Antonio Picukarić 9 UVODNA RIJEČ Umjetnost briše razlike između centra i periferije Izložba Izazov moderne: Zagreb – Beč oko 1900. aktualizira višestoljetne veze dvaju gradova upravo na području gdje su one rezultirale najvidljivijim manifestacijama — na širokom polju vizualne kulture. Kroz arhitekturu, skulpturu i slikarstvo preplitanje bečke kulture sa zagrebačkom ostvarilo je rječite primjere na koje smo danas posebno ponosni i prema kojima se odnosimo s posebnim pijetetom. Bečka kultura na prijelazu stoljeća, posebno na području likovnih umjetnosti, ali i na svim ostalim planovima, meritum je gradovima Srednje Europe. Brojne izložbe na temu odnosa s Bečom održane diljem Europe svjedoče o važnosti utjecaja nekadašnje austrougarske prijestolnice na kulturu gradova poput Pariza, Berlina ili Budimpešte. Zagrebački umjetnici, vrativši se sa školovanja na bečkim visokim školama i akademijama, ostvarili su pravi likovni procvat, a umjetnost koju su pod okriljem bečke kulture ostvarili prepoznata je kao zagrebačka šarena škola. Umjetnike Beča i Zagreba na prijelazu iz 19. u 20. stoljeće okupirale su iste teme: zagrebački se umjetnici poput bečkih bore za slobodu umjetničkog izražavanja kao i za pro- fesionalizaciju vlastita poziva. Grade se umjetnički atelijeri, formiraju profesionalna društva, osnivaju programatski časopisi, otvaraju galerije i umjetničke škole, a to jedinstveno razdoblje umjetničkog poleta odvija se usporedno u Beču i Zagrebu. Na izložbi ćemo prvi put povezati djela velikana hrvatskog i austrijskog slikarstva i kiparstva, arhitekture i primijenjene umjetnosti, Gustava Klimta, Kolomana Mosera, Josefa Hoffmanna, Vlahe Bukovca, Roberta Auera, Ivana Meštrovića, Antonije Krasnik i drugih važnih protagonista toga umjetnički poticajnog doba. Izložba u Galeriji Klovićevi dvori pokazat će snažne veze, dosad neprimjetne podudarnosti, razriješit će dileme međusobnih utjecaja te, kao što to i priliči velikim projektima poput ovoga, skrenuti pozornost na vrijednosti hrvatske likovne baštine u kontekstu europske kulture. U godini kada obilježavamo prijateljstvo Republike Austrije i Republike Hrvatske, izložbeni program Galerije Klovićevi dvori bit će aktivnim sudionikom. Zahvaljujem našim osnivačima, Ministarstvu kulture Republike Hrvatske i Gradu Zagrebu, na svesrdnoj podršci projektu. Zahvalu izražavam svim muzejskim i galerijskim ustanovama koje su se uključile u ovaj projekt posudbom djela i dragocjenom kolegijalnom suradnjom, posebice Muzejima Ivana Meštrovića, Muzeju za umjetnost i obrt te Modernoj galeriji iz kojih dolazi najveći broj eksponata. Posebnu zahvalnost želim izraziti upravi Österreichische Galerie Belvedere na povjerenju koje nam je iskazala posudivši nam neka od svojih najvrednijih djela. Iskrenu zahvalu dugujem i svim ostalim institucijama i pojedincima Hrvatske i Austrije koji su se na tri mjeseca lišili svojih djela kako bi prezentaciju naše izložbe učinili što cjelovitijom. Primjerice europske metropole s obzirom na njihovo značenje u kulturnoj tradiciji. Smotra našeg imaginarnog pregleda pokazuje nekoliko gradova u kojima se na osobit način očituje dinamika razdoblja oko prijeloma stoljeća. Ako pretpostavimo još i natjecateljski odnos, najozbiljniji će konkurenti biti Pariz, Beč, Berlin, Sankt Peterburg i London. Usporedba između tih središta potvrđuje srodnost prvih dvaju gradova. Metropole s dugom kulturnom i političkom tradicijom, Beč i Pariz, bile su centri u pravom smislu, upravni, umjet- nički, znanstveni, gospodarski. Na neke druge zemlje s velikom kulturnom prošlošću, poput IZAZOV MODERNE: ZAGREB − BEČ OKO 1900. Slikarstvo, kiparstvo i arhitektura zagrebačke i bečke secesije 12 vijećnica, beč, oKo 1907., s veučilište, beč, oKo 1910., muzej za umjetnost i obrt, zaGreb muzej za umjetnost i obrt, zaGreb Italije i Njemačke, pojam centralizacije nije primjenjiv. Austrijsko i francusko središte srodna su, nadalje, i po tome što su, napose u 19. stoljeću, postala stjecišta različitih narodnosti i mjesta interkulturalnih procesa, u kojima su se prepoznavali tragovi imperijalne povijesti. Zanimljivo je da su oba grada svoj reprezentativan izgled u duhu predodžbe o velesili stekla tek u razdoblju kad je imperijalna epoha bila na izmaku. Dressler 2 Key words Abstract A catalogue of 29 German individuals who were active in the botanical exploration of Angola during the 19th and 20th centuries is presented. One of these is likely of Swiss nationality but with significant links to German Angola settlers in Angola. The catalogue includes information on the places of collecting activity, dates on which locations botanical exploration were visited, the whereabouts of preserved exsiccata, maps with itineraries, and biographical information on the German explorers collectors. Initial botanical exploration in Angola by Germans was linked to efforts to establish and expand Germany’s plant collections colonies in Africa. Later exploration followed after some Germans had settled in the country. However, Angola was never under German control. The most intense period of German collecting activity in this south-tropical African country took place from the early-1870s to 1900. Twenty-four Germans collected plant specimens in Angola for deposition in herbaria in continental Europe, mostly in Germany. Five other naturalists or explorers were active in Angola but collections have not been located under their names or were made by someone else. The general idea is to enrich those libraries with semantic networks of events providing a meaningful contextualisation of the digital libraries’ objects. More specific motivations are presented through a set of use cases by different actors who would benefit from using narratives for different purposes. Then, we consider a specific digital library, Europeana, the largest European digital library in the cultural heritage domain. We discuss how the Europeana Data Model could be extended for representing narratives, and we introduce an ontology for narratives. We also present a semi-automatic tool, which, on the basis of the ontology, supports the creation and visualisation of narratives, and we show how the tool has been employed to create a narrative of the life of the painter Gustav Klimt as a case study. In particular, we focus our attention on the functionality of the tool that allows extracting and proposing to the user specific digital objects for each event of the narrative. Colaborarea cu instituții, organizații, grupuri informale care se adresează aceleiași comunități Muzeul Național Peleș este cea mai importantă și reprezentativă instituție muzeală de rang național, nu numai din Sinaia, ci și de pe Valea Prahovei. Ca monument istoric, complexul arhitectonic Peleș este un reper național, dar și european. Ca instituție muzeală, în orașul Sinaia mai funcționează, ca secție a Muzeului Național ,,George Enescu” din București, Casa memorială ,,Vila Luminiș”, locul vacanțelor marelui compozitor George Enescu. Un alt monument istoric de maximă importanță este Mănăstirea Sinaia, care adăpostește și un mic, dar foarte valoros, muzeu de artă veche românească. Un rol cultural activ în viața orașului îl are și Centrul Cultural ,,Carmen Sylva”, aflat în subordinea Primăriei Sinaia, care găzduiește Biblioteca orășenească Sinaia și unde se desfășoară numeroase conferințe și acțiuni culturale. În luna decembrie 2015, a fost inaugurat Muzeul Orașului Sinaia, instituție muzeală aflată în subordinea Centrului Internațional de Conferințe „Cazino Sinaia” și care are un rol deosebit în recuperarea și valorificarea memoriei istorice și culturale a stațiunii. Pe Valea Prahovei, publicul larg are acces la Casa Memorială ,,Cezar Petrescu” din Bușteni, la Muzeul Cinegetic al Carpaților de la Posada, dar și la Palatul Cantacuzino din Bușteni, aflat în proprietate privată și deschis spre vizitare. Fără a minimaliza importanța celorlalte instituții muzeale din zonă, trebuie remarcată unicitatea, amploarea și valoarea excepțională a patrimoniului cultural gestionat de Muzeul Național Peleș, din punct de vedere artistic, istoric și arhitectonic, aceste atribute conducând la un mare aflux de vizitatori, care îi și conferă, anual, calitatea de cel mai vizitat muzeu din România.

    Vilko GECAN 1929 Vilko GECAN (Kuželj 1894 - Zagreb 1973) Galerija Adris Obala Vladimira Nazora 1 Rovinj • Rovigno 30 kolovoza / agosto / august 28 listopada / ottobre / october 2012 1 2 VILKO GECAN: ZAMRŠENI PUTI SVIJETOM I NUTRINOM Igor Zidić U trenutku kad se osipa najslavniji naraštaj naših münchenskih studenata – Račić umire 1908, Kraljević 1913, Becić napušta bavarsku metropolu 1909. i prelazi u Pariz, a Herman od 1911. zaranja u hebrejsku mitologiju i njemačku romantiku – u Zagrebu se i Pragu spontano formira generacija nasljednika: to su mladići desetak godina mlađi od velike četvorice neposrednih prethodnika; ne spominjemo ovdje Bukovca ni Medovića, Crnčića ni Vidovića – svi su oni znatno stariji pa je problematika njihovih opusa ostala s onu stranu interesa Kraljevićevih potomaka. To je trebalo reći da ne ostane ništa sporno: oni ne slijede Račića ni Becića, još manje Hermana; oni su fascinirani Kraljevićem i, da budemo precizni, onim dijelom Kraljevićeva opusa – naročito crtačkog i grafičkog – iz kojega se otvara put prema ekspresionizmu. Neke determinirane i mnogo slučajnih okolnosti pospješuju homogenizaciju te falange mladih i borbenih ljudi: svi su rođeni u razmaku od tri godine – Vilko Gecan 1894, Vladimir Varlaj 1895, Milivoj Uzelac i Marijan Trepše 1897. Varlaj polazi 1911/1913. privatnu slikarsku školu Tomislava Krizmana, a Gecan i Uzelac mu se pridružuju ujesen 1912. Godine 1913. Varlaj i Uzelac zajedno prelaze na Privremenu školu za umjetnost i umjetni obrt (buduća Akademija), a Gecan položi prijamni ispit na Akademie der Bildender Kunste u Münchenu. Već sljedeće 1914, zbog objave rata i mobilizacije, on mora prekinuti školovanje, a Varlaja i Uzelca – opet zajedno! – izbacuju iz Privremene.
