1 2 of Adoration (the Te Deum laudamus1 in unison) You are God: we praise you; you are the Lord: we acclaim you; you are the eternal Father: all creation worships you. To you all angels, all the powers of heaven, cherubim and seraphim, sing in endless praise: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. The glorious company of apostles praise you. The noble fellowship of prophets praise you. The white-robed army of martyrs praise you. Throughout the world the holy Church acclaims you; Father, of majesty unbounded, your true and only Son, worthy of all worship, and the , advocate and guide. You, Christ, are the king of glory, the eternal Son of the Father. When you became man to set us free you did not shun the Virgin's womb. You overcame the sting of death and opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers. You are seated at God's right hand in glory. We believe that you will come and be our judge. Come then, Lord, and help your people, bought with the price of your own blood, and bring us with your to glory everlasting. Amen.

3 RENEWAL

Confession of Sin Almighty God, we come to you in sorrow for our sins, and to humbly confess to you our unbelief. While we know and believe that Jesus died for us on the cross, and that he was raised for us from the dead, we admit it often makes too little diference in our lives. Forgive us, we pray. Enable us to fully embrace the truth of the , so that our love for you may fourish, that our obedience may be wholehearted and joyful, and that our witness may be more courageous. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our risen Savior, and triumphant Lord. Amen.

Private Confession

Words of Encouragement & Declaration of Pardon For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. [Colossians 1:13-14 (NIV)]

4 5 Scripture Lesson: Christ our Passover (Pascha nostrum; responsive) Alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrifced for us; * therefore let us keep the feast. Not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, * but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Alleluia. Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; * death no longer has dominion over him. The death that he died, he died to sin, once for all; * but the life he lives he lives to God. So also consider yourselves dead to sin, * but alive to God in Jesus Christ our Lord. Alleluia. Christ has been raised from the dead, * the frst fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by a man came death, * by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, * so also in Christ shall all be made alive. Alleluia. — from 1 Corinthians 5:7-8; Romans 6:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 [BCP]

COMMITMENT

Scripture Lesson: John 11:17-27 17On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. 18Now Bethany was less than two miles from Jerusalem, 19and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother. 20When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home. 21“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” 23Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” 25Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” 27“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” [NIV] Reader: The Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God.
