I. THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM: JESUS’ 1,000-YEAR REIGN ON EARTH

A. The word “millennium” in the Biblical sense refers to the prophetic time frame of one thousand years of Jesus’ reign on the earth. Millennium is from the Latin “ mille” (a thousand). I saw thrones, and they (saints) sat on them…They lived and reigned with Christ for 1000 years …6 They shall reign with Him 1000 years . (Rev. 20:4-6)

One like the Son of Man (Jesus) …came to the Ancient of Days (Father) …To Him (Jesus) was given…a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him…His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve Him. (Dan. 7:13-14, 27)

Jerusalem shall be called the Throne of the LORD , and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem . (Jer. 3:17)

When the Son of Man comes in His glory...then He will sit on the Throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him... (Mt. 25:31-32)

B. The Millennial Kingdom is one of the major revelations of Scripture. Jesus’ core message was that God’s Kingdom was being released in a new measure on earth. The NT makes clear that the kingdom is ‘already here’ (in a limited expression) but is ‘not yet’ fully here until Jesus returns.

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven . (Mt. 6:10)

C. At this time the Kingdom of God will be openly visible worldwide affecting every area of life (political, social, agricultural, economic, spiritual, educational, law enforcement, family, media, arts, technology, athletics, environment, social institutions, etc.).

D. In the Millennium all the kings of the earth will be saved and worship Jesus and base their national governments on God’s Word.

All kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him. (Ps. 72:11)

All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord, When they hear the words of Your mouth. Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, For great is the glory of the Lord. (Ps 138:4-5)

E. The result will be a 1,000-year period of unprecedented blessing for the whole earth as Jesus establishes righteousness and prosperity, and restores the agriculture, atmosphere, and animal life to some of the conditions that were seen in the Garden of Eden

...in the latter days the mountain of the Lord's house Shall be established...And all nations shall flow to it... [and]shall come and say, "...let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house (house of prayer ) of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem .(declaratory intercession) He shall judge between the nations...They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore. (Isaiah 2:2-4) The people who walked in darkness (resistors of the anti christ kingdom) Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined. You have multiplied the nation and increased its joy; They rejoice before You...For You have broken the yoke of his (Satan and the anti christ kingdom) burden And the staff of his shoulder...For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end , Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever . The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (Isa. 9:2-7)

Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist. "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den.. For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea. “And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious." (Isa. 11:9-10)

F. Jesus as King of kings will personally govern a worldwide Kingdom from Jerusalem. He will do this in partnership with resurrected saints.

And he who overcomes, and keeps my works until the end, to him I will give power (authority) over the nations (Rev. 2:26)

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit (have authority) with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Rev. 3:21)

For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth. (Rev. 5:9-10)

Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? (1 Cor. 6:2-3)

II. THE CHRONOLOGICAL SEQUENCE OF THE MILLENNIUM

A. Revelation 20 and 21 gives to us the consecutive events that will begin the Millennial Kingdom and end the millennial reign of Christ. These events described by John will occur in succession one right after the other and are announced by John as an “I saw” statement by John

B. Scene #1: Satan is cast into prison for 1000 years so he cannot deceive the nations. Then I saw an angel…having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon …the Devil…and bound him for 1000-years ; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up…that he should deceive the nations no more till the 1000-years were finished. After these things he must be released for a little while. (Rev. 20:1-3)

C. Scene #2: Jesus with the resurrected saints will be given the governmental leadership over the millennial earth and judge with Jesus at the Sheep and Goat Judgment. (Matt. 25:31-36) I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them.

D. Scene #3: The Beheaded martyrs are resurrected. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands . And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not live again until the 1000-years were finished. This is the first resurrection…. (Rev. 20:4-6)

E. Scene #4: Satan is released to deceive the nations and thus prove that God’s judgments are just. When the 1000-years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations…in the four corners of the earth…to gather them together to battle , whose number is as the sand…9 They went up…and surrounded…the Beloved City. Fire came down…and devoured them. 10 The devil…was cast into the lake of fire … (Rev. 20:7-10)

F. Scene #5: God has a final judgment of the human race at the Great White Throne. Then I saw a great white Throne …12 I saw the dead…standing before God, and books were opened…the dead were judged according to their works…14 This is the second death . 15 Anyone not…in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (Rev. 20:11-15)

G. Scene #6: God dwells in face to face fellowship with His people on the New Earth forever. I saw a new heaven and a new earth … I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven…3 Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men…God Himself will be with them …4 God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor

crying… 8 The cowardly…murderers, sexually immoral… shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire…which is the second death. (Rev. 21:1-8)

III. SATAN IS BOUND

A. The purpose and plan of Jesus as Redeemer was to reverse the consequences of sin that began with the action of Adam. The corruption caused by disobedience allowed Satan to have limited but powerful authority over the earth. When Jesus receives His absolute authority over the earth as a man (as God he already has absolute authority) His first order of business will be to deal directly with Satan.

B. Satan’s forces under the command of the Antichrist have been totally destroyed and the Antichrist and the False prophet have been cast alive into the lake of fire. Satan will still be in existence though completely defeated. The power of agreement from man upon the earth will be totally shattered.

C. It is God’s plan not to cast him to the lake of fire quite yet. His adversarial characteristics will be used for God’s purposes once again at the end of the Millennium. So for now he will be neutralized for the thousands years at the beginning of the millennium.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the DRAGON , that SERPENT OF OLD , who is the DEVIL and SATAN, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. (Rev. 20:1-3)

D. The bottomless pit – or the abyss is a prison for fallen angels that are released in the End- Times at the fifth trumpet (Rev. 9:1-4, demonic locusts). The Antichrist spends time there as does a demonic king named Abaddon (Rev. 9:11) plus a multitude of demonic locusts.

Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit , and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. (Rev. 9:1-3)

And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon. (Rev. 9:11)

When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. (Rev. 11:7)

The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. (Rev. 17:8)

E. Demonic spirits and evil kings at the end of the Tribulation are imprisoned in this pit.

The Lord will punish on high the host of exalted ones (demonic principalities, etc.), and on the earth the kings of the earth. 22 They will be gathered together , as prisoners are gathered in the pit (bottomless pit), and will be shut up in the prison (as in Rev. 20:1-3); after many days (1,000 years) they will be punished (in the Lake of Fire ). Then the moon will be disgraced and the sun ashamed; for the LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem (in the Millennium) and before His elders, gloriously. (Isa. 24:21-23)

IV. THRONES ARE SET UP AND JUDGMENT BEGINS: THE SHEEP AND GOATS JUDGMENT

A. With the Antichrist, false prophet those that took the mark and now Satan bound all that is left on the earth are the Gentile resistors -- the unsaved survivors of the Tribulation who refused to worship the Antichrist. These resisters stand against the evil governments of the Antichrist without regard to having faith in God..

B. These Gentiles will be judged at the Sheep and Goat Judgment spoken of by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse.

"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory . All the nations will be gathered before Him , and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats… Then the King (Jesus) will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world : for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when…And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, (adelphos: having the same national ancestry, belonging to the same people) you did it to Me.' Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels … 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."(Matt. 25:31-42,45,46)

C. The Lord makes clear that He will personally conduct the judgment form His throne as King of the earth. Secondly, “all the nations” will be gathered before Him to undergo judgment. The word used for nations is ethnos which can be translated heathen or peoples. It was a word used by Jews to describe non-Jewish people. Therefore, this judgment refers only to those non-Jewish people who will survive the Day of the Lord. International House of Prayer: Eastern Gate www.ihopeg.org

D. All that had taken the mark of the beast have already been destroyed at the battle of Armageddon.

If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. (Rev. 14:9)

by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image . These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse (Rev. 19:20- 21) Those with the mark will have already been singled out and dealt with accordingly. Scripture seems to indicate that the sheep and the goats will be those Gentiles who have refused the mark of the Beast who neither acknowledged the Antichrist or Jesus as Messiah and will somehow survive the great tribulation and God’s wrath. They will return to God’s holy mountain to be judged.

E. Referring back to the text of this Judgment, Jesus taught that the basis of judgment of theses Gentile people will be their individual treatment of Jews regardless of social status or monetary position -- “the least of these of my brothers” ( Adelphos Gr. Having the same national ancestry, belonging to the same people or countrymen ).

F. In the context of the End Time events and in referring to the countrymen of Jesus meaning the Jewish people we see that judgment will be based on how these men and women have treated the Jews in hiding during their time of great distress by the hands of the Antichrist. Their treatment of these Jews will be considered the same as their treatment of Christ Himself.

I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse (Gen 12:3)

G. Those that have done Israel harm in any way, or refused them help during Israel’s great time of persecution will be condemned. Those that have befriended Israel will be spared. It is essential to understand however that the ultimate basis for salvation of the sheep will not be based upon their works. Those of the category of sheep will enter into the millennial kingdom and will be given the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Messiah. This is once again an ultimate act of the mercy of God. The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might; They shall put their hand over their mouth; Their ears shall be deaf. They shall lick the dust like a serpent; They shall crawl from their holes like snakes of the earth. They shall be afraid of the Lord our God, And shall fear because of You. Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:10, 16-19)

V. THE RESSURECTED MARTYRS, THE FIRST RESSURECTION AND THE SECOND DEATH

A. The next event is the resurrection of this special group of martyrs during Satan’s rage but after the rapture of the church.

And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead (from the judgments of God) did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them , but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. (Rev. 20:4-6)

B. There are two types of resurrections that this passage speaks directly to—the first being a “resurrection of life” and the second being a resurrection of judgment which is also the second death.

"Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth... to a resurrection of life , [or]... to a resurrection of judgment . (John 5:28-29)

C. Scripture teaches that the “resurrection of life” involves several different phases. First there is the resurrection of Christ Himself, specifically called the firstfruits of the first resurrection (1 Cor. 15:20-23). Then the resurrection of the “dead in Christ” at the rapture and finally the “beheaded martyrs” at the Millennium. There will also be a fourth phase when the believing men and women who have gone into the Millennium receive their resurrection bodies after they die during the Millennium or transformed at the making of the New Heaven and New Earth.

The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (Rev. 20:13-15)

D. The second resurrection is the “resurrection of judgment” that will take place at the Great White Throne Judgment at the end of the Millennium. This will be a time that all those that have died as un-believers throughout all the ages will then come to life with resurrected bodies to be judged without Christ and then condemned and thrown into the lake of fire.

VI. SATAN RELEASED TO DECIEVE THE NATIONS

Now when the 1000-years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. Fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are… (Rev. 20:7-10)

A. At the end of the Millennial Reign, Satan is loosed and is able to deceive a vast multitude to follow him in one final rebellion against Jesus and His Kingdom. It seems that they will "take for granted" how good they have it and some may even harbor doubts about the goodness of God. Even though the number who rebel with Satan are said to be "as the sand of the sea" (Rev. 20:7), they may still be a minority compared to the number who do not rebel. Undoubtedly, one of the primary reasons God gives us this picture of what will happen in time is to demonstrate the deep- seated sin nature inherent in all of humanity.

B. Satan must be released…Why? God will openly manifest the truth about the depth of human sin (called the mystery of lawlessness in 2 Thes. 2:7) and about Satan as being incurably evil . Satan immediately deceives the nations revealing that there was no rehabilitation or change in his character during his 1,000-year prison sentence.

"The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings (Jer. 17:9-10)

VII. THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE ABOUT THE MILLENIAL KINGDOM

A. Jesus will rule the earth with the natural human processes not suspended , yet significantly enhanced by the supernatural dimension of the Spirit.

B. As Gentile believers we have a Greek mindset when it comes to God. Our most natural paradigm is to think of worshipping Jesus as God in the supernatural conditions of heaven . We emphasize Jesus’ deity as the Son of God . Whereas, the Jewish paradigm, speaks of reigning with the Messianic King as a man in the natural conditions of the earth . They emphasize the Messiah’s humanity as the Son of David . The full truth is only seen when these two paradigms are brought together.

VIII. HEAVENLY JERUSALEM AND EARTHLY JERUSALEM BROUGHT TOGETHER

A. Scripture describes two Jerusalems in God’s plan in the Millennium: the heavenly Jerusalem (New Jerusalem) and earthly Jerusalem (Millennial Jerusalem). The New Jerusalem will descend to the earth to connect with Millennial Jerusalem. This will result in the supernatural glory of heaven and natural conditions of earth being manifest in one city.

B. During the Millennial reign of Christ, Jerusalem will be re-built as the world-wide headquarters of Jesus. Jesus will judge all the nations on earth from His “Throne of glory” in Millennial Jerusalem which will be in the Holy of Holies of the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem. Jesus will build the Millennial Temple and put His Throne in it (functioning as king and priest).

When the Son of Man comes in His glory...then He will sit on the Throne of His glory . 32 All the nations (currently on earth) will be gathered before Him... (Mt. 25:3-32)

At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD , and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. (Jer. 3:17)

The glory of the LORD came into the Temple (Millennial Temple) ...6 I heard Him speaking to me from the Temple ...7 He said, "This is the place of My Throne and the place of the soles of My feet ,(as a man) where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever.(Ezek. 43:4-7) Thus says the LORD..."Behold, the Man (Jesus) whose name is the BRANCH! from His place He shall branch out (progressively increase) , and He shall build the Temple of the LORD; 13 Yes, He shall build the Temple of the LORD. He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on His Throne ; so He shall be a priest on His Throne .” (Zech. 6:12-13)

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God , in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion , on the sides of the north, the city of the great King ." (Psalm 48:1,2)

And in that day it shall be That living waters shall flow from Jerusalem …And the Lord shall be King over all the earth . In that day it shall be-- "The Lord is one," And His name one. 10 All the land shall be turned into a plain…Jerusalem shall be raised up and inhabited…The people shall dwell in it; And no longer shall there be utter destruction… (Zech. 14:8-11)

C. The New Jerusalem will descend to a place above Millennial Jerusalem. This will be the governmental center of heaven and earth referred to as Jesus’ Throne of glory (Mt. 19:28; 25:31). Jerusalem will be the capital city for Jesus’ worldwide government (Jer. 3:17; Isa. 2:2-4; 24:23; Ezek. 43:7; Mic. 4:7; Zech. 6:12-13; 14:9-11).

D. The spirit realm and the material realm come together as the New Jerusalem will descend to the earth (Rev. 3:21). This happens in two stages. First, the New Jerusalem will descend to earth just after Jesus’ Coming to begin the Millennium (Rev. 21:10). Second, the New Jerusalem will descend to the New Earth after the Millennium (Rev. 21:2). Stage one of the descent of the New Jerusalem is partial yet substantial . Stage two is total and ultimate after the Millennium.

E. During the first stage, the New Jerusalem will not “rest on” the Millennial earth but will be above it. It will be close enough to the earth to be vitally connected to Millennial Jerusalem.

F. Jesus is both God and man; therefore, He has authority on both heaven and earth. His authority in heaven is based on the fact that He is God. His authority on earth is based on the fact that He is a man. He has a dual nature with dual authority. All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth . (Mt. 28:18)

G. Jesus will have authority as a man to use the keys of the Kingdom to release an open heaven and call down the New Jerusalem as well as to lock the prison door on Satan.

He…has the key of David…opens and no one shuts , and shuts and no one opens. (Rev. 3:7)

I have the keys of Hades and of Death. (Rev. 1:18)

He (angel under Jesus’ authority) laid hold of…Satan and bound him for 1000-years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him… (Rev. 20:2-3)

H. When the New Jerusalem comes to earth, then heaven is literally on earth. Heaven and earth come together as the New Jerusalem descends to the Millennial Jerusalem. The New Jerusalem is the place where resurrected saints will live. The earth will continue forever.

The New Jerusalem , which comes down out of heaven from My God. (Rev. 3:12)

I. The size of the Millennial Jerusalem is approximately 10 square miles (4,500 rods x 4,500 rods; Ezek. 48:30-35; 45:6; 48:15-19) whereas; the New Jerusalem would be roughly 1400 miles long, high, and wide. If placed in America, it would reach from New York City to Denver, Colorado, and from Canada to Florida. (Rev. 21:16).

The city was perfectly square, as wide as it was long. The angel measured the city with his measuring stick: it was fifteen hundred miles long and was as wide and as high as it was long . (Rev. 21:16 Good News Translation )

J. Our earth has approximately 197,000,000 Sq. miles of surface area including water. If one multiplies 1500 by 1500 by 1500 (the dimensions of the New Jerusalem), you would arrive at the total cubic miles of the city, 3,375,000,000 sq. miles. This is some seventeen times the combined surface of the entire earth, including both land and water area!

K. It has been estimated that approximately 40 billion people have lived on our planet since the creation of Adam. Of this number, over 5-6 billion people are living today. Studies of city populations show us that every single one of these 40 billion could easily be accommodated upon just the first “foundational floor” of this huge 1500 mile-layered cubed city.

L. The Millennial population will grow to a significant number over the thousand years. Some estimate that it will be over 50 billion people because of the prolonged life and the large amount of families. (the earths population today is 6.7 billion)

M. The Millennial Temple on the earth will be in the Millennial Jerusalem which includes the House of Prayer with the Holy of Holies as the center of the worldwide worship and prayer movement. This brings an intimate relational aspect to the Millennial Kingdom as we encounter God and partner with Him in ruling through intercession.

For My house (temple) shall be called a House of Prayer for all nations. (Isa. 56:7) )

N. The New Jerusalem will descend to a place above Millennial Jerusalem (Temple on Mt. Zion) creating a vast “governmental complex”. It will be the governmental center of heaven and earth referred to as Jesus’ Throne of glory . Jesus’ Throne in the Millennial Temple or House of Prayer will be the center of His government. When the Son of Man comes…then He will sit on the Throne of His glory . (Mt. 25:31)

At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne of the Lord, and all nations will gather in Jerusalem to honor the name of the Lord. No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts. (Jer. 3:17)

The Man…shall build the Temple …and shall sit and rule on His Throne … (Zech. 6:12-13)

IX. THE NATURAL PROCESSES OF LIFE WILL CONTINUE ON EARTH FOR 1,000 YEARS

A. Jesus will rule the Millennial earth that has both natural and supernatural dimensions. The length of life will be reversed as it was in Noah’s time. Those who live to be only 100 years old will be thought to have lived short life. It will be common for people to live to be 500 years old. No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; for the child shall die 100 years old , but the sinner being 100 years old shall be accursed. 21 They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. 22…For as the days of a tree , so shall be the days of My people…25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together , the lion shall eat straw like the ox… (Isa. 65:20-25)

B. Animosity between animals with each other and with humans will be removed.

For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God . 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God (Rom. 8:19-21). The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb …the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole…9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. (Isa. 11:6-9)

C. The natural processes of life will continue in establishing the infrastructure for every sphere of life in every city and village throughout the earth. This infrastructure will include replacing the governmental leaders from the Antichrist’s worldwide government with new people at every level of public life in every city.

D. This infrastructure will include life support systems (food, water, electricity), building projects (buildings, highways, bridges, etc.), economic systems (currencies, banking, investments, etc.), spiritual life (worship centers, Bible schools, etc.), education (from elementary to university levels), law enforcement; agriculture (equipment, distribution), media and arts, technology, environment, social institutions, etc.

E. It will take 1,000 years to spread, mature and test the righteousness in every area of every nation. Jesus’ government will progressively spread to all nations.

Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. (Isa. 9:7)

X. THE SAINTS WILL RULE WITH JESUS AS KINGS AND PRIESTS

A. The two functions most emphasized for the saints are priests and kings (Rev. 1:6; 5:10; 20:6). Have made us kings and priests to our God…we shall reign on the earth. (Rev. 5:10) International House of Prayer: Eastern Gate www.ihopeg.org

B. As priests, resurrected saints will worship, intercede and communicate the knowledge of God to others (non-resurrected people on the Millennial earth) The Holy Spirit will still be operating in the lives of the resurrected saints. The primary government of the Millennial earth will come forth from continual intercession. Jesus is a high priest forever and is forever making intercession. We will relate to the Father through the priestly function of intercession.

But He, because He continues forever , has an unchangeable priesthood. …He always lives to make intercession for them (Heb. 7:24-25)

C. As kings, resurrected saints will appraise the past, determine future strategies and appoint people who serve in earthly systems under their authority. This will include guidance, teaching and managing people in these new technologies.

Do you not know that the saints will judge the world ?…the world will be judged by you…Do you not know that we shall judge (evaluate) angels ? (1 Cor. 6:2-3)

He said to him, “Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little , have authority over ten cities .” (Lk. 19:17)

D. Jesus with His saints will be involved in training the non-resurrected leaders of the nations in God’s ways and society will progressively improve. Together they will establish training institutions that all nations may systematically learn Jesus’ ways. Many people shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the House of the God of Jacob; He (Jesus) will teach us His ways , and we shall walk in His paths." Out of Zion shall go forth the law…the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. (Isa. 2:3)

E. The resurrected saints in partnership with the kings of the earth will work together to fully restore the cities of the earth that are destroyed in the Tribulation.

Then the nations which are left all around you shall know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted what was desolate. (Ezek. 36:36)

They shall rebuild the old ruins , they shall raise up the former desolations , and they shall repair the ruined cities , the desolations of many generations. (Isa. 61:4)

F. The resurrected saints in partnership with the leaders of earth will bring the gospel to those needing salvation . The lost will not be instantly and automatically converted at the moment of the Second Coming, neither will the children born in the Millennium. It will take time and effort to convert individuals and then to disciple nations. I will gather all nations…and they shall come and see My glory 19...Among them who escape I will send to the nations …who have not heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they shall

declare My glory among the Gentiles . 20 Then they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the LORD out of all nations …says the LORD. (Isa. 66:18-20)

G. In the Millennial Kingdom, sin will occur by those with non-resurrected bodies and thus sin will be punished. Sin and even false prophets will continue in the Millennium but without the influence of Satan. When one disobey the commands of the Lord they will be punished swiftly and justly. You will rule them with an iron scepter;(Psalm 2:9)

but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist (Isa11:4-5)

XI. HEAVENLY REWARDS ESTABLISH POSITION

A. There will be many different types of heavenly rewards that believers will receive at the time of the Second Coming. These rewards are not of secondary importance but rather are an important part of our destiny. Therefore, all believers should be familiar with them. One investing in venture knows the main details of what they hope to gain.

B. There will be a vast difference in the measure of glory of each one’s reward. Some in the Kingdom will be called the least and some the greatest (Jer. 31:34; Heb. 8:11; Rev. 11:18; 19:5). Whoever breaks (consistently) one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches (encourages) them, he shall be called great in the Kingdom of heaven. (Mt. 5:19)

Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold , and inherit eternal life. (Mt. 19:29)

He who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold , some sixty , some thirty . (Mt. 13:23)

C. Jesus reveals the great exchange of “few things” to “many things”. God esteems, remembers and rewards our small expressions of obedience in our mind, emotions, and will. Those who were faithful in “very little” will have “government over ten cities” in the Millennial Kingdom. You were faithful over a few things , I will make you ruler over many things . (Mt. 25:21)

He said to me (David) , 'It is your son Solomon who shall build My house...I will establish his kingdom forever, if he is steadfast to observe My commandments…' (1 Chr. 28:6-7)

Peter said, "We have left all and followed You.What shall we have?" 28 Jesus said, "Assuredly…in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the Throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on 12 thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel. (Mt. 19:26-28)

You are those who have continued with Me in My trials. I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Lk. 22:28-30)

XII. THE GLORY OF GOD IN OUR RESURRECTED BODY

A. We will have resurrected bodies; that is to say conformed to Jesus’ resurrected body. Are bodies are not replaced but transformed.

we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.(Phil. 3:20-21)

B. The same body we have now will be the same body that we will have in the resurrection except for it will no longer be in a fallen state. This is what is meant by the resurrection of the dead. Our bodies that God made in our mothers womb will not be destroyed. We will have the same DNA then as we do now.

But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. (1 Cor. 15:38-42) There is one glory of the sun…and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. (1 Cor. 15:41-42)

Those who sleep in the dust (physical death) …shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever … (Dan. 12:2-3)

The righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. (Mt. 13:43)

C. Our five senses touched by the glory of God will effect our abilities to function

1). Sight: ability to see at a distance and at close range 2). Hearing: ability to hear with clarity and perception at great distances 3). Taste: enjoyment of food and water to the fullest degree (1 Cor. 10:31; Rev. 22:1-2) 4). Touch: glorified physical senses 5). Smell: supernatural ability to enjoy and discern heavenly fragrances

1). Supernatural abilities to think: to understand, remember and reason 2). Supernatural abilities to feel: love, joy and peace, etc. 3). Supernatural abilities to communicate: with speech, song, music, writing, poetry 4). Supernatural abilities in strength: speed, endurance, lifting objects without fatigue or sickness 5). Supernatural abilities in travel: flight and speed 6). Supernatural abilities related to the material realm: some will pass through walls like Jesus? 7). Supernatural beauty: physical countenance, fragrance, light, color, etc.

D. Our bodies will not be exactly like Jesus’ body because only He will have the highest expression of glory but ours will have the same kind of capacities with different categories of glory just as we do now. We will have the same voice we do now, but glorified. We will recognize each other by our voices.

Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away." 16 Jesus said to her, "Mary! " She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni !" (John 20:14-16)

XIII. DEFINING EARTH AND HEAVEN

A. Earth in Scripture is used to describe our planet in four different time frames.

1. original earth which God called “very good” (Gen. 1:31) before Adam sinned. 2. present earth which is under the curse of sin (Gen. 3:16-19; Rom. 8:20- 22). 3. Millennial earth will be established in substantial righteousness by Jesus' coming to establish a 1000-year period of unprecedented blessing 4. New Earth which is established in perfect righteousness after the Millennial Kingdom is completed (2 Pet. 3:13).

B. Scripture gives us four realities of heaven

1. first heavens refers to the sky, which includes the solar system.

2. mid-heavens (heavenly places) refers to the place high ranking demonic powers rule that is dismantled at the binding of Satan. (Eph. 2:2; 6:12; Rev. 12:7-8).

3. third Heaven (also, heavenly places) is the place of God’s Throne and where angels and disembodied saints currently live (2 Cor. 12:2; Heb 8:1- 2). The Third Heaven is also where the New Jerusalem is being prepared.

4. New Heaven . This is the coming together of all three realities of heaven including when the New Jerusalem descends to earth (Rev. 21:2, 10; 3:12) and God tabernacles with His people forever. C. The earth will continue forever (Ps. 37:29; 78:69; 104:5; 105:10-11; 125:1-2; 1 Chr. 23:25; 28:8; Isa. 60:21; Ezek. 37:25; Joel 3:20). When God made the earth He said it was very good. I believe the New Havens and New Earth will be a function of restoration. God put all the ingredients in the heavens and the earth that are necessary to multiply its resources forever.

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God .. 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new. (Rev. 21:1-5)

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." (Jer. 31:33-34) them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them…I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore. 27 My tabernacle also shall be with them; I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 28 The nations also will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore ." (Ezek. 37:25-28)

Lord...has given rest to His people that they may dwell in Jerusalem forever. (1 Chr. 23:25)
