Key # mark converted for banked track factor

2016 NCAA INDOOR Championship Qualifying Automatic qualifying standards no longer exist. Fields will be fixed to 16 participants per gender in individual events and 12 relays per gender. Across all divisions a new “indexing” formula will be used to convert performances based on track size and composition. Banked and oversized (over 200 meters) tracks will be considered the same for qualification purposes (which had not been the case prior in Division II). For the first time, the same factor will be used across the three divisions to convert for qualification. Instead of a set addition or subtraction factor per event, starting this year, performances for track size will be multiplied by a factor for converted seed time needs.
