    PAKISTAN CARD FAQs –Edition I NOTE: This document has been prepared by IOM – Humanitarian Communications Team for the field staff of the Humanitarian community. The answers have been provided by NADRA. New queries are documented following feedback from beneficiaries/affectees and hence, further editions will follow. 1. What is the Pakistan Card? The Pakistan Card is an initiative launched by the Government of Sindh to provide cash grants to people affected by the Monsoon floods of 2011. The cash grant will be distributed through an ATM Card, along the same lines as the Watan Card. 2. What is the difference between the Watan and Pakistan cards? The Watan Card was a Government of Pakistan initiative – issued by NADRA – to families affected by the catastrophic floods of 2010. This card provided the beneficiary one payment of Rs 20,000 under Phase I and a payment of Rs. 40,000 (in two tranches of Rs. 20,000) under Phase II. The Pakistan Card is meant for those affected by the rains and flash floods of 2011 and should not be confused with Phase II of the Watan Card project, which has recently started from Khyber‐Pakhtunkhwa. 3. Which areas will be catered to by the Pakistan Card? So far the Government of Pakistan in association with the Government of Sindh has decided to issue Pakistan Cards in thirteen (13) severely affected districts of Sindh, Thatta, Badin, Tharparkar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar and Shaheed Benazirabad (formerly Nawabshah), Mirpur Khas, Ghotki, Larkana, Jamshoro, Sanghar, Mitiyari, Khairpur. 4. How much money will be disbursed through the Pakistan Card? Beneficiaries will receive Rs.

Devolution has become an important aspect of the planning and decision making process. Decentralization is being emphasized by both public and private sectors of development. In such a situation, present study focuses on the evaluation of the past and present patterns of the levels of development in various districts of the province of Sindh. All cloud optical properties were analyzed using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data for 12 years from 2001 to 2013. We also monitored origin and movements of air masses that bring aerosol particles and may be considered as the natural source of aerosol particles in the region. For this purpose, the Hybrid Single Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory (HYSPLIT) model was used to make trajectories of these air masses from their sources. Aerosol optical depth (AOD) high values were observed in summer during the monsoon period (June–August). The highest AOD values in July were recorded ranges from 0.41 to 1.46. In addition, low AOD values were found in winter season (December–February) particularly in December, ranges from 0.16 to 0.69. We then analyzed the relationship between AOD and Ångström exponent that is a good indicator of the size of an aerosol particle.
