This paper examines the tradeoff between public health risks and financial standing that school administrators faced when deciding reopening plans. Because in-person instruction at colleges and universities had large effects on COVID-19 case rates, it is critical to understand what caused these decisions. We used binary and multinomial probit models to evaluate an original data set of publicly available data as Citation: Tobin, Jonah, Oliver Hall, well as data from the College Crisis Initiative. Middlebury College Fall 2014 Student Profile Comprehensive Picture of the Student Body Office of Planning and Assessment November, 2014 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This publication provides a comprehensive picture of Middlebury College’s fall 2014 student body. As such, this profile is divided into several different parts. The sections include details on students enrolled on campus, students enrolled in study abroad programs affiliated with Middlebury, students enrolled in study away/abroad programs not affiliated with Middlebury, and totals for the entire enrolled student body respectively. Details on visiting undergraduate students as well as graduate students studying abroad in Middlebury programs are included as well. All data is based on the fall enrollment census. Much of the information in Section I, which details on‐ campus student enrollment, is used for federal reporting and is based on federal definitions. Saint James Parish Newsletter 830 East Veterans Way Mukwonago, WI 53149 262-363-7615 www.stjamesmukwonago.org APRIL 2019 Welcome Marco Melendez MARCO ANTONIO MELENDEZ, Liturgical Musician, Music Educator, Choral Director, & Vocal Pedagogue A native of San Angelo, Texas, Marco Antonio Melendez began his musical career as a member of the world renowned American Boychoir. While attending the American Boychoir School in Princeton, New Jersey, Mr. Melendez performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center in New York City with renowned musical figures such as Dr. James Litton, Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt, Yo-Yo Ma, Andre Previn, Wynton Marsalis, and Kurt Masur. As a conductor, educator, and sacred musician, Mr. Melendez has led choirs, taught seminars, and has been a guest artist for churches and music programs throughout the country. At only fifteen years of age, he was named the music director of the San Angelo Singing Boys of San Angelo, Texas. Two years later, he was named music director of St. Mark Presbyterian Church, San Angelo. He has founded several choral programs throughout the country as well as a Vocal Music Institute designed to provide young, dedicated singers an advanced level program in which they can progress in their efforts to becoming musical scholars. He has been music director of churches throughout Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and California. As director of music ministries of First United Methodist Church in San Angelo, TX he led the Sanctuary Choir on a tour to New York City, performing in Carnegie Hall with world renowned composer/conductor John Rutter. -

A WRITER’S CALENDAR Compiled by J. L. Herrera for my mother and with special thanks to Rose Brown, Peter Jones, Eve Masterman, Yvonne Stadler, Marie-France Sagot, Jo Cauffman, Tom Errey and Gianni Ferrara INTRODUCTION I began the original calendar simply as a present for my mother, thinking it would be an easy matter to fill up 365 spaces. Instead it turned into an ongoing habit. Every time I did some tidying up out would flutter more grubby little notes to myself, written on the backs of envelopes, bank withdrawal forms, anything, and containing yet more names and dates. It seemed, then, a small step from filling in blank squares to letting myself run wild with the myriad little interesting snippets picked up in my hunting and adding the occasional opinion or memory. The beginning and the end were obvious enough. The trouble was the middle; the book was like a concertina — infinitely expandable. And I found, so much fun had the exercise become, that I was reluctant to say to myself, no more. Understandably, I’ve been dependent on other people’s memories and record- keeping and have learnt that even the weightiest of tomes do not always agree on such basic ‘facts’ as people’s birthdays.
