Instead we’ll say goodbye to our home league matches with no-one bar staf and ofcials atending and with a Cup quarter fnal stll to be, hopefully, played! It’s been the most surreal of years for everyone, who’d have thought when we hosted Rovers in the sheets of rain back in February that only a few short weeks later, everything would be turned upside down. As a result we only managed to print three programmes, four with the producton of the Europa Premier Division League special and because of that I’ve been denied much of the regular 1923/24, 1927/28, 1929/30, face to face banter and interacton that accompanies the positon. We’ve 1933/34, 1935/36, 1974/75, ploughed on relentlessly but a huge gap stll ensued. So I’m taking the chance 1977/78, 2000/01, 2002/03, to thank all who have assisted me over the course of the season. 2008, 2009 To Tony Magner, Stephen Burke, Robert McDonald, Dan McSwiney, Ryan Clarke, Aidan Fitzmaurice, , Declan Farrell, Gerard Farrell, FAI Cup , Chris Brien, Eric Lalor, Deirdre and Laura Cliford, Lynn O’Neill, Jule 1927/28, 1934/35, 1969/70, Marks, Tommy Hynes, Paddy Murray, Gavin White, Keith Murphy, Eamon Carr, 1975/76, 1991/1992, Dan Brennan, Bartley Ramsey, Shaun Maher, Derek Swan, Donal Broughan, 2000/01, 2008 Luke O’Riordan... a huge thank you for all your help, contributons and artcles throughout the year. League Cup To our photographers, Stephen Burke, Eddie Lennon, Peter O’Doherty, 1974/75, 1978/79, 2009 Martn Doherty, Conor Ryan and those in Sportsfle, many thanks for contnuing to send in great pictures. They may only have worked three games Setanta Cup but our sales team of Gerry Juhel, Ray Larkin, Killian Molloy, Timothy Boland, 2010 Joe Collins, and Cormac Hurrell were as impeccable as ever. Leinster Cup To all who contacted me with huge shows of appreciaton and support for 1895/95 - 2016: contnuing to produce an editon, your words of kindness were welcome. A record 32 ttles Lastly and defnitely not least, to my wife Sandra; between working from home and working on the programme, I may as well have moved into the LoI Shield home ofce but you were always there with unending support; thank you so 1923/24, 1927/28, 1928/29, much. 1933/34, 1938/39, 1939/40 Finally; we are delighted that all online editons will be printed and Irish FA Cup available to buy in November! A lot of water has passed under the bridge since we last had JJ Lunney in these pages during his frst spell with the club back in the 2018 season where he made 21 league appearances. Aer a year away in , the year old former Malahide nited, Preston North End and St. Patrick’s Athletc man is back in the Bohemian engine room, at last a veteran of European football having been denied said honour at Waterford. Capped at all levels up to u for Ireland, the Swords man has made league appearances this season with two more in the cups. Both JJ and Conor Levingston have made our midfeld one of the most compettve spots in the team.

Super 8… He started the season in the frst eleven and remained there untl recent weeks when the aforementoned Levingston regained the shirt, a mirror opposite of his frst spell at Dalymount when it was JJ who had to bide his tme. He came to the fore aer the departure of Dylan Wats that season and never really looked back. We went on a long unbeaten run towards the end of that season and it was by far and away the most I had enjoyed my football in my career up to that point, he smiles. We played some lovely stuf as a team and I was pleased with my contributon to that. The frst few months were tough but Dylan was playing so well that I really couldn’t have any complaints What was important was that when my chance did come along I took it and fnished the season strongly.

Playing The Blues… He had a tough call to make that winter when Waterford came calling. In the end, a wrench though it was, the lure of European football proved too strong to resist. Waterford were denied that very opportunity in the end but JJ Has no regrets about his tme down south or the decision he made to leave in the frst place. It was a very tough break Gypsy Return… and a real kick in the teeth When Keith Long came calling being removed from Europe but last winter, JJ was ready to come that’s football, he recalls with back to Phibsborough and jumped a wince.
