Cox’s .340 hitting percentage and 3.73 kills per set places her second in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The First-Team All-MIAA selection was named MIAA Hitter of the Week five teams in 2013. Cox is a first-time AVCA All-American. Danielle Dahle, a 6-1 outside hitter for UC San Diego, is a sophomore from La Mesa, Calif. She led the Tritons in kills per set (3.25) and points per set (3.65) while also tallying 338 digs and 47 blocks. It is because of Dahle’s consistent play of 15 double-doubles that kept UC San Diego in the top-25 of the AVCA Coaches Poll all season, reaching as high as eighth. Dahle earns AVCA All-American honors for the first time. Taylor Goodness, a 6-0 outside hitter for the University of Central Missouri, is a senior from Salina, Kan. A unanimous First-Team All-MIAA selection, she led the strong conference with 4.04 kills per set and eighth with a .303 hitting percentage. In the Jennies NCAA Regional Quarterfinal win over Nebraska- Kearney, the senior tallied 22 kills on .367 hitting and added seven digs. Capping her fine career, Goodness can add “AVCA All-American” to her volleyball resume. Holly Hafemeyer, a 6-3 middle blocker for Augustana College (SD), is a senior from Faribault, Minn. There aren’t many players who dominate the net quite like Hafemeyer, placing second in the loaded NSIC in kills (4.32/s), blocks (1.14), and points per set (5.08). She also became the 21st Augustana volleyball player to hit 1,000 kills and ranks ninth all-time with 1,193 career kills as a Viking. Hafemeyer is now a two-time AVCA All-American. Anna Hilton, a 6-0 opposite for Wingate University, is a redshirt-senior from Hickory, N.C. She finished the regular season ranking in the top-12 in the South Atlantic Conference with 0.89 blocks per set (2nd), a .346 hitting percentage (3rd), 3.46 kills per set (6th) and 3.41 digs per set (12th). Hilton recorded 13 kills, 17 digs and seven blocks to lead the Bulldogs into the Elite 8 for the second straight year and the third time in for years. Hilton is a two-time AVCA All-American after earning third-team accolades a year ago. Samantha Hutchinson, a 5-7 libero for Western Washington University, is a junior from University Place, Wash. The GNAC Defensive Player of the Year was a terror on opponent hitters all year, as evidence by her 6.91 digs per set, good for second in the country. She ranks third among WWU career leaders in digs with 1,671. After making it as an AVCA Second-Team All-American a year ago, this marks her second AVCA All-American honor. Kayla Koenecke, a 5-9 opposite for Concordia University, St. Paul, is a senior from Delano, Minn. After being named to her fourth AVCA All-Region team, there is no doubt Koenecke will go down as one of the greatest to wear the uniform. Her .405 hitting percentage is tops in the nation, and her career .390 attack clip places her first all-time for the Golden Bears. She is also seventh in the NSIC averaging 3.67 kills per set while playing solid defense, placing second on the team in digs per set (3.53) and third in total blocks (77). Koenecke is now a four-time AVCA All-American, earning first-team accolades for the third consecutive year. Amanda Konetchy, a 5-7 setter for Concordia University, St. Paul, is a senior from Victoria, Minn. Many of the hitters that have come through the program certainly have Konetchy to thank.
