Yes Featuring Jon Anderson – Trevor Rabin – Rick Wakeman – Live at the Apollo Yes featuring Jon Anderson – Trevor Rabin – Rick Wakeman – Live At The Apollo (120:00, Blu-ray,Eagle Vision/Universal, 2018) Vorweg einmal ausnahmsweise etwas weiter ausgeholt. So weit, so gut. Oder die „Fly From Here“-Tournee? ‚Lift Me Up‘, ‚Changes‘, ‘Rhythm Of The Heart’, ‚Hold On‘ auf der einen Seite, ‚I’ve Seen All Good People’, ‘And You And I’, ‘Heart Of The Sunrise’ und ‘Long Distance Runaround/Fish’ andererseits als die erwartbaren Oldies. Gar nichts. Nullkommanull. Keinerlei Extras, was in diesem Falle natürlich fahrlässig ist. Grandiose Musiker, grandiose Musik, lieblose Umsetzung. Dieses Jubiläum hätte viel mehr verdient. The legendary rock band YES is back after a 25 year hiatus, and it’s kicking off a global tour with a stop in Philadelphia. The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in association with BRE Presents & LME are proud to announce that the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees will take the Verizon Hall stage on October 1 at 7:30PM. Long-time YES fans can rejoice as Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman will reform the definitive YES line-up as Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman (ARW). “As one of the most influential and outstanding progressive rock bands in history, YES has transcended musical genres and accrued noteworthy accomplishment throughout its career,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “It is truly a surreal experience to be able to welcome these divine musicians to our campus, to put on what is sure to be a stunning performance for rock fans everywhere.” Since last playing together as YES in 1990 on the highly successful ‘Union Tour,’ there have been several hybrid versions of the English rock band, however, none that featured the iconic voice of founding member Jon Anderson, the outstanding talent of guitarist Trevor Rabin, and the keyboard wizardry of Rick Wakeman, until now.

Retriever, November 6, 1978 15 ~ ~@UIT©rnl~£!\[l ~@[MJ[MJ~~IJ========= Red tape cheating UMBC students Eighty-eight students were denied defernnents on their tuition and housing bills after there was still some delay in processing federal financial aid requests. That means they have been deregistered and are officially no longer stu dents at UMBC. What can they do now? They have attended classes for two months, all the time assuming they would receive financial aid. They've been thrown out of UMBC with bills ranging from $380 to nearly $1,200 for residence that they must pay. This doesn't even include all the other expenses they have had, such as books, gas, bus fares, parking registration, pens and paper. To top it off they have 90 days to pay their bills before the state central collection agency begins collecting. If these students had known they were ineligible- which isn't necessarily true -they could have spent the past two months earning enough to pay the spring semester tuition or to find an alternative source of income for this semester. Instead, they've spent the past two months toiling away. And for what? Nothing, apparently. They are to be taken off class lists and they can start packing. They can't pay their bills because of a snag in the federal bureaucracy. It just doesn't seem fair. Federal bureaucracy fouls things up, a "thinking" computer delays the procedures and the victims, UMBC students, must pay for it. The 88 students in this predicament should be allowed to continue attend- bureaucratic red tape.

Perhaps, as Prial suggests, Hammond’s relationship to the Vanderbilts did him more good in his early years in music than his social skills. There are questions unanswered and undeveloped in this biography related to Hammond the man, such as his falling out with Aretha Franklin or his quick parting with Dylan. Each chapter of this book comes (another assault on your pocketbook) with a wonderful ‘‘discography’’ that should slow down the pace of reading but will contribute to a great start in building a library of American music of the 20th century. It is quite something how much music Hammond had a role in, and this portion of the book is an important reminder of the times and genres Hammond touched. As with all biographies there are problems and limitations. For those of us raised in the second half of the century, The Producer fails to deliver the same magic surrounding the discovery and signing of ‘‘our’’ heroes as it does around the early stars.

Bands that helped to contribute to that wave had been predecessor to conceptual music in appearance and in sound during the late 1960s and 1970s, and the band Yes continued their presence through the following decade and on their album “90125”; the title originated from the band’s then record label ATCO and its catalog number that was misprinted. Aside from that, it was the most commercially produced albums in the band’s discography and of the decade, and it did not hurt that they became a major part of the MTV age in music and videos.By far, the single “Owner of a Lonely Heart” is the most memorable of the tracks on the album that is followed by “Leave It” and “It Can Happen.” Each song had a music video that played in heavy rotation on the music video channel. On the deluxe edition of the album and in addition to the initial album’s list of tracks, listeners have the chance to listen to alternate versions and extra tracks that are not on the original record,

  • Gordon Giltrap BIOGRAPHY
Gordon Giltrap BIOGRAPHY Over the past forty years, Gordon Giltrap has graced the music business with his dedication to his craft and his affection for his audience. As one of the UK's most respected guitarists, he has consistently proved the adage that respect cannot be bought. It must be earned. Gordon was born on 6 April 1948, at the British Home for Mothers and Babies in Brenchley, Kent. The son of a labourer, he grew up in an austere but protective community of terraced houses in Deptford, south-east London. His obsession with stringed instruments began nine years later, when a friend turned up at the house with an out-of-tune Spanish guitar. Keen to encourage his new hobby, his parents bought him a plastic ukulele with a picture of Elvis on the headstock, then a Martin Coletti archtop jazz guitar with a sunburst finish and a brown canvas case. Without a teacher to guide him and just a set of pitch pipes and a book entitled “First Steps” he taught himself how to tune the instrument and finger basic chords. A familiar story I’m sure you have heard before from many of the guitar legends around today! Gordon joined his first band when barely in his teens, and relished the opportunity to play songs by his idols - Cliff Richard, The Shadows and The Everly Brothers. He set his sights on Art College, but bowed to his father's insistence that he learn "a trade", and grafted his way through a series of unrewarding jobs. Gordon unwittingly taught himself a hybrid technique of plectrum and little finger, but in doing so, created the individual sound that is still his trademark.
