the school year. Dr. Pratt has observed in all our classrooms and consulted with teachers re- garding program needs. We are working as a team to develop a plan to better serve our students in this population. As we progress with Dr. Pratt this spring, our related service staff will be joining to add their input. The Indiana Department of Education has made significant changes to the Certificate of Completion, which is awarded at graduation to our students who participate in a modified curriculum. These changes will take effect with the 2018-2019 freshman class.

Wurl plays guard and has exceptional passing skills, along with being a strong shooter. Sue also captains the UMD women's cross country team and participated in the AIAW national championships in Tallahassee, Flori da, this past fall. Junior co-captain Sharon Meyer is also a native Duluthian and graduated from Duluth Central High School. Sharon is a strong jumper and a good inside player.
