Leisure in Edmonton The activities we choose to fill our free time go a long way to creating balance in our lives while connecting us to our communities. Culture and art, sports activities, recreation or exploring our many parks and historical sites all play an important role in keeping us active while reflecting our cultural values. Museums, historic sites, businesses and community organizations in the greater Edmonton area have come together to host tours and events that allow a glimpse into our past and the impact it's made on today. History in the Classroom - The Society supports the History Centre in the Fort Heritage Precinct and presents free classroom visits to schools and community groups on the topics of the fur trade, Métis Nation and NWMP. History in the Community - Shirley Lowe offers presentations to community groups. Special Events - Occasionally EDHS sponsors bus tours and workshops for members and the general public.
