STRESS ECHO/EKG TEST INSTRUCTIONS An exam using ultrasound waves to view heart muscle before and after exercise.

1. Wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. You will be walking on a treadmill for part of your test. 2. If you are sick, please re-schedule your appointment at least 24 hours prior. 3. Drink plenty of water, but nothing else to eat or drink 4 hours prior to test. 4. Diabetics: If you are on insulin, please take only half of your usual morning dose. If you are on an insulin pump that cannot be adjusted, please inform the technician at your appointment. If you are on oral , such as Metformin, please hold your usual morning dose. 5. No caffeine 24 hours prior to test. This includes coffee, tea, soda, and chocolate. 6. Unless otherwise instructed by your physician, please hold the following 24 hours prior to test:
