UIU starts the week by hosting the UW-Parkside Rangers on Tuesday at 7 p.m., followed by a trip to 11/21 Truman State L, 84-80 Winona, Minn, on Saturday to play the Winona State Warriors at 4 p.m. Tuesday night’s 11/24 Bellevue W, 85-74 game will be Pajama Night and one student in attendance will have a chance to win $500 by making a layup, free throw, three-pointer and a half-court shot in 30 seconds. In order to be eligible, students must sign up before tip-off and the name will be drawn during the 11/28 *Winona State W, 79-74 final media timeout of the second half. MSU shot 51.9% (28-54) from the floor and 55% (11-20) from three point range to keep the Peacocks at an arm’s length for most of the evening. Then on Friday, the Peacocks 12/15 Wisconsin-Parkside 7 p.m. snapped a three-game skid and reached the century mark for the first time this season with a commanding 103-80 win over the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears on Saturday night in 12/19 *Winona State 4 p.m. St. Paul, Minnesota. The Peacocks hit a season-high 15 trifectas on 26 attempts (57.7%), compared to the Golden Bears going 6-of-14, with all six coming in the second half. 1/2 *Minnesota State Moorhead 8 p.m. 1/3 *Northern State 6 p.m. KEY NOTES TO CONSIDER 1/8 *Southwest Minnesota State 8 p.m. 1 A CENTURY IN THE MAKING: Upper Iowa enters its 100th year of men’s basketball 1/9 *Sioux Falls 6 p.m. with the start of the 2015-16 season and third year under the tutelage of Brooks McKowen. 1/15 *Minot State 8 p.m. The Fairbank, Iowa native was named the 18th head coach in Peacock men’s basketball 1/16 *University of Mary 6 p.m. history prior to the 2013-14 season and holds a 39-34 record at UIU. 1/22 *Wayne State 8 p.m. 2 CANDY KANE: UIU freshman Elliot Kane caught fire against Concordia-St. Paul, hitting 1/23 *Augustana 6 p.m. 7 threes against the Golden Bears. The Peacocks have now won two-in-a-row against WSU after defeating the Warriors 90-76 in Fayette last December. Kyle Bauman scored a game-high 17 points and Riley Bambenek added 16 against CSP. WSU rallied from 20 down in the second half to get within one against MSU.
