MICHAEL DORVILLIER NIGEL MATTHEWS CHAIRMAN, LA JOLLA CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE CHIEF JUDGE The La Jolla Historical Society welcomes back Michael Dorvillier as chair of the 2019 La Jolla Concours d’Elegance, Originally from Oxfordshire, England. Nigel has enjoyed the past 42 years living in Vancouver, British Columbia one of the Society’s major fundraising events. As a writer, publisher, television commentator and enthusiast, he is constantly on the go, meeting collectors and getting involved in their activities throughout the world. He is honored to return to the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance as emcee. Noted for his onstage wit, warmth and deep knowledge of Italian cars, Martin has been an emcee at Pebble Beach, Concorso Italiano, the Meadow Brook Concours, the Kirkland Concours, the Concours of America, Keels and Wheels in Houston, Hilton Head Concours, the Atlanta Concours, the Boca Raton Concours and many other events. Martin lives in Portland, Oregon with his budding-car-collector son, Bradley, aged ten. Bradley got his first car last year, a 1960 Bugeye Sprite. A video of him learning to drive a stick-shift with the Bugeye may be found on YouTube. His daughter, Alexandra, graduated from Oregon State University and is a support specialist at Daimler Trucks North America and blogs occasionally for BEST IN SHOW MOST OUTSTANDING PRE WAR AWARD SCM. First recognized by Harley-Davidson Motor Company for his artistic talent, he was signed by them to a long term contract. Since then, Scott has expanded into different genres entering himself into the mainstream of the fine art community. After years of achievement as an artist, Scott decided to get back into the retail business by opening a large gallery in Deadwood, SD called, Jacobs Gallery.
